The 39 Clues

                                                CHAPTER ONE
                                                THE REAPING
   In all my life, I never dreamed my name would be drawn the day of the Reaping.
  But it was. 
  It all started that morning, when I woke up the way I do every day, to the smell of freshly baked bread.
  "Riley!" My older sister, Chloen[prononced "Clo- en"] called. "Wake up! It's time to go to the square for the Reaping!" I heard the sound of 
  something shattering. I sat up abruptly to see my babysitter's christmas present to me- a vase that I adored- on the hot-pink rug, smashed in
  just about a million pieces. 
  "Oopsie," Chloen said, sucking her breath. "Sorry. It was an accident."
  I sighed. "It's alright," I said. My 17- year old sister can be a bit of a klutz sometimes- okay, Chloen can be a klutz a lot of times.
  I sprang out of bed and dashed into the bathroom. I looked at my watch[that I fell asleep in last night] and grunted. There was no time
  for a shower today. I slipped into my white Capri pants, and nearly strangled myself trying to put on my red shirt.
    "You aren't mad at me, right?" Chloen asks.
     "It's too early to be mad," I said, offering her the playful grin she said made me look like a 5 year old, even though I'm 13.
      Chloen heaved a giant sigh of releif. 
     "So," I said, opening the door. "You ready for yet another Reaping?"

  What the- I posted Chapter One like, FIVE MINUTES ago! How did it show up so fast?

 BUMP! BUMP BUMPITY BUMP!

Please post more! I love this story! And what about the other one about Rue and the rest of the tributes??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!

   If I get one more post I'll continue...

                                                                         CHAPTER ONE 
                                                                         THE REAPING[Continued]
   I walk in the town square and look around. A crowd has already started to gather. Effie has to yell to be heard because everyone's so
 loud. this gets us to be quiet.
  Effie gives a big speach that I honestly don't pay any attention to whatsoever. I'm secretly reading a book, and every year the other kids
 warn me not to do this. But there's no rule against it. So that's why I don't hear the name of the girl tribute for this year. 
  I stop reading because I notice that someone's nudging my shoulder, and everyone is looking at me. I close the book.
  "Effie drew your name," a girl said.
   I gulped and let the peacekeepers guide me to where Effie stands. One snatches the book out of my hands.
 "Hey!" I shout. "That's mine!" But he just raises it high in the air for evrybody to see, and then rips it in half. Goodbye entertainment, hello death, I think.   
 Then Effie draws the name of the boy tribute, and I'm still not paying attention. I'm busy trying to put my book back togather with a paperclip.
  It didn't work out so great.
  We head over to the Justice Building, and I'm shocked when no one comes to say goodbye to me.
 What's going on?  
 I go back to trying to fix my book- with a gluestick this time.
 Not like it's going to help me survive the Hunger Games, though.
