I am going to post my continuation of The Final Quest that Peter Lerangis started. I am using the rest of the prompts he didn't use and some of my own writing. I will post the first installment as soon as I can. I have just finished writing it. I will give you a piece of it each day. Let me know what you think.

THE FINAL QUEST
By Peter Lerangis (aka SwampHamster1), JoyfulSinging3, LightningCatacombs1, BreakingHurricane5, ArtisticAgent45, CleverReader3, EaglePurple20, SapphireIvy5, LordSaladin17, InfiltratingClassified19, DancingWolf5, DecipheringEnthusiastic5, ReadingDetective7, NimbleCobra8, AquaDragon501, and AgentCourier10

Location unknown.
Natalie was freaking out. Not only because she was kidnapped, but mostly because she was sweating.  How could she have known that perspiration was the cost of rebellion?

To her left, Nellie Gomez hummed in her sleep.  Or maybe she was groaning.  Often it was hard to tell the difference.  With a start, she sat up from the cold, hard floor.  “Since when are there polar bears in Mexico?

Natalie jumped.  “Good grief, must your dreams be so vocal?”

“Oh ... hey, why so nervous, kiddo? ”  Nellie said, drifting off again.
“You did the right thing.  Now get some rest.”

Nellie’s encouragement calmed Natalie just a smidgeon. But as she tried to sleep, all Natalie thought about was the photo for which they’d all had to pose — Nellie thrusting forward that dreadful lizard, Uncle Alistair holding up the large sheet of paper.

And the tiny message Natalie had secretly scribbled on Alistair’s note.  The words that might be the hostages’ only chance at salvation:
RAH TO CHESTNUT TACO.

Surely Attleboro would understand the code.  But would the Vespers notice first?  What would they do if they figured it out?

You did the right thing ...
Nellie had said.

Natalie hoped she was right.  If not, their hours were numbered.

Attleboro, Massachusetts.

Zooming to one thousand percent, Sinead looked at the message board one last time. She then closed her laptop.  “Guys, this is going to take all our brainpower.”

Dan Cahill looked straight into her eyes, and felt unsure how to word what he had to say. "I —I think Uncle Alistair is losing it.  I mean, he’s a burrito guy, not tacos.”

“Obviously Alistair didn’t write that,” Jake Rosenbloom said.  “It’s a different handwriting.”

“But what does it mean?” Amy asked.

“It’s an anagram.”  Atticus looked up from a legal pad, where he had been furiously scribbling.  “I think I’ve got it.  But I can’t believe it.”

Sinead, Evan, Dan, Amy, and Jake gathered around to look at Atticus’s hastily written message.

Sinead blinked her eyes in disbelief. CONTACT THE AUTHORS

“This is crazy,” Jake said.

“Unreal,” Evan added.

Sinead shook her head.  “It’s brilliant.  I don’t know why we didn’t think of it before.  They’re the only ones who know where the hostages are.  We must bring them here for interrogation — now!  I’ll use the network to track them down.”

“We can’t!” Jake cried out.  “We’re fictional, remember?  Or so they think.”

Evan nodded.  “If they see us, they’ll freak out.”

“We’ll have to ... ” Amy gulped.  “ ... kidnap them.  In disguise.”

Dan glanced at Amy, eyebrow raised.
“Fine with me.  As long as we’re not the Cliphorns again.”
His sister nodded silently, a glint in her eye, and he smirked.
Show time.

Paris, France.

Hamilton did not expect to be wearing a top hat and handlebar mustache at the Louvre.  But only hours ago he had gotten the assignment — in the middle of a track meet. People had started yelling at him, but he didn't care.  When the Cahills called, you listened.

His target was in sight, through the glass wall.  But the guy was quickly heading out.  Where was his sister Madison?  She was supposed to be on this assignment, too!

The only hope of capture was to go directly through the glass.  Hamilton looked around him. This was looking bad. The glass and red drops of liquid would surely draw attention. He suddenly heard a scream and ran.  Glass exploded all around, and the panicked crowd instantly scattered.

In their midst was Madison Holt, dressed in a security uniform.  “Smooth work, Ham,” she drawled, hunkered over a gentle, intelligent-looking figure.  “Now, hurry!”

Quickly Hamilton threw Rick Riordan over his shoulder and followed his sister down a side corridor.

New York City.
Out of all the things Amy had to go through because of the Cahill family, she never thought being in a fashion show would be one of them.

Hiding in the bathroom of the Waldorf-Astoria, she took a deep breath and tried not to be scared.  Just because three of the people they needed were in the audience, why did Evan have to ask a Janus fashion designer to put her in the show?  “Because with all that makeup and style, they won’t recognize you,” he’d said.  And then, turning red, he’d apologized for about an hour.

How could he do that? In fact, what he had done was the worst thing besides ... well, anything.

Amy couldn't help but sweat. But sweating seemed oddly appropriate for the business at hand.

She tried the door handle, but it wouldn’t move.  Amy couldn't believe it. Someone had locked her in the bathroom, and this time it wasn't Dan.  Her heart beat faster as tears streamed down her face.

As she prepared to kick the door out, it opened easily and another model peeked in.  “Are you okay?  You have to give the knob a jiggle, that’s all.”

“J-j-jiggle.  Right.”  Amy exited on shaky legs.  As she walked backstage she almost tripped in her high heels several times. She would never normally wear her outfit out, but today was an exception. She finally sighed and walked onto the stage.

There, in the audience, were the three people they’d come to kidnap.  Behind them, Jake and Evan were sitting together.  Wearing ridiculous bowler hats and fake beards.  As the two boys gazed at Amy, their mouths were agape.

Big help they would be.

Jake Rosenbloom had thought that at some point being with the Cahills might actually be fun.  But when Amy had announced that they were going to an annual gala, with dances and people from Hollywood, he couldn't help but groan with disappointment.

Now, seeing Amy in her awesome outfit, he could barely think straight.  The glare in her eye was so alluring.  It showed a different side of Amy.  It showed ...

“Who’s that in the gorgeous gown?” came a familiar woman’s voice from the seat directly in front of him.  “She looks way familiar.”

Jake felt Evan’s elbow in his side, and he snapped to.  In front of them, a head of luxuriantly thick red hair turned from one balding yet wildly handsome man to the other.  Both appeared to be sleeping.  “Huh?” said one, a trim fellow with glasses who immediately hopped from his seat.  “Fashion show?  Um, I feel like some ice cream.  Peter?  Jude?”

As the other guy bolted to his feet, slapping a baseball cap on his head, the woman glared at them both.  “Please, Gordon, you guys can’t leave now — ”

Her sentence ended in a sudden gasp as the ballroom went pitch-black.

Now.

As Jake and Evan reached into their pockets for their vials, Amy was already in the aisle with hers.

In a moment, they were dragging three sleepy-headed scribes through the stage door.

Portland, Oregon
Pushing a hot dog cart in an armadillo costume probably wasn't the most stylish thing Jonah Wizard had done, but it would all be worth it in the end.  In a city where the unofficial motto was Keep Portland Weird, he wouldn’t stand out at all.  Which was crucial in this West Coast hotbed of Jonahmania.

“Get yer red hot armadillo dogs!” Dan cried out.  He stopped by a pile of rubble, looked at a notepad in his hand, and stared at the side of the house in disbelief. Well, what once was the side of the house.  “The festival was supposed to be here.  But the place is gone.”

Jonah snatched the sheet from his hand and groaned.  “Dawg, this is a print-out from the 2004 festival.  Get with the plan.”

As he reached for his phone, Dan clutched his arm.

Jonah froze.  A raucous crowd of screaming fans was sprinting toward them across a grassy quadrangle.  It was a sight Jonah knew all too well.  “How’d they recognize me?” he said, preparing to bolt.

Dan held him back  “They’re not after you, dude.  This is a book festival.”

Sprinting away from the fans, their faces taut with shock and awe, were Margaret Peterson Haddix, Patrick Carman, Linda Sue Park, Roland Smith, and David Baldacci.

“Bro,” Jonah said with a grin, “I think we hit the jackpot.”

Attleboro, Massachusetts.
A loud, theatrical voice echoed through the hallway.  “I woke up, my mind blank. Where am I? I thought. What is this place? I couldn't remember getting here. I couldn't remember who the people were in the room. That is when I realized something else. I couldn't remember who I was.

“You’re Peter,” Jude Watson grumbled.

The brown-eyed man moaned as he stumbled down the hallway, propped up between Jake and Evan.  “Oh, sorry, I was talking in my sleep.  I thought this was a dream.”

“It was a good story,” Jake said.  “I write too.  But I prefer third person.  Like this: Ian Kabra hated many things: coconuts, reality TV, the smell of joggers, et cetera. But he could not find one thing in this world he detested more than Daniel Cahill right now — ”

“Knock it off!” Dan shouted.
“Coconut?” a groggy Gordon Korman muttered.  “That’s my favorite ice cream flavor ... ”

Being the longest-legged 39 Clues author, Patrick Carman reached the HQ entrance first.  His steely blue eyes widened in awe.  One by one, the weary group gathered around him.

“What the — ?” Rick sputtered, staring at the vast room full of monitors and high-tech gadgets.  “It’s ... exactly right.”

David Baldacci swallowed hard.  “I guess Roland, Linda Sue, and I can use this as research for our books.”

“But we made you all up!” Margaret said.  “All of this — it’s just ... ”
Her voice trailed off.  Her intended final word — fiction — no longer had any real meaning.

Sinead Starling swiveled toward them, turning away from a large-screen image of the hostages.  “Ladies and gentlemen,” she said with a smile, “we have a lot to talk about ... ”   Brought to you by JanusReader4, HammerheadJunior1, JadeJasmine7 and WritingArt2 (me)   Somewhere in the world   Ted Starling was at the airport. All he could remember is Alistair’s voice "Go! Call William McIntyre!" He brought out his cell phone. He made it from parts he picked up as he ran here. What was William McIntyre's phone number again? He thought. It's 927-His head pounded to a rhythm that was not his own. Another headache. He sat on a wooden bench, trying to rest his head. For what felt like hours, he sat on the bench, breathing large controlled breaths and staying calm. What could be worse than being lost in an unknown country alone? The Ekat remembered the last four numbers and typed them into his phone. Instead of hearing the voice of Mr. McIntyre, his call went straight to voicemail. What happened to him? He always answers his phone.Ted thought. Ted stood looking at the street but not seeing. He heard a distinctive sound, a scream. Since losing his sight, Ted had grown progressively better at echo-location. He ran toward the danger the scream revealed.   At that moment down the street:   Susie happened to look back and saw her obnoxious cousin close by. He must have seen me at the same instant, because he looked startled and said "You!" or at least she thought he said “You!”  I couldn’t be sure because it was then I saw the black van following the girls. Uh-oh. This couldn't be good. What happened next I will never forget. It happened so fast. I was frozen at first. A man in a mask got out of the van. The Vesper pulled out a gun and took off his mask. I nearly collapsed in fear. This man had been my guardian a mere two minutes before I ran away. He had dedicated his life to two things: killing off my whole family and wiping out all Cahill existence. My evil Uncle Sloat, pride of the Vespers, archenemy of the Cahills and target of revenge for my parents’ murder. One of the girls seemed to notice him for the first time and screamed. Before I could stop him, my cousin knocked the large, deadly looking gun out of Uncle Sloat’s hand, but not before Sloat dropped a knockout bomb. All three girls fainted right off. Uncle Sloat jumped in his van and drove off. I ran up to my cousin, Ted. Luckily, he was not knocked out yet. He said two words, “Find Sinead.” And then the knock out bomb did its trick.  I saw another person running towards me. A man with sparkly blonde hair and a giant red sweater leered towards me. "Who, are you?" “Susie” “Who are these people?” he gestured to the girls who were just coming around.  "Delilah, 13 years of age." said one of the girls. The other two just stared at him blankly.  “Are you guys alright?” he asked. “I think so” said another one of the girls.  He started to call an ambulance for Ted. “Who is he?”  “That is my cousin Ted. I think he is fine, just knocked out.” He asked a lot of questions as we waited for the ambulance. Soon the police showed up. Followed by the ambulance and I went with Ted to the hospital. All I could think about was how I was going to find Sinead.

Here is Installment 2: (By the way, when I type the story here the format is correct)

Brought to you by SpyAgent232, SlyOperative5, and WritingArt2 (Me)   C. C. C, Grace’s mansion   Peter Lerangis gasped as his eyes settled on the big screen, which revealed a picture of the hostage. Roland Smith stood up from his seat, finally snapping back into reality. "I'm sure you all are very confused, maybe we should explain" Sinead said looking over at Amy. With a nod, Amy walked across the room and stopped at the bottom right hand corner of the big screen. "As you will see here," Amy gestured her hand towards the three words scribbled on the end of Alistair's note. "One of the hostages was clever to think of creating a code for us to crack. Thanks to Atticus, we found out that the hidden message was"  Dan interrupted her.  "'Contact the authors'"  Rick Riordan seemed to figure out the plan first, or at least articulate it," You captured us while in disguises and hope to get the location of the hostages from us? Why didn't you just ask instead of the hassle of kidnapping every single one of us." Rick seemed to be getting death looks from the other authors but the Cahills, Rosenblooms, and Evan just shrugged it off.  These people may actually know where there beloved family members were. Dan was the only one who was thinking about Rick's question and after twenty seconds of silence he said, "We couldn't come to all of you at first; remember we're fictional beings made up of all of your imaginations." Peter whispered to the other authors, "The kid has a point. Maybe we should tell them..." Peter was hushed into silence by a few of the other authors who had switched their death stares from Rick to Peter.   Sinead had suddenly become interested in this conversation, "Peter what were you wanting to tell us?" All the authors now were very uncomfortable in this amazing room they were sitting in. Gordon Kormon finally spoke up, "We are going to have to tell them eventually why not now?" Amy tried to ask what Kormon was talking about when she was shushed by the conversation going on between all the authors. Rick shook his head no and said, "They can't know now; it would reveal too much." "Yes but if they don't know I'm pretty sure they will figure out. They have a need to know," answered Peter. "But if they know will they ever trust us again, I mean they actually came to us for answers." responded Jude Watson. "If they know we will have given them information and they will trust us. How much more convincing do you need." asked Haddix.  The Cahills looked around the room. "I need more evidence for you to convince me, not them. How are we supposed to know if they are trustworthy?" asked Patrick Carman. "This is exactly how this started and it's about to be the way it's going to end" mumbled Linda Sue Park. "So now you're saying this is going to be the end of the Cahills? Now you have gone way to far." said Roland Smith overhearing Patrick. " We are going to be forced to tell them anyways and if all of you do not be quiet right now I'll blurt it!" yelled  David Baldacci over the other authors. "Ahh!" All nine authors exclaimed, nodded their heads.  There was sudden silence in the room and David turned towards the Cahills, "You will not tell anyone else this information and you will not bombard us with questions while we talk."  “I started this, so I guess I should tell them,” replied Rick Roirdan. As he stared at the picture of the hostages, he told them the truth, “We don’t know where the hostages are.” Everyone but the authors looked shocked. Amy was about to speak but Peter Lerangis continued. “All we have is a bunch of clues. We are trying to find them just like you. Yes, we wrote about their situation but that is all we know. We got sent the same pictures but we-” “We managed to receive video also. We don’t know who sent it or why. But we are as puzzled as you all are.” continued David Baldacci. “NOOO!!!” yelled the hopeful Cahills. “But what are we going to do?” asked Amy. “With all of us looking at the clues we have, I am sure we can find the hostages.” Jude Watson piped up. “Yes, let’s do it.” said Sinead, “Where are the clues?” “Linda Sue Park should have them now.” supplied Gordon Korman. “I don’t have them. Roland was supposed to give them to me when he finished Shatterproof but he never did.” Everyone shifted their gaze to Roland Smith. “Oh, they must still be in my office at home. I thought for sure I sent them.” “Alright, here is the plan. We split up. Amy and Dan get back to getting that Diamond with Jake and Atticus. Hamilton and Jonah will go pick up a lead.  The rest of us will split up. Some of us will stay here and work on things from this angle and the others will go to Roland’s office to find the clues.” declared Sinead. Sinead booked plane tickets for the groups and said, “Now let’s get some rest before going to the airport.” The Cahills showed the authors where they could sleep and everyone got some rest.

Here is Installment 3: (Hopefully the third times the charm in getting it to post looking like I typed it. I am trying something different to try and get it to work)

Brought to you by WritingArt2(me), GoldCobra165, and SlickSeeker1

Right After Everyone Went to bed.

Hamilton Holt snuch off. He had a mission to do. With any luck, there would be no reason to tell anyone about it. He arrived at the house and no one was home. Hamilton had gotten into the place surprisingly easy, but then again he knew where the key was. Even though this mission was suppose to be as easy as making one of his 75 yard throws during a football game, he was freaking out. This house that he was suppose to break into and find info about this person was of course one of his best friends' house, which was also the girl he liked. Amy's words still echoed through his head "Don't trust her Hamilton, there's just not enough information that makes since, which gives us a reason to suspect that she is a Vesper sent to keep an eye on you." By now Hamilton had reached her room. He stopped, took a deep breath, and entered her room only hoping that Megan was not a Vesper. Hamilton began his search. It didn't take long for his fears to come true. Megan was a Vesper and he found a lead. Hamilton raced back to Grace's Mansion. After telling Jonah what he had discovered, Jonah made a couple phone calls. They left a note for the group and left.

The note said:

Yo, can't wait. The Hammer and I went on ahead. Let you know what we find.

NYC That Night

Von Onkswail stood, overlooking the narrow hilled pavement, staring into the gloomy dark night at the only busy corner of the entire neighborhood. Upon returning from Turkey and being told of Mr. McIntyre's death, Von had been called up for an emergency rendezvous. Along with him was his buddy, Jonah Wizard, who happened to be an international hip-hop sensation (although, at the moment he had his commoner's facade on: regular inner city fashions and a slight New York accent). They were on their way to Jonah's second cousin's aunt's house, where they would meet up with Von's best friends Marla Clentepi, Jason Evac, and their other pal named Hamilton Holt.
The four were all part of an international, yet secret, alliance of children who strayed away from the family's norm, and had decided to work together against a formidable foe: an organization called the Vespers. This alliance was only between children of the five branches of the Cahill family, who'd been the most influential bloodline in history for 500 years. But, ever since the family had ended their infighting and bloodshed, they'd been on the verge of a breaking point, landing in, and being toyed with by, the hand of the Vespers. These Vespers had been an unknown thorn in the Cahill side for centuries and had stepped out of the shadows for hidden reasons.

And now, it was rumored that a very dangerous possible Vesper was hiding in a quiet neighborhood not too far from NYC. But his fear of the Vespers wasn't what made young Mr. Von Onkswail pause for those short seconds as he and Jonah ambled toward the small corner deli, no, it was his amazement at what he'd been told shortly before he'd gotten dressed to leave. And if it were true that something of what they were to find had to do with his missing father, whom he'd been digging up buried Cahill files on for months, then the Pseudonomic-Anonymitarian wasn't prepared to venture on.

"What?" Jonah Wizard asked.

"Nothing.C'mon." Von Onkswail finally said, working up a smile, as the two continued on down the road to danger.

Somewhere in the world

Ted Starling was at the airport.

At that moment down the street:

Susie happened to look back and saw her obnoxious cousin close by.

"Who, are you?"

 “Susie”

“Who are these people?” he gestured to the girls who were just coming around.

"Delilah, 13 years of age." said one of the girls. The other two just stared at him blankly.
“Are you guys alright?” he asked.
“I think so” said another one of the girls.
He started to call an ambulance for Ted. “Who is he?”

“That is my cousin Ted. I think he is fine, just knocked out.”

He asked a lot of questions as we waited for the ambulance. Soon the police showed up. Followed by the ambulance and I went with Ted to the hospital. All I could think about was how I was going to find Sinead.

C. C. C, Grace’s mansion

Peter Lerangis gasped as his eyes settled on the big screen, which revealed a picture of the hostage.
Thanks to Atticus, we found out that the hidden message was–"
Dan interrupted her.  "'Contact the authors'"

Rick Riordan seemed to figure out the plan first, or at least articulate it," You captured us while in disguises and hope to get the location of the hostages from us? Why didn't you just ask instead of the hassle of kidnapping every single one of us."
Rick seemed to be getting death looks from the other authors but the Cahills, Rosenblooms, and Evan just shrugged it off.  These people may actually know where there beloved family members were. Dan was the only one who was thinking about Rick's question and after twenty seconds of silence he said, "We couldn't come to all of you at first; remember we're fictional beings made up of all of your imaginations."
Peter whispered to the other authors, "The kid has a point. Maybe we should tell them..." Peter was hushed into silence by a few of the other authors who had switched their death stares from Rick to Peter.
Sinead had suddenly become interested in this conversation, "Peter what were you wanting to tell us?"
All the authors now were very uncomfortable in this amazing room they were sitting in. Gordon Kormon finally spoke up, "We are going to have to tell them eventually why not now?"
Amy tried to ask what Kormon was talking about when she was shushed by the conversation going on between all the authors. Rick shook his head no and said, "They can't know now; it would reveal too much."
"Yes but if they don't know I'm pretty sure they will figure out.
There was sudden silence in the room and David turned towards the Cahills, "You will not tell anyone else this information and you will not bombard us with questions while we talk."
“I started this, so I guess I should tell them,” replied Rick Roirdan.
We got sent the same pictures but we-”

“We managed to receive video also.

“Yes, let’s do it.” said Sinead, “Where are the clues?”

“Linda Sue Park should have them now.” supplied Gordon Korman.
“I don’t have them. Roland was supposed to give them to me when he finished Shatterproof but he never did.”
Everyone shifted their gaze to Roland Smith.
“Oh, they must still be in my office at home. I thought for sure I sent them.”

“Alright, here is the plan. Sinead booked plane tickets for the groups and said, “Now let’s get some rest before going to the airport.”
The Cahills showed the authors where they could sleep and everyone got some rest.

The Hospital, Location Unknown
Ted Starling was just coming around. He moaned.
"Lay still, you're alright," a voice said.
"Huh?" he replied and opened his eyes. "Oh, Susie. What happened?" "You were knocked unconscious by my Uncle Sloat. I'm sorry. I think he was after me." "Uncle Sloat? Why?" "I found out he was a Vesper and I ran away. I was at the airport to catch a plane. Wht were you doing there?" "I escaped the Vespers and was trying to get back to Sinead and the others. I tried calling Mr. McIntyre but he didn't answer." "You said 'Find Sinead' just before you went unconscious. I didn't know where she was. Do you? I could give her a call now." "No." "Well, don't worry. You are safe here." The door started to open and a gloved hand could be seen on the handle. "Oh, the nurse is back."said Susie, "He just woke up." As Susie and Ted turned toward the door, they realized it was not a nurse. "Run, Susie!" Ted yelled. Susie didn't have time to think. Uncle Sloat was coming in and she needed to get out. She realized the window was still open. She quickly ran for the window and heard Ted gasp as she jumped out. Luckily, Ted was on the first floor of the hospital. Susie hit the pavement running. She had to get help. Uncle Sloat stood at the window in disbeliev. Oh, well, I will get her later, he thought. He was here for the boy this time. He turned around and smiled at Ted. Ted was uncounscious on the bed. Sloat had hoped to get them both with the knockout bomb but at least he got him. Just then there was a knock at the door. "Come on in." In came the orderlies with the gurney. "Thanks, guys. He is ready to go." They put Ted on the gurney and wheeled him to the awaiting transporter. He was headed back to the hostages. Susie watched as Ted was put in the transporter. She had to find Sindead and get help, but how?

Jonah's Private Plane
The record player spun round and round, just like the young gangsta's life. His was growing, changing, moving around in one big cycle, and constatly modifying his life. The music that came out was sometimes beautiful, sometimes scratchy, and the young gangsta could see exactly how his life was similar to that, sometimes going through good times, sometimes going through rough. Except, one day on a hot August afternoon, that all changed. And this change was something that could not be taken from the record player ans switched to a different song. This one was different. Permanent. Hamilton stopped reading and turned to Jonah."Hey man what is this?" Jonah took the paper Hamilton handed him. "Yo, that's my biography I am working on. I figure this Vesper thing won't last forever and I can make big bucks on my story." "Well leave me out of it, unless, I can be your personal trainer. That way all the girls will want to be trained by me." They spent the rest of the trip talking about their lives after the Vespers.

Roland Smith's Office

Rick Riordan, Peter Lerangis, Jude Watson, Roland Smith and Sinead Starling got to work. "Rick check that pile on the chair. Jude check out the pile on the table. Peter get that pile in the corner. Sinead check the computer. And I'll check the pile behind the door." Roland Smith ordered.

Sinead spoke up. "Remember we are looking for the clues you have compiled for the location of the hostages."

Everyone set to work. Rick skimmed the numerous pages on the chair. Part of each of the pages would jump out at him.

Twenty three year old Grace Cahill didn't know if she was excited or horrified. She reread the message that had come all the way from her home town in Massachusetts. But was it too dangerous, with her involvement in the 39 clues? Grace smiled. It would be worth it. Nathaniel Hartford had asked Grace Cahill to marry him!

Grace Cahill and Nathaniel Hartford were in trouble. The museum was nearly destroyed, and the smile and heat were unbearable. They had to get out, but not without the artifact. Nathaniel struggled to release it from the glass case. Grace called out for him to leave it behind, but it was too late. The ceiling caved in, and Nathaniel was gone. No! Grace thought, this can't be happening! Then another thought occurred to her; How will I tell Hope?

Hope focused. The machine wouldn't work without a password. She pressed three buttons. She laughed like crazy. But it didn't last long...

Arthur Trent was waiting for Hope, it was their first date. But she was three hours late and still not here. But he knew why. He decided to call her. He gasped when the phone rang came before the dial. He didn't like what he heard.

James Cahill thought he had everything. And he did, money, kids, an awesome career, but that all ended when his wife died giving birth to his only son. His world crashed. He couldn't bear to look at any of his kids without seeing her face. Soon, he couldn't even fulfill his Cahill duties without thinking about how easy it would be with his deceased wife. He had to get away.
James went into hiding, leaving his kids with a governess. He let his daughters' name his son for him, all he did was pay for their schooling and training. It worked out, until the day she came, and messed with his memories, and let him back into the clue hunt, led him back into the world of the Cahills.

The room was silent. Everybody just looked around and shifted uncomfortably in their chairs. It was the Cahill Christmas reunion. Amy felt her face turning red and turned to her mother. "Mommy, why is no one talking?" she whispered.
Just then a beutiful lady with olive skin and black hair spoke up. She had a British accent. "So where have you been lately, Hope?"

Rick quickly realized this pile of papers were what the authors had found out so far about the Cahills of the past. He was about to say so when a slip of paper fell to his feet. He picked it up, read it, and gasped.

Here is Installment 6:     Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), WinningBook4, ThunderheadGold1, FightingIntelligence21, and DolphinAgent59     When Rick gasped.
Ian looked at his phone and kissed it. It was finally working again. He didn't think he could last another second without service. Ian looked at his phone and noticed the calls from Amy. He sighed and whispered to himself if onlly she knew how I feel about her and what I'm going through. Ian Kabra exited out of the plane and was disgusted by the sight of the filthy airport. Crowds of filthy people were everywhere. Peasants. He shrugged at the thought. But what caught his eye was a famliar figure. He just couldn't escape her. Isabel Kabra. His mother. Her face on a billboard advertising her fake work. "Ugh!" he said and stepped into the limo. Ian fidgeted in the back of his limo. He started reliving the encounter he had with his mother before boarding his plane for here.
"Darling, I don't think you know what you're getting yourself into." The voice told him. He looked left to right, trying to find its owner, it's pitch black here and he didn't know where he was. A cold hand shot out from the darkness and grabs his chin. It twisted his head to the right, then to the left, as if it were ecamining him... and the only thing he could think of was, I am going to die. Because she was right. I don't know what I'm getting myself into.  His cell phone rang. "Hello?" he answered. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. They had kidnapped all the authors. What was Amy thinking? Ian wondered. "Back to the airport, driver."

Roland Smith's Office

While Rick Riordan was going through the pile on the chair, Jude Watson went through the pile on the table. She realized this pile was new story ideas sent to Roland Smith. As she scanned the letters, several impressed her.

The Plague had destroyed her, her family, her friends, her life. She sat in a corner, alone, only one of the few that had survived the Plague.

I slipped quietly down the alley. If the guards spotted me I was dead. You're probably wondering why I'm here, the most dangerous spot on earth anyone could be. I should probably tell you now that you're with me you are as endangered as me. My name is Spor Surdisk. A common name around here. I'm dangerous - at least that's what some people say. I'm as dangerous as... well I'm safer than most people around these parts. I was the ony girl out of 9 children. Some people would say that having 8 brothers is a nuisance. Not me. Brothers can teach you stuff. Like how to survive on your own.

When I finally made it to the teleporter in the Mystic Cave, I heard a hiss. And I knew my plan had failed.

Misty, Torak, Renn, Wolf, and Wolfette were tired, hungry, tattered, and torn. They were being chased by the most evil people in their world, the Soul Eaters.

Once upon a time I was loved by everyone. Once upon a time I was a normal person. Once upon a time I believed that dreams do come true. Once upon a time. Once upon a time. That was before a very dark and terrifying experience changed my life... and now... I will never be the same. What could happen that could change my life so drastically you ask? Well I'll tell you. I'll start at the very beginning.

Jude finished her pile thinking Nothing there, when she heard Rick gasp.

The Instant Rick Riordan gasped.

Amy and Dan got off the plane, and naturally he ran to the nearest snack bar. "Dan come on! We don't have time for this!" exclaimed Amy.

"But this schnitzel is so good" pleaded Dan, "You should try it instead of reading for six and a half hours!" he offered.

Jake and Atticus Rosenbloom joined them for some schnitzel before they headed to their hotel. On the way to the hotel, all Dan could do was stare at the screen of his phone as Amy went on and on about what she had read on the plane.

Dan kept reading the same two words again and again.

Moon Face

Then he suddenly was interrrupted by Atticus, "Hey Dan you coming or not?" he asked.

Atticus smiled really big, he is like me when I first started the 39 clues, before things got real...ugly, Dan thought to himself as he joined his sister, Amy, and Atticus' brother, Jake Rosenbloom. Amy's dark circles under her eyes had gotten darker; she hadn't slept much because she'd been researching all night.

"So we need to plan on how we steal the Diamond for Vesper1..."Amy said.

But Dan was thinking about the text his dad gave him, so Arthur is alive.

They went up to their hotel room.

Location Unknown

The Janus clue hunter was surprised at the amount of Vespers watching her house and neighborhood. Ivy had just collected all 39 clues. She figured that was what they were after. She had expected enemies to catch wind of her accomplishment, but not this quickly. How could she ever manage to stay, hide her clues from the Vespers AND keep her friends and family out of this? She heard a soft rhythm tapped on her window. Only one reason for that. It had to be Susie. That was their secret knock. Ivy let Susie into the room.

"I haven't heard from you in ages. What's up?" Ivy said as she stared at the pale sweating Susie.

"Have you seen all the Vespers out there, Ivy?"

Ivy looked guilty and simply said "Yeah."

"They're after me Ivy."

"What for?" Ivy asked skeptically.

"I don't have much time. Listen" Susie told Ivy all about Uncle Sloat being a Vesper, running away, finding Ted at the airport, what happened at the hospital and how she followed the transporter, She ended by saying, "We have to find Sinead and tell her where the hostages are."

Ivy was glad the Vespers didn't know about her yet but this was worse. She said, "I don't think we can trust the phone lines or the computer with them out there. We are going to have to do it the old fashion way. By word of mouth."

"What do you mean?"

"We sneak out of here and find the next closest Cahill. Tell them. Then if it still isn't safe to call or type, they continue on and so on. Eventually we will get the information to Sinead or someone else who can help us."

"Okay, let's go."

"I'm leaving a note for my parents first."

Ivy and Susie managed to sneak away without the Vespers spotting them.

Roland Smith's Office

While Rick, Jude, Peter, and Roland went through their piles, Sinead was on the computer and felt right at home. Roland Smith had already turned the computer on and put in his password for her. He needn't have bothered. She could have cracked his password in no time. She did a quick scan through his file names looking for the most obvious ones first. She came across one labeled "Cahill Future" and opened it up.

Ian took a deep breath and stepped into the large mall. Today was not a day for shopping. As a practice assignment, he had to trail Amy Cahill through the mall and keep track of the stores she went into and what she bought. Without beign seen. He spotted her out of the corner of his eye and started walking...

"Ugh, that's not it!" Sinead thought and continues her search. Several files later, she found what they were looking for and then Rick gasped.

Everyone turned to look at Rick. "Did you find something?" asked Jude Watson.

Rick looked at Sinead and his face turned white. Jude and Peter looked between Rick and Sinead and Sinead and Rick like they were watching a tennis match.
"What is it?" Sinead asked worriedly.

Roland Smith grabbed the paper out of Rick's hand and read it.

Sinead was reading. Just reading, not thinking of 20 ways to type in Morse Code. The sky was a brilliant blue, a cloud here and there. Now, you may be wondering, what she was reading? War and War. Written by Vesper 1. Her phone rang. "Hello?"

"Update."

"They know it's the Jubilee. They're planning a way to steal it."

"Excellent. Why don't you think of it, and they'll find me there?"

"Sounds like a plan."

"V-3 has been suddenly terminated. I need a replacement."

"Say no more."

"See you soon, Vesper 3."

"Oh," said Roland, "That's in the

The other authors looked at him. "What?" Roland shrugged.

Sinead looked at the authors, "What did it say?"

Rick looking less pale says, "You were a Vesper spy and just became Vesper 3."

Sinead gave Roland a "How dare you!" look and said, "Never mind that. Look at what I found. The missing clues!"

I think you should start where Amy, Dan, and Nellie are leaving a hotel in West Point, New York and going to Athens, Greece, to find a hidden artifact in the Mediterranean Sea, t;he golden briefcase Grace used in #11, Vespers Rising. At the airport, they accidently run into a Vesper. I might send more later.

Montana has always been a tough and creative Janus, every part of her life has been the same; learn, invade, train, and create. That is until she and three other Cahills, from the three remaining branches (Lucian, Ekaterina, and Tomas), are selected to become Madrigals. She and her friends are quickly accepted and face the hardships of their normal missions, Madrigal missions and love. Especially when her best friend Katniss (Lucian) falls for the bad-boy (Vesper), Eric. As she becomes closer to the three Madrigal trainees and their teenage mentor Christopher (Madrigal), she is faced with the greatest decision of all: stick with her best friend and go to the dark side or stick with the love of her life, not to mention her friends, and save the world from the Vespers.

These were some of our notes to each other about what might have been, Peter thought to himself. Then he heard Rick gasp.

When Rick gasped.

This was Installment 9: (I accidently labeled it wrong, sorry)

Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), and GadgetGirl11

Here is Installment 10:   Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), AquaDragon1484, DarkCat38, HorsePink30, and CobraRed30   Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.   Amy stared at Dan for a while before she continued on about her plan, she worried a lot about Dan but she had to think about the Hostages more. She was about to continue but she was disturbed by a beep of the phone. It was Sinead.
"Hello?"
Dan, Jake, and Atticus listened closely.

"Uh-hu." A pause.
"WHAT?!" Dan, Jake, and Atticus became very curious about what Sinead was saying to Amy.

"Did you find it?"
"Keep me informed."
"Yes."
"Good-bye."
"Who was it?" Dan asked.
"What they say?" asked Jake.
"That was Sinead. They found the clues and are working on the location. And apparently that Roland Smith has quite an imagination." said Amy. "They are going to tell us as soon as they learn the location. Alright back to the plan."
With that news they finished ironing out the plan. Amy looked up, "Dan, what would you choose: a bag of chips or Saladin?" Amy said gritting her teeth.
"Ghalawin uhga se" Dan said.
"Swallow and talk please"
Dan swallowed "Saladin of course."
"Then get your butt over here and stop Saladin from puking all over our hotel room!"
Dan glared "It's your fault Saladin got sick!"
Amy rose glaring in response "Oh really? And why would that be?"
Dan crossed his arms but used his right arm to eat the chips. He started to respond when Jake said, "It doesn't matter. Will you two just take care of it? The smell is making Atticus sick. By the way, why did you bring your cat anyway?"
Amy grabbed tissues and started to clean up the mess. Reluctantly, Dan helped. "We missed him," said Amy.
"He could help us steal the diamond." Dan added.
Jake rolled his eyes and checked on Atticus, who had gone to the on suite bedroom.
Dan had never been so quiet in his life. "Look," Amy said. "I understand that this person who you think is our dad is texting you-"
Dan interrupted her "What if it was him that killed Mac?" he asked.
Amy sighed. "I don't think it was."
"But what if it was?" Dan asked in a not so kind voice.
"I-I don't know." Amy replied.
"You're the smart one!"
Amy sat down by him. "Listen. If it was him, we can move on and forget about him." What am I doing? Amy thought I'm telling him lies. We won't be able to move on. Dan's voice kept ringing in her head What would we do if we found out that he killed Mac? Or worse. What if we find him face to face with us? Then, there was a knock on the door.
It was Jake. "You have it all cleaned up yet?"
Amy picked up the last of it and told Jake, "Yes."
"Good, Atticus wanted to say good-night."
Atticus looking a little green sticks his head in, "I'm going to bed, good-night."
Shortly everyone went to bed leaving the living room of their suite to Saladin. The four of them slept in the bedroom.
Jake stared at Amy as she, and all the others slept. How much should he tell her? Would she like him afterwards? Did he care? He didn't want Amy and Dan to find out exactly who he was. But they had to know. It may just save the hostages. As Jake contemplated when, what, and how he was going to tell them; he fell asleep hoping it wouldn't come to that.

While Amy, Dan, Jake, and Atticus slept.     Gloria looked back, making sure no one was following her. If someone was, a centuries worth of secrets and work had been done for nothing and life as we know it, would be merely a memory. Crouching in the shadows, she peered out from behind the alley wall, clutching the small knife that was her only weapon. If they caught her it was over, no second chances. She would die. She ran her hand over the dry brick wall, panting hard. Around her, the fog had dropped like an ominous blanket, like the smelly one Grandmamma used to hang over her as if it were a great gift to have a cover. She heard pounding steps echoing in the distance. Sucking in her breath, she pressed herself against the wall, the bricks flaking against her cheek. A tiny figure eased out of the mist. "Kenny?" she said. "No, Kenny. No, you can't be here!"   Kenny was Gloria's baby brother. "But you said I could come next time, last time." whined Kenny.
"This mission is too important Kenny. Go on home. I promise that next time you can come with me. Okay?"
"Okay, you pinky promize Orie?" Orie was how he said her name.
"Yes I pinky promise." Gloria said and shook Kenny's pinky with her own. "Now go home."
"Bye. Don't forget you promised." Kenny ran off.
Gloria stood there for a while until she was sure Kenny was far away. She probably should have taken Kenny home but she was on a tight schedule. Gloria glanced down the alley wearily. No one there. She wiped her sweaty palms on her jeans and gulped. Here goes nothing, she thought. She shoved aside the trash bags and old boxes. Then, carefully, she removed the loose brick and took out the letter. She had found it. She had no time to waste. They were expecting her at the rendezvous point. The girl ran down the street. She had to get away. If she was caught it could be the death of one of the hostages. She wouldn't be the one to cause one of them to die.

In no time, Gloria found herself at the rendezvous point. Two figures were already waiting for her.

"Did you find it, you?" said the one.
"Were you seen?" asked the other.   "Here it is and no I wasn't seen" Gloria replied handing the letter to the two agents.   A single eye glittered in the dark, startling the agent. They thought of hiding, but they knew any attempt would be futile. They had been seen. She crept away from the building slowly, being careful to stay in the shadows. One false movement and she might not make it out of there alive, if at all. A scream pierced the silence of night. She turned away, abandoning all caution, and fled for her life. They were coming. It sounded like a hundred screaming fans were right behind her. She quickly yelled, "Good luck, Jonah!" and disappeared around the corner.

Jonah and Hamilton ran for their lives. So far they were ahead of the screaming fans but they were losing ground fast. They heard squealing tires and thought this is it. But they heard someone yell, "Get in!"   They didn't stop to think but jumped in the open door of the black van.    After some quick turns and squealing tires, the vehicle slowed down. Hamilton and Jonah looked at each other and knew they had the same thought. Get ready to jump out, if this is a bad guy. They looked at the driver who had just pulled into a parking lot. They sighed in relief. "Yo, Erasmus!"   "Thanks, you came at the perfect time." said Hamilton Holt.   "No problem. Let's take a walk."   They got out of the car. The sun was coming up and the sunrise was fantastic. They finally lost them, the fans, but not for long. Just then Hamilton spotted his favoirite champion, Mr. Tan and ran over to him. "Mr. Tan can you sign my shirt?"
"My pleasure, kid."
Mr. Tan was signing Hamilton's shirt when Jonah and Erasmus caught up with him. Two girls nearby noticed Jonah, luckily Erasmus noticed them first. He grabbed Jonah and Hamilton and pushed them onward. They ran and they took a sharp turn to avoid the fans that passed them. Hamilton complained, "Ah man, I was going to ask him to sign my forehead next."
Jonah replied, "Well I bet you won't find Mr. Tan with scraming fans after us."
"Um, guys."
They turned to Erasmus. He had picked up an old torn piece of paper from the ground. "Yo, that's the letter Gloria gave us." Gloria had been led by what they found in New York City.
"It must have fell when we stopped here." said Erasmus.   "What's it say?" asked Hamilton.     It said:
The old man drifted to shore, he had proven the gods wrong. He was now home. He wanted to run to his wife and scoop her up and never let her go. But he knew what he had to do. He walked slowly to the temple of Apollo. The Oracle spoke, "I know why you are here."
The old man replied, "Please tell me."
The Oracle then spoke in a mystified voice, "What you hidden is now lost, but out of reach from those who seek, it willl be found, but not by V.
Jonah looked at Hamilton and Erasmus; they both were silent staring at him with the same look on their face. Jonah broke the silence and said, "Homer."

Greece     Madison gripped the rope tight, squeezing her eyes shut and refraining from looking down. Good thing Hammy wasn't here. He'd surely laugh at her, she and her secret fear that no one knew about. Her sister Reagan had been kidnapped by Vespers and Eisenhower expected her and the rest of the family to sit around and eat popcorn while Hamilton went to Pompeii with Jonah? Not a chance. So Madison had snuck out, taken a flight to Greece, and trie to track the Vespers. No one had told her that it included...
escaping Jonah's fans without being trampled. Now she had lost her brother. Following Jonah and Hamilton was just too dangerous. She decided to go home. She only hoped no one would find out she had left or where she had been.

  Hotel 12:05pm Bangkok, Thailand.
At 12:05 pm Dan Cahill sat hidden in wait. His older sister Amy Cahill would be coming around the corner any minute, and he couldn't wait to scare, surprise, and shock her. Amy had gone to get their disguises for the heist and had just called to say she was on her way up. Dan smiled in spite of himself. Just then, footsteps sounded, and Dan pulled back and scrunched up even tighter, so Amy couldn't see him. As the footsteps got louder, Dan readied himself, until finally, he saw a shoe start coming around the corridor. He focused on the feet, not wanting to look up, for fear he would give himself away. Dan waited, and finally the moment was right. "BOO!" he shouted, jumping up and waving his hands in the air.
"Dan!" the person gasped, the person Dan had assumed would be his sister.
"What in the world are you doing here?" Dan asked.
Ian looked at Dan and right when he was going to answer, he heard an “Eep!” behind him. He turned around to see Amy.

One look at him and I knew who it was. His amber eyes twinkled in the light. He is so... cute! Amy thought dreamily. What am I thinking? Evan is cute. Not Ian! I am with Evan. What is Ian Kabra doing at this hotel?

“I was just about to tell Dan I heard about the authors and came to help.” Ian said with a smile.

Amy and Dan exchanged looks. Dan’s said, “Let’s hear him out and then I will show him some ninja moves.”

While Amy’s said, “I don’t want to trust him but we need to know what he has to say.”

They agreed to listen to him.

“Ian let’s go to our room and we will listen to what you have to say.” said Amy.
Ian told them about his trip to see his mother and her worksite. Then he told how it was all a lie and what he had found and his mom trying to bribe him. He took a quick gulp/sigh before he said the worst part of what he needed to say. There was a knock at the door. Ian ran to open it. He handed the man a $100 bill and told him to bring it in. In came a cart full of Amy’s and Dan’s favorite foods. They just stared at it. The man left with a bow and Dan ran to attack the food.

“W-why did you d-do all of this?” Amy asked, her face heating up. Ian looked at his feet, the sky, -anywhere but into those green eyes. “Because…” he said, finally making himself look up at her. “Well, because… Amy… Dan…I…I…I am… Sorry!” and Ian hung his head.

Amy and Dan looked at Ian, then each other. They were shocked and knew Ian really was sorry for abandoning them. Amy spoke first, “Ian we forgive you. We have things covered here but they probably need you back at the Mansion. Why don’t you head there and we will keep you posted.”

“Alright, I will go right away!” Ian jumped up.

Amy looked at Dan and saw he agreed. “Ian, wait.” Ian turned around. Amy said, “Here take Saladin back with you.”

Ian paled a little but agreed.

"Ok, Saladin, you can do this!" Dan said desperately, trying to resist the urge to turn around and look at the chaos behind him. The looks Amy and Ian were exchanging. Dan knew exactly how Ian felt about Amy and he didn’t like it one bit. The Egyptian Mau stared at him blankly.
"Mrrp?" obviously meant do you really expect me to go with him.

“But you have to Saladin.”

With one more “Mrrrp!”, Saladin walked into the carrier.
“Bye, pal.”   Saladin was loaded into his carrier and with a “Good-bye!” Ian went out the door.

Amy and Dan were still staring at each other in bewilderment when Jake and Atticus returned with lunch.

Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), and AmazingAble44     Hotel Room next to Amy’s
Isabel smiled and took her cheek off the wall.  Having bribed Ian had seemed right.  But he had betrayed her. She laughed, her eyes glistening.  He wouldn't get away this easily.  He would pay. Isabel, with an evil smile plastered to her face, accessed an encrypted text.  The smile was whipped off of Isabel's face.  How dare V- 1 say that!  Her face reddened and anger boiled her stomach.  She would show him.  She would show him what a brilliant criminal she was.  Most of all she would show her darling son what mummy could do.
Isabel turned to her computer and a grin once again crawled around her cheeks.  No one put anything over Isabel Vesper Hollingsworth- that's right, not Isabel Kabra anymore.

Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), RisingHunter6, ArtisticJanus11, RavenAzure1, CatCommando45, and BreakingHurricane5       Location Unkown.
Martin sat back in his bed. Today had changed his life, for the better, and for the worse. Martin was excited. He had won a full ride scholarship to his favorite college. Martin was also scared. It meant he had to leave his family and friends to go to college. He didn’t know what he would do without his family and friends around to help him. Little did he know that it was more than that.

His mom stuck her head in his room. “Honey?”
“Yes, mom.”
“There are a couple of girls here to see you. Should I tell them to leave?”
“No, I will be right down.” He wondered who they were. He wasn’t expecting any of his friends this evening but maybe they had heard his news and had come to congratulate him.

When Martin came downstairs, he was shocked to realize he didn’t know the two girls waiting for him.

“EkToMaLuJa” one of the girls said.

Martin hadn’t expected that. “What is the mission?”
“We found the location of the hostages.” Ivy and Susie said. After telling Martin the location, they headed out.

“You can count on me.” Martin said as the two girls left.

Ivy and Susie where ecstatic. They had found the hostages and the location would soon make it to Sinead. They didn’t notice the Vespers watching them as they tried to sneak back into the neighborhood. The Vespers charged.
Ivy gasped she was almost there she was going to make it, she HAD to make it if she didn't get away it would cause her, her family, and the world everything. She ran as fast as she could, but she was tiring. He was coming, and if he got his hands on her, her family would all die. Everyone. She had to get away before he came, but she tripped, she gasped, and she felt the pressure of his hands against her neck before everything went black.
Susie rose up into the cold, dark night, the wind swirling her hair. She could see nothing, not even her own hand, except for an eerie blue light above her. Looking up, she couldn’t hold the contact for more than 2 seconds before she clamped her eyes in an instant. Susie was panicked. She could only panic. She was staring into the eyes of the Vesper she didn't want to see. Uncle Sloat. Anyone but him, she thought. Anything but that, she thought as he pulled out the gun. And the last thing she heard before her eyes fluttered open again, was a sharp, piercing scream that she realized was her own.         Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me)
  The Hotel

“Hey, guys. I just thought of something.” said Dan.
“We don’t have time, Dan.” Amy replied.
“But it could be important.”
“What?” piped up Atticus.
“I just thought. Did anyone look to see if they were part of the family?”
“I would assume that Sinead person did that.” Jake supplied.
“I don’t know… maybe we should check real quick.” said Amy as she reached for the phone. A short pause then,“Hey, we were wondering if ah… anyone checked to see if we were related to them.”
“Uh-huh… yeah I’ll wait.”
After a few minutes passed, “Great! Thanks!”
“So…” asked Dan.
“No one thought to check.”
“And.”
“Yes, they are. In fact, they are Madrigals.”
“I thought so. Just read their bios. They are all about the same things.”
“Now what are we going to do?”
“Why don’t we just ask to take it?” said Jake.
“I don’t think we could just go up to them and say ‘Hey we are trying to get our family members back from the Vespers and well the Vespers want The Golden Jubilee Diamond you have. Can we please take it to them?’ And expect them to hand it over. We better just stick with the plan and steal it.” ranted Amy.
Dan stopped typing on his computer and turned to Amy. “Take a chill pill, Amy”
“We have to at least try to ask them. Then we can decide if we need to use her plan which I know will work Amy.” said Atticus trying to calm Amy down. Ever since Ian had shown up, Amy had been a little testy.

“Okay, but how are we going to contact them. We can’t just call up the Royal Thai family.” said Jake.

He had spent weeks preparing for missions but not what he encountered on the other side of the door.

Sinead paused when she heard the clatter.  It was only natural human response to keep going unless another noise occurred, but Sinead was a Cahill.  She pivoted and dashed back towards the door. Flinging it open and pointing a finger, Sinead yelled, "You?!"

Ian was soaked through his clothes; his hair was a mess, with a ragged-looking bunch of roses in one hand and his ruined shoes in the other. Never had he been more humiliated in his life. And never had he been more nervous. Ian picked up Saladin’s carrier and handed it to Sinead. Sinead trying to suppress a laugh took Saladin’s carrier and asked, “What happened to you?”

Just then Evan came down to see what all the commotion was about. Evan laughed at Ian, for what he looked like all soaked. Saladin seemed to be generally interested. It was the first time Saladin didn't try to kill Ian. But Saladin was in a cat carrier after all. Sinead gave Evan and Ian a glare, “What are you doing here, Ian?”
Ian explained everything that happened since he left all the way up to Sinead opening the door. See Ian was about to knock on the door when Saladin escaped from the carrier. Ian Kabra had never seen an Egyptian Mau jump as high as Saladin just had. Saladin jumped up to a window with a vase of roses in it and knocked it down on Ian’s head. Ian managed to put Saladin in the carrier, pick up the roses and his soggy shoes, and stand up by the time Sinead had opened the door. Ian ended his tale with what was becoming a little easier to say, “I’m sorry you guys. Can you forgive me?”
“Go on; get a shower and a change of clothes. We have work to do.” Sinead ordered.

Ian freshly showered smirked to himself. It feels good to be back, Ian thought.  The bright light of the computer screen made his tan skin glow. The whole plan was written on that one file. A mad Lucian princess with a addiction to peanuts named Holly thinks she can do better than Amy and Dan at finding where the hostages are held captive has another thing coming, thought Ian. A creak in the floorboards behind him made him jump. He turned around and saw Saladin slink in and jump on the computer counter. Ian went back to what he was doing.

"What are you doing in here?"     Ian whirled around to face Sinead, who did not look happy. Ian was about to apologize. "I told you not to mess around with my project!" Sinead yelled at Saladin, "And now you've ruined it."     "Mrrrrrrp." Saladin said swiping at Ian’s head. Sinead walked over and picked him up.      "Thank you!" Ian said.     Then there was a bing and Sinead walked over to the computer still holding Saladin.  It was an E-mail from Dan. “I’m getting Saladin out of here. See what Dan says. I’ll be back.” Sinead said as she left.

Ian Kabra stared blankly at the email from his cousin Dan. There was no possible way he could decipher all the internet abbreviations, much less reply. As Ian was trying to figure out the message, he suddenly heard, "Ian!"     Sinead was trying very, VERY hard not to slap him silly.  "What, did you do to my computer?"      Then, Ian's evil laugh rang out. Suddenly, she felt excruciating pain in the back of her head, and it all went black. Not another migraine, Sinead thought. Ian quickly explained there was nothing wrong with the computer. It was just Dan’s E-mail. Sinead calmed down and managed to figure out what Dan was wanting.

Dan’s computer made a dinging sound. “Here is your answer”, he said pointing at his computer.

It was from the C.C.C., they had contacted the Royal family. The family was willing to give them the Diamond but an appropriate fake had to be swapped in. Luckily, the Royal family didn’t want their subjects knowing they had such a precious jewel so the fake would not be a problem. They also sent their hopes the hostages would be found quickly and safe. The Royal family also laid out the plan for the diamond swap. Amy was ecstatic; they could still use part of her plan and the disguises.

Where had he put the number? He wondered. There it is. He dialed the number and waited.

“Hello?” said a very groggy voice.

“Seeker!”
“Martin?”
“Yeah, it’s me. Listen, I know where the hostages are but I don’t know how to get it to the right people. I know you are the one to do it.”
“Consider it done. Tell me.”
Martin told the location to the Seeker, knowing she wouldn’t fail.

  London.

The young madrigal, known as the Seeker, ran down the dark cobblestone streets of London, glancing up at the towering figure of Big Ben that loomed above her... She stared at the clock. How long did I have? She thought. Every second of the clock pounded into her skull. Tick....tick...tick... I have to focus, she commanded herself. Focus.....focus on what you're here for. Focus on how all of this is on you. Focus on your life. And how failing would cost you it. There were three minutes to midnight, and she was running out of time. She had to get to the airport. Her plane would be leaving soon. She wanted to look back, that there was no time. Every second counted now. She had to get away. And if she couldn't make it, everything would end. Her life. The United States. The world. She couldn't spare a second, for every second was another second to either save billions of people, or let them die the cruelest death possible.           Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), and ArcadeBuckeye2         Grace’s Mansion
Ian grabbed the mail and started sifting through it. He figured he wouldn’t have anything but he could separate it for everyone and put their mail in their rooms. Amy got a burned and torn letter from a teenager in a small village in china. Astrid Rosenbloom was wrong when she told her son that he was the last guardian, there was one other. But she was too late, the Vespers got to him, Ian thought. There were a few more letters for Amy, Nellie, and Fiske. He headed up the stairs to put the letters up as he looked at the last letter. To Dan, hmm, Smells like some cheap perfume, Ian noticed. His curiosity got the better of him and he opened it. Perfect! This is how I will tell everyone I am back. Ian said to himself as he ran up to the C.C.C.

The Seeker was on her way to the Cahill she knew would be able to pass on the location of the hostages. She was looking forward to the hostages being freed and the Vespers stopped. She thought about life after the threat was ended. She stared out the window at the sky. Oops! I almost forgot to call, so she will meet me. The Seeker thought to herself.

Jaylen was tired of everything in life. Ugh, being a Cahill sucks. He thought. It was his 19th mission. Going to a Vesper "location" was not so fun. His 13th mission was the same but it wasn't a Vesper "location" it was a junk yard full of garbage. His phone rang and he answered it with a curt “Hello?”
He wasn’t wanting anymore instructions about the mission.

“Jaylen”
“Yeah.”
“Stop what you are doing and come meet me at the zoo. I have an important message for you.”
“I am suppose to be starting my mission now. How about I meet you later.”
“No! This is even more important than your mission. I can’t explain on the phone. Just hurry.”
There was a click and Jaylen realized the Seeker had hung up. Jaylen was happy not to be going on his mission.

“Bye, mom. See you later.” Jaylen said as he ran to his car.

Jaylen was waiting for the Seeker to arrive. He always enjoyed going to the zoo with his family. There was something about seeing all those animals that made him feel happy. His favorite was the lions. He was staring at the lions when the Seeker arrived. “What is so important?”
“I have the location of the hostages!”
“That’s great! Where are they?”
The Seeker told Jaylen the location and told him to hurry and pass it on to the closest Cahill that could get to Sinead. The Seeker left.

Jaylen stood there staring at the lions as he thought of who would be the best choice to pass the location on to. The lions started to move about. Hey, aren’t there normally six, he thought to himself. The boy heard a sound he turned around and was shocked, he had heard a roar.

Jaylen stared in shock and horror at a sight he never thought would happen. Standing right in front of him was the sixth lion. The lion walked in a slow circle around him, and he watched it as it jumped at him. He managed to jump out of the way.

Jaylen saw a vent nearby and ran toward it. He pried the vent open and dived in just as the lion ran toward him again. He crawled through the vent, unsure of what would happen once he reached his destination. Okay...right, left, left, then right....there was the door. He pried open the grate and climbed out. His heart sank. How did all those Vespers get here, he thought. I bet one of them set the lion loose. He looked left and right, but there was nowhere to turn; they were everywhere. There was only one place he could think of to hide - The old cemetery.         Luckily, the Vespers hadn’t expected him to come out of the vent in that location. Jaylen crawled back through the vent and went another way. He climbed out into the old cemetery. He decided to wait a few hours before heading out. As he waited, he thought again of who he should tell the location to and it hit him. Alivia Osgood of course!  She lived in Attleboro, Massachusetts after all. He decided to risk making a phone call. He hung up. It was all up to her now.

Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), FieryDownpour4, and BreakingHurricane5           Grace’s Mansion
Sinead and Evan were waiting anxiously in the Comm. center. They hadn't heard from Amy and Dad in days. They could only hope that they were okay, and not in Vesper 1's clutches. Sinead decided to take a break from looking at the blank computer screens that had been giving her a head ache. So much pandemonium had happen the last few days; she didn't know how anything could get any worse. Saladin sauntered over to her and slumped his fat belly down on her foot. Sinead leaned down and scratched him behind his ear as he purred quietly. While she did she caught a glance of Evan.
He looked worse than she's even seen him before. His eyes filled with sadness, his hair looked like it hadn't been brushed in days, the way he stared at his cell phone as if it would explode at any moment. The emptiness in his heart from when Amy went off the radar was tearing him apart. Sinead couldn't stand to see him like this, but what could she do?
Suddenly, a loud banging came from the other end of the door leading to the Comm. Center and a horrible gas started seeping into the room. Sinead started to feel light headed, and she could feel her vision slipping away from her. The banging continued and the gas made it sound ten times louder. She knew what was going on, yet she was helpless to do anything about it. Soon she saw Evan drop to the floor, unconscious. She tried to rush over to him, but to no prevail. She too stumbled to the floor, slowly loosing her grasp on reality. Her eyes moved to the door which was now broken of its hinges and hundreds of people had burst through the door way. Vespers. She knew they had come for them. Then everything went black.         Sinead woke up with a start. She sighed in relief. It was only a dream. Then she heard a loud crash from the attic. That must have been the banging I heard in my dream, she thought.

Ian held his Teddy Bear firmly. He knew this would be the last time he- What was that? he wondered. He had heard a bang coming from the attic. He quickly went to see if Sinead had heard it too.           Then the door opened. She did the only thing she could.

“Hello?” she said.

“Hey, did you hear that?” replied Ian.

“Yes, let’s go check it out.”

They headed towards the attic and were joined by the authors as they went. “What was that?” one of them asked.

“Shh! We are going to go see.”
Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), WinningSilver10, CovertSpecialist21           Outside Grace’s Mansion           Sweat beaded her face. No matter how hard she tried her hands would not stop shaking. Very much was depending on how she accomplished the task given to her. Alivia Osgood had run 14 miles to get where she was and now she was stuck. She stood, carefully balanced on the top of the Cahill Mansion fence. Dogs barked and growled on either side of her. "So close!" she muttered. How was she going to get to the front door without getting bit?

Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), LivelyJade1, CaringGold1, and AbleGoing1,           Hotel 10:00 pm
Amy Cahill heard a series of thumps coming from her room. She turned her head and put down the book she was reading. What was going on?Then something crashed to the floor. Amy jumped up and started running up the stairs.
"Daniel! Get out of my room! Dan!" Amy yelled.
"What are you doing?" she demanded as she stood in the doorway of her room. No Dan.
Everything was thrown around. Books knocked off shelves. Her laptop was in pieces on the floor. The sheets and pillows had been torn off her bed. Her pictures of friends torn and scattered. Her antique lamp lay broken on the floor. Papers tossed and moved around on her desk and still fell through the air. What had happened?
"Dan?" she yelled,  no answer. She pulled her cell out of her pocket and realized she had a missed call. She punched in the password to listen to her voice mail as she started cleaning things up.
"Hey Amy, it's Dan. I forgot to tell you I was going to help the Holts. I'm trying to calm them down. They're wanting to go after the Vespers themselves. Amy, the Vespers are going to kill the Holts," he stressed on the 'Vespers, kill, and Holts'. "I won't be back," he stressed again. He seemed to be trying to say something he couldn't.
"Amy, never come looking for me if anything happens. Don't," then the message ended as Amy caught sight of her window. Pieces of the glass were missing and lay on the floor. She stepped back. It made some kind of symbol. She sucked in her breath, her cell slipped from her hand, as she realized two things at once: The Vespers had Dan and the Holts, and the symbol was a “V.”       Amy woke with a start. She had fallen asleep waiting for Jonah and Hamilton to arrive with the Diamond. Amy needed to get that dream out of her head, so she decided to video call Evan. He always seemed to make her feel better. Amy looked at Evan through the computer screen, ''What happened with Jake was a mistake. I was just so happy when he found the lead Evan,'' said Amy who looked like she was about to cry.       ''Oh Ames I forgive you. Oh by the way I found a new lead about the Vespers they...'' said Evan. Then the screen went black.        ''Evan are you ok?'' said Amy. Then the screen went back up but this time Casper, Cheyenne, Luna Amato and Sandy Bancroft stood where Evan was standing before.       ''Hello again Amy,” said Casper, ''but this confrontation is different. You know why? Because we now have the upper hand because we now have access to top notch technology. So don't try something funny, goodbye.''       ''Uh Amy'' said Dan, ''what happened? Did you say something random to a cop in their language because I might have made them think that I really am a ninja.''       Amy stared at Dan. “Dan, didn’t you just see that?”

Dan laughed like a maniac. Dan looked like one of those weirdo cartoon miners with his face all crazy. He lifted a gun to Amy’s face. She screamed and woke with a start again. This time Amy pinched herself to make sure she was awake.

“Ouch!” Definitely awake now, she thought. Just then the Vesper phone beeped as the hotel room door opened. Jonah and Hamilton came in with a look of triumph which turned into a look of concern.

“Yo, what is it?”
Amy showed them the message:
Joe Louis Puppet Theatre. Old Suan Lum Night Bazaar. You have twenty minutes. V-1.
Jonah gave Amy the diamond. Amy and Hamilton left to deliver it.

Jake stared in disbelief, because he didn't believe it. Out of all the days in his life, he would've chosen any other to die. Then they came in the room, holding a... Jake woke with a start.

Dan Cahill smiled. He was NOT frustrated at locking himself in the candy store. He stared at all the candy until he started to smell smoke. Dan didn’t see any fire or smoke but he could smell it. He walked around the store looking for the source of the smell. That is when he noticed the door to the back room. He opened the door. The flames licked the walls, coming closer, and he sprinted the other way, not wanting to look back. He ran out of the store past the flames. Once outside, he glanced back, terrified at what he saw.  "Amy!" Dan cried and ran at top ninja speed toward his sister.
Amy's scream split the air as Dan launched himself onto the back of Casper. But the scene changed. He saw a fuzzy image of an Egyptian Mau zigzagging through the streets in the rain, then darted into the library... Saladin had hardly gotten inside when a hand reached out and grabbed him. "Saladin" cried Dan as the image began to fade. Standing in front of Dan was a familiar looking girl. He was pretty sure she was from school and he was holding a gun.
''Come on,” said the girl “what are you waiting for? Just shoot me and let's get this over with.''
The gun trembled in Dan's hand, he didn't want to admit it, but he was terrified. The girl, on the other hand, seemed perfectly calm. An evil smile on her face, her ''V'' shaped necklace swinging with the wind.       He lifted the gun and became trigger happy again. Then he looked as if he'd been shot. There, in front of him laid Uncle Alistair. Shot. By him. Dan sat up in bed. Jake and Atticus were staring at him.
“Are you alright?” Atticus asked.

“I’m okay. Just a bad dream. Hey, have Jonah and Hamilton arrived yet.”
“I don’t know. We were asleep until you woke us.” Jake replied.
“Yo, dude you okay in there?” Jonah called through the door.

Vesper One's tall body rose over Nellie Gomez as she gasped. “Any last words?” he said before he pulled the trigger. Nellie woke with a start. She heard Natalie whimpering next to her.        Natalie had never imagined such a thing would happen to a girl like her. She was being chased across the world by her mother. Ian of course was with her. She woke up as Nellie shook her. “Thanks, Nellie. I was having that dream again.”
Just then the door opened. In came three people being carried. They were placed on the ground and their carriers left. The door thudded shut. The hostages ran to the new arrivals. “Ted!” they yelled.

They lost hope of a quick rescue. They doubted Ted had enough time to tell anyone their whereabouts. They wondered who the two girls were that had been brought in with him.

  Location Unknown
The Vesper looked down at his wristwatch. The effects should be kicking in by now, he thought. They should all finally realize why I have done all of this.
Unfortunately, Vesper One had not realized another Vesper had switched out the “Secret Through a Dream” serum with the “Nightmare” Serum. So instead of passing on his secret, he was giving everyone nightmares.

Back to the task at hand, he thought. The Vesper got ready to inject the poison in the sleeping body with a syringe. When he was just about to put it in, he heard a CRASH and saw a silhouette coming toward him. He ran. That was close, Arthur Trent thought. I’ll get him next time.

Brought to you by WritingArt2 (me), ProudChallenger12, ActressTurquoise10, AquaDragon501, AmberAdventure186, SingingPrincess5, and AgentChallenger140         Joe Louis Puppet Theatre. Old Suan Lum Night Bazaar 10 minutes to spare
  “Closed.”

“How are we going to get in there?” asked Hamilton.

“Look for a way in. Hurry!”

Amy and Hamilton desperately searched for a way into the building. Then Amy found it. Amy clutched the container with the Diamond in it for dear life. She wouldn't let it slip out of her hands this time. Not again. This was the most vital part of her mission, and she wasn't going to lose it. She put the container in her backpack and that’s when she should have seen the masked figure lurking in the shadows. She crawled through the opening in the fence and stood up. There he was. He was pointing a gun between her eyes. She didn't put up a fight. She shrugged her backpack of her shoulder and tossed it to him. It was over. He jumped over the fence and took off. Amy was about to go find Hamilton when she saw what was coming at her. The panther. She could see his shining bright eyes. She was being hunted, and there was no way she could out run the panther. She couldn't hide. There was only one way out. And it would probably kill her. But, if she didn't, she would be eaten alive.       Amy couldn't breathe. Although she knew she was about to die, all she could think about was Dan. Would he live? Would he know how much she loved him? Amy dived for the open door to the building. She made it and slammed the door.

In her panic, she had not realized the panther wasn’t real and meant to scare away trespassers. Amy stood there catching her breath with relief. Once she could breathe normally again, Amy started down the hallway looking for another way out. This place looks abandoned, she thought. Suddenly she started to hear footsteps behind her. Amy ran for her life through the dark hallway. The footsteps behind her were getting louder every second. Her heart was racing when she came to a dead end. She was stuck.       “Amy?” a voice called.

What is Dan doing here? She thought. “Dan, I’m over here.” She called.

“There you are. We have been looking for you. Jonah told us where you went.”
“Didn’t you see the panther?”
“Oh, yeah, that scared Jake pretty good. He didn’t realize it was fake.”
“Fake?”
“Yeah. Hey did they take it yet?”

“Yes.”
“Okay, then let’s get out of here.”
“Alright.”

Jake and Hamilton joined them as they turned to leave. Just then they heard a laugh. Dan Cahill looked up to see Casper and Cheyenne Wyoming jump at them. Amy yelled as Jake and Hamilton charged Cheyenne. Dan tried some ninja moves on Casper only hurting himself. Jake and Hamilton managed to subdue Cheyenne by ramming her into a column. The column collapsed on top of her knocking her out but not before she knocked out Hamilton. Amy jumped on Casper’s back trying to choke him. Just then a loud creaking noise sounded.

"RUN!!" Amy screamed over the rumble of the falling building. "GET OUT, DAN!"       Dan didn't budge. "Why?!"       "JUST RUN, DAN!"        "But Amy!"        Casper gripped Amy tighter on the neck, so hard Amy was gasping for breath. "RUN DAN!"       Tears were filling Dan's eyes as a piece of the caving in building fell on top of Jake and knocked him out. "I'm not running!" Dan screamed back.        "GO, DAN!" Amy replied in an even louder voice.       Dan made up his mind, grabbed Hamilton, who was just coming to, and Jake, and fled the building, just as a crash announced that Amy was stuck with Casper in a collapsed building. Dan collapsed. “NOOOO!!!” he cried. “Amy!”
He thought about the tragic way Amy died, and how Vesper One succeeded. He envisioned pulling out the box. Counting each ingredient. 39. Excellent. He would put each ingredient in a cup, and then he hesitated. Should I really do this? He thought. Then without a second thought, he saw himself gulping down the serum. Dan felt a tug on his shoulder. He held onto the image of the serum until a single word broke through. Alive. “What?”
“She’s alive, Dan. Alive!” Jake and Hamilton were screaming.

Just then Dan saw Amy coming towards him. He jumped up and ran to her. “Amy! You’re alive!”
“Of course I am dweeb.” Amy hoped Dan couldn’t see how scared she was. He could never know how close she came to death. “Casper let me go, grabbed Cheyenne and took off. I just ran until I was out.”  Dan still hadn’t let her go.

“Let’s get out of here. Someone is bound to notice.” Jake replied.

“Let’s go.” Amy agreed.

The Vesper agent did a back flip and landed. Safe, he breathed a sigh of relief, he was safe. He repeated his instructions inside his head: get in, get the intel, and get out, don’t get killed.
Don’t get killed. He raced over to the side of the window and quickly scaled the uneven brick wall, opened the window and landed with a quiet bump on the carpet. He produced a lock pick out of nowhere and quickly picked the lock on the filing cabinet, reached in extracted some files and shut the cabinet. He looked round the room, making sure everything looked like it had been before.
 Don’t get killed.
He had just reached the window when....           After he unlatched the door, Lightfinger Larry stepped inside. Sinead had asked him to come by. By the looks of things, everyone must have been in bed. Just then he heard a noise. He could identify that noise anywhere. Someone was using a lock pick. He followed the noise and looked in the room. He never would have expected his old enemy, Heavyfoot Harry, to be inside. The two had known each other since high school, and Larry knew better than to mess with him. But he had to. One way or the other he had to stop Harry.
"Going somewhere?" that cold voice like steel, echoed through the room. The door slammed with a bang.
Don’t get killed. Oops.
Now Heavyfoot Harry was going to die all because of her, because of her, because of Cheyenne. If she hadn’t told him to come here, he wouldn’t have been in this situation.

 The Hotel entrance

Dan, Amy, Hamilton, and Jake returned to the hotel. When they arrived, Jonah was outside talking to some girl. Amy noticed the person behind them. "It can't be." Amy breathed looking at the figure who had locked eyes with Amy and Dan and ran.

"I thought..." Dan said some one was back from the dead.

"Yo hommies! Meet my friend Hommie Karma Long!" Jonah boomed.

Amy and Dan barely noticed their rapping cousin, all that mattered is that they saw, a zombie, a person from the dead.

With a quick glance at each other, Amy and Dan told the others to stay and they went to follow the man.

Amy crept along, through the streets keeping just a few feet behind the mysterious man she had been following.  She thought he was familiar, but she could not think of where she had seen him.  He stooped inside a clearing now, Amy inched toward the figure. This could not be happening, how could he be here? She wondered. Just then he turned around, she stared. They had followed him for nothing. It wasn’t Mr. McIntyre after all. They backed up into the alley. Dan and Amy slumped. They had hoped they had found him alive after all.

Amy shrieked. Dan jumped. The alley was suddenly aglow with festive lights with dark auras around them. A shadowy figure trotted towards them, a long object visible in the silhouette of this person...or thing. It was the man again and he had a cane. “I thought I saw you guys following me. Did you need some help?”

“No, we thought you were our relative. Sorry.”

“Quite alright. Here let me take you to your hotel. You will be safe with me, I am a cop.”

Dan and Amy exchanged glances. They decided it was okay. As the man walked them back, he got a phone call. Smiling he looked at them. “Sorry guys, I need to make a stop at the precinct. Won’t take a minute and we will be on our way.”
Amy and Dan were wary but they went along.

As they neared the building, the shape of a figure out front became very familiar. Luna Amato. They didn’t hesitate.
Amy leapt on top of a red car's roof. As she landed, the breath was knocked out of her. She inhaled deeply and jumped to the next car. Her heart was racing. Was he still following her? She turned back. Dan leapt right next to her. Yep, the man and Luna were still chasing them. Dan and Amy landed on the street.

"No, AMY! We can't!!" Dan Cahill wailed as he and Amy ran across the slippery streets of Bangkok, which was at the moment under a downpour. "We'll TOTALLY get caught!!" he exclaimed.

Amy Cahill lost her balance for a split second, and nearly landed face-first into the hard, cold sidewalk cement. If she even slowed down for a minute, they'd be caught. But now, of all times, she did. Dan looked back and froze in fear, for there they were. The people who had been chasing them down for the last twenty six blocks. How were they going to get away from them? they thought.

A black van pulled along side them.
“Grab my hand Amy” yelled Hamilton as Jake reached out to grab Dan.

“How did you guys find us?” asked Amy.

“Who’s driving?” Dan wanted to know.

“The guys gave me a call when you didn’t come back. Luckily I was in the area.” called Erasmus from the driver’s seat. They filled each other in as they headed to another hotel.

 Grace’s Mansion

Saladin ran toward the bedroom where Grace used to sleep. He smelled a familiar scent. .the scent of his guardian. There she was, standing, smiling with such affection. She's alive. She definitely is. With a “Mrrrp”, Saladin awoke. What was that? questioned Saladin. He thought he heard a noise upstairs. He hurried his way up the stairs. Why were all of them out in the hallway, he wondered, I will just follow them and see.

Sinead silently tiptoed across the laboratory, collecting small pieces of metal along the way. She wondered what was making all that noise in the attic. Sinead's chest tightened. Small spaces had never bothered her as much as it did Ned, but under the circumstances, she could understand his phobia. So many people were surrounding her. They slowly moved upward silently preparing for what they could find. They reached the C.C.C. and a single figure stood over an unconscious one.

“What happened? How did you two get in here?” Sinead demanded.

Lightfinger Larry looked at the crowd in the doorway. “I came to see you like you asked. I came in and heard him. We started fighting and he ran for it. I stopped him once he got in here. I didn’t mean to wake the whole house.” Larry handed some papers to Sinead, “He tried to take these. Should I get him out of here for you?”

“Yes, uhm, Ian will you call the police and let them know we caught a prowler.”

“I guess we can go back to bed.” Gordon said.

  Later that night

Sinead and Ian sat across the table from each other, waiting for the world to come crashing down on both of them. The police had left a half hour earlier with Heavyfoot Harry. Neither one of them was ready to go to bed yet. All they could do was think of the crazy things that had happened. They never expected this threat from the Vespers. People always thought they were crazy, but they didn't know the whole story. Just then, Attleboro's security system shook them from their dazed expressions to alert them of an intruder. They ran down the stairs to see if another Vesper spy was trying to break in. As they reached the door, there was a knock. A knock on the door in the middle of the night never means good news even under normal circumstances. They opened the door ready for anything. They stared at a huffing and puffing girl.

“EkToMaLuJa” she said and collapsed.

“Quick, get her some water!” Sinead yelled at Ian.

Ian ran for the water. By the time he came back, the girl was coming to.

“Calm down. Here take a drink. Wait to tell us until you can catch your breath.” Sinead was coaxing.

A few minutes later, the girl was able to breathe normally and quickly told them why she was there.

“Wake the others. We have to tell Amy and Dan.” They ran to wake everyone up.

Bangkok, Thailand

Dan Cahill walked into his bedroom and saw the playing card on his bed. As soon as he saw it, Dan knew it was no ordinary playing card. How did it get there? No one knew where they had gone. When he flipped to the other side, he saw the letters, AJT. Then some sort of code, but what did it say......

An invitation to join the Vespers.

Dan had never thought he would do this. Ever since he was 11, he swore he would never do this. He had always thought of this as worse than dying. So why was he doing this? Why was he becoming a vesper? Because Amy and Dan couldn't watch a family member die...especially in a place like a holding cell. It’s even an unpleasant place to die. Ian would dare to say. They were all working hard, trying to discover and trying to find where the seven Cahills are. And prove to themselves that they were not like the other Cahills years and years ago. These new Cahills were the answer to Madeline's prayer, a unity at last. Amy and Dan were trying their best to still continue their Madrigal's leader wish, uniting them together and to protect the Cahill name from any harm. Dan knew that right now the best way to do so was for him to tell his father, yes. He had to join the Vespers to find the hostages and free them before another one was hurt or killed. He pulled out his phone and sent a text.

  Location Unknown

Arthur Trent smiled as he received the text from Dan. He knew Dan would understand and join him.

Vikram Kabra finally was released from the chair he was duct taped to. And the gag and blindfold were removed. The face approaching his was not anyone. At least it wasn't Isabel. But other than that, it was worse. This nobody was actually alive. He was supposed to be dead. He had died in a fire so many years ago. “Good to see you again Vikram.” Arthur said.

“But, …How… That’s impossible!”

“No, I survived the fire your wife started. But let’s not talk about that. I have your daughter. I expect you to cooperate.”

Amy, Dan, Hamilton, Jonah, Jake, and Atticus were sitting in the new hotel room wondering when the next message from Vesper One would come. Dan had disappeared for awhile and had just come back. They stared at the Vesper phone expecting the beep but not the ring of Amy’s phone. Amy saw it was Sinead calling. I wonder what they have found out, she thought.

“Hello.” A pause.

Amy jumped up and screamed, “YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!”

“What is it Amy?” the others said.

“They know where the hostages are! Yes, Sinead I’m still here. Uh-huh! As soon as we can. Bye”

To Jonah she said, “How soon can your plane be ready to take us home?”

“Yo, I’m on it.”

Amy and Dan Cahill still had an extraordinary job to do. They have followed all the unusual requests of Vesper 1, but still they have to undergo something that would make Vesper 1 stop. They have to make a plan quick. They have to before something else happened to some of the seven imprisoned Cahills or it could end up badly.

 Hostage Location

"This is it" Peter breathed. They were coming up to a dark grey building in the middle of no where, away from the city, away from help if they were to need it.

"Ok everyone, listen up! We don't have long. We get in there, find our people and get out. Simple?" Rick instructed.

"Ready" Amy and Dan said together.

"Ready as we'll ever be, I guess" Ian said, sounding uncomfortable. Everyone else nodded as we got to the only cover we could find, a few trees.

"What are those things near the door?" Dan asked pointing at little black moving things by their entrance. Jude glared at the devices.

"Cameras, Patrick, did you bring the gun?" she asked. The tall man handed her a mini gun which stored black dry-quick ink. When in position she waited for command.

"Now!" Amy ordered. She pulled the trigger and the ink directly hit the cameras.

"Now GO! GO! GO!" David yelled.

They all bolted for the door, trying to keep up with one another. The place looks creepier up close Hamilton noted. "Groups! Get in your groups, when we get it in we split up." Roland instructed.

Amy, Ian, David, Peter, Linda, Margaret and Roland found their way to each other and so did Dan, Hamilton, Rick, Gordon, Jude, Evan and Patrick. Once ready Hamilton opened the door and there waiting for them was the one and only Wyoming twins.

"Well, well, well look who we have here. Cahills! HA! I thought I'd never see the day. What about you Cheyenne?" A Buff guy snickered, walking towards us with a sharp butcher's knife.

"Yes, I didn't think the authors knew" a girl said coming from behind her brother.

"C-c-Casper d-d-don't e-e-e-" Amy's stutter was making it hard for her to stay clam. She took a deep breath and tried again. "Casper, don't even think about hurting any of us" she warned.

"Or what? You'll hurt us? Please!" Cheyenne smirked. Amy took a step and kicked Casper in the ribs with her other foot. Casper fell to the floor, which knocked Cheyenne in the process. They both lay on the floor unconscious.

"Nice move sister!" Sinead's voice was heard through Amy's ear piece.

"Thanks, now it's time to split" Amy smiled. The one big group split into two equal groups. One going left and the other going right.

Around the corner, elevators were ready to be used. David pressed the down button and the elevator door opened. They got in and the doors closed. It took them to level 5.

With a ding the doors opened again and they got out. The group looked around to find rows of doors on each side of the wall were named. "Hey look! Over there!" Roland cried, pointing at a sign on one of the doors a bit further down the hall.

Cahill

"Bingo!" Ian exclaimed. He ran to the door only to find a key pad and a card slot. "Blast it!" he said, hitting the door out of frustration.

"What was that?" a familiar British female voice shrieked. Natalie!

"Nat!" he called. Peter came up from behind him and slid a card in the slot. "Where'd you get it?" Ian asked, bewildered.

"The twins, one had the card, one had the code" he explained. Peter pressed five numbers on the key pad.

Click.

The door opened and several confused faces stared at us. "Ian! What are you doing here?" Natalie asked, obviously not knowing what she just said.

Ian looked at her up and down. "Saving your fashion sense! That's what!"

The room erupted with happiness as the family reunited with their loved ones. The authors decided to stay outside the door. "How did you find us?" young Phoenix asked. They all were listening in now.

"Why tell you when we can show you? Guys come in" Ian said, much happier now hat he is with his sister.

One by one the authors revealed themselves to the hostages. "What I'd tell ya Nat? You did the right thing!" Nellie exclaimed.

"Yes, you did. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't be here. But if I could just say, we better get a move on before –" Linda stopped in her tracks when she saw a shadow coming from behind.

"Very good Cahills, very good indeed." the man said calmly. They all turned to see Vesper One only steps away; holding what seemed to be a gun..

Hostage Location

"Hi Moonface." Tears came to Dan's eyes. He rubbed the back of his hand across his eyes, before turning. Arthur Trent stood in front of him. His father stood in front of him.

"W-What are you doing here?" Dan asked.

"Watching my marvelous kids figure out how to free the captives. I knew you wouldn't give up on them!" Some Vespers ran around the corner. Arthur shooed them away.

"Are you Vesper one?"

Arthur nodded. "Let’s talk" he said.

Dan's eyes turned to slits and his hands turned to fists. "You tried to KILL my friends!" He yelled.

"I needed the serum. Your friends’ safety was your motivation. I know that you do have the serum, though. You've been collecting it...won't you give it to your father?"

Arthur’s eyes were soft, his gaze full of love. But Dan could see his father's eyes flicker from him, to his backpack, where he kept the serum.

"No. No. Not now, NOT EVER." He stepped hard on his father's foot and ran. He could hear his father yelling.

"You're no son of mine!" Arthur screamed.
Dan wanted to cover his ears, but he kept on running. He saw a tunnel and took it. He could hear running behind him and Amy yelling at him to stop. He couldn’t. He was too upset. Amy and Dan ran down the cave as fast as they could. They couldn't be caught by their father. Or could they? Amy thought. They ran into a dead end. The only way to go was up. They started to climb. Once they reached the top, they looked down to see if anyone was following them. They saw Sinead climbing up but no one else. They hoped the others had gotten to safety.

Sinead had to stand on the tips of her toes to reach the top of the rock wall. What is that? She pulled herself up, to find someone pulling her down. She looked down to see Vesper One or Arthur Trent, she didn’t know which name to use was trying to pull her off. She kicked him in the face and he fell. She climbed up next to Amy and Dan. “Vesper One is down there. We have to go!” Sinead insisted. She ran to find a way out.

"Why not come up here if you’re so brave!" Amy Cahill shouted at Vesper 1. He grunted and started climbing.

“Why did you say that, Amy?” Dan squeaked. He didn’t want to see his father ever again.

Soon Arthur Trent/Vesper One was at the top. He reached up and managed to pull Dan down. Vesper One stood on the top looking down at his son. Why didn’t he understand?

"No one can defeat me, I am Vesper 1!" replied a raspy voice as Dan held on for dear life.

V1 lifted his big boot and started to come done on Dan's hand. Amy grabbed Vesper One and pulled him away from Dan. Vesper one turned on her. Maybe she would understand, he thought.

Amy saw the man was holding a gun. Yes, the man. She refused to see him as her father. Not the man who she had mourned for all these years.

"Tell me what the secret is! Tell me what the ingredients for the serum are." He yelled.

"No!" Amy shot back.

Why didn’t they understand why he needed the serum? Arthur thought frustrated.

Then she heard the gun set off. She thought she was dead. Then she realized she wasn’t hurt. She opened her eyes. There laid Vesper One, dead. Dead. She looked for the person who shot him. Standing behind her was Erasmus.

“I’m sorry Amy. I didn’t want to kill him but I had to. He would have killed you.”

“Thanks,” she said shaken. Dan climbed back up and hugged his sister. They stood there crying. Crying for the father they thought they had. Crying for the end of the Vesper threat. Crying for everything that had happened.

And then everything went black. She had fainted.

A few minutes later.

Amy looked around. Vespers were everywhere. They had all been rounded up. Those that hadn’t been killed were now bound.

Grace’s Mansion

Everyone was gathered. They had decided that whatever the Vespers had wanted should stay buried. They had searched the location for the missing artifacts that Amy and Dan had stolen for them but did not recover a single one. They figured the artifacts were hidden and would stay hidden. The letter Gloria found for Jonah and Hamilton was safely locked away. The authors decided to let the secret be, too and went back to work writing other stories for their readers and hopefully the Cahills to enjoy. Everyone agreed to try and live normal lives. Be normal everyday people and not worry about anything again. No more clues to find. No more Vespers to worry about. They had been found and imprisoned. There was nothing left to do but move on with their lives.

Sometime after Vespers’ defeat

Amy stared at her mom’s engagement ring as it rolled back and forth on the coffee table.  The fire danced in the hearth. It cast a golden glow on the ring and made the diamond sparkle.  Suddenly Amy sat up and looked at the ring a bit closer.  She realized that on the inside of the ring were two sentences. She took the ring and looked at it closer.  “What exactly did it say?”  She thought to herself. She wrote the code out. It would take a minute to decipher. She was out of practice. When she finally figured it out, she gasped.

Amy paused, the message had finally been decoded, a letter from the past from Arthur Trent.

It said: Remember I love you and I will always love you. The Vespers won’t win.

Amy didn’t know what to think. How could her father say that and become a Vesper?

Amy's eyes wandered around the place, and for a moment she felt like she was being watched. She immediately tensed when she caught a movement behind her, her instincts taking over. She knew something was wrong, but was determined to keep herself from having conclusions like that -this time, she would not allow herself to believe in something wrong, something that did not exist. Lately, she seemed to have a lot thoughts such like this one -the feeling of being watched, followed. Suddenly...Amy remembered she was supposed to take Dan to Super Adventure Fun Land. Amy Cahill put the pencil down; she had been doing her homework with. She got up and walked downstairs to make sure Dan wasn't causing too much "havoc and destruction." “Come on Dan! Let’s go, I have to get back and finish my homework.”

Grace’s Mansion

Amy Cahill took a deep breath, she had just locked herself out of the house, had left Dan at Super Adventure Fun land, and forgot to Call Evan. Then she heard the sound of moving bushes. There had been a time when that sound would have caused her to pounce but not since they had defeated the Vespers. Amy peered into the bush to see Saladin. “Oh, Saladin. Did I lock you out too?”

“Mrrrp!”

Amy now and again had found a use for a skill she learned on the clue hunt and against the Vespers. Right now it was the lock picking skills. She let herself and Saladin into the house.

Amy went to put her purse up and find her keys. She came back down the stairs. As she was passing the hallway to the front door, there was a loud knock, she walked to it and opened, her jaw dropped..."Kurt?" she said.

“Hi, Amy!”

“What are you doing here?”

“I was in the neighborhood and I thought I would come and catch up with you and Dan. Where is the guy?”

“I will get him in a few hours. Come on it.”

Alexis knew when she signed up to be a Cahill-Vesper double agent that she'd get into odd situations.  She just never expected she'd be dangling from a cliff by a bobby pin.
She couldn't continue. Her life- thrown away. She had failed the Vespers, she was on the run from them. The Madrigals? Her own branch? They would never take her back. She was done for. All of that training she went through- down the drain, why should she even bother to climb up? But she could see that one glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel; maybe...just maybe things would work out. She knew a secret that could get her acceptance.

"You may want to take a look at this." Emma said.

"Oh no" Jaylen said "this hasn’t happened since…"

Just then the lights went out.

Hospital

Ted Starling was ecstatic. He was going to have his vision back, and he couldn't wait. He and Ned had come up with the new procedure, making the operation risk free. Ned’s operation to stop the headaches had been a great success and his would be too.

  Side of the road

Natalie Kabra was watching the warm coloured Autumn leaves dance to the ground outside the car. She heard a loud pop behind her. Their tire had gone flat. Madison and Reagan. Took a closer look. No hint of a clue. No idea what caused it to go flat.

But then they heard a strange noise. They both turned around. This was a key to solving their problem. Ian and Hamilton had arrived. “Thanks for coming.”

Hamilton got out of the car. They know perfectly well how to change a tire, he thought. Ever since they had defeated the Vespers, the twins had acted like girly girls that don’t know how to do anything anymore. Hamilton smiled. He knew they were Holts and Holts couldn’t act that way for long.

With the tire changed, Hamilton got back into the car with Ian and watched the girls drive off. He turned back to Ian.

"Dude, if you don't tell her now she will find someone better than Evan and you will me more miserable than you are now," Hamilton Holt reminded his cousin, Ian. "Go talk to her!"
