Era:The Story of a Futuristic Cahill/Vesper World
*sighs* Wouldn't it be something if there was a world without wars? Without the fight between Cahills and Vespers, where Cahills and Vespers lived in harmony? Well, that's just a wonderful dream...
Or is it? This dream comes true in this fanfic! Era takes place in the year 5000, a futuristic world/year. By this time, the Cahills and Vespers have tired of the fighting, and have lived 3000 years without anymore wars. And they have changed human history.
The Ekats have invented all of the futuristic things that we can only dream of: invisibility, time travel, ESP, flying cars, multi-terrain trucks, mind erasing, etc. The Janus have innovated art as we know it: designing outrageous looking building, recreating the Twin Towers, and completely changing pop culture. (For you JB and MC haters, there are no more washed out bad singers who are famous anymore!) The Lucians have led the world, occupying presidential jobs in many different countries. The Tomas have dominated sporting events, trekking to outlandish places, setting world records, and even founding a new country in Antarctica, Panem. (Recognize the THG reference? I want to be Katniss for Halloween!) The Madrigals have secured world peace; there have been no wars since the wars in the Middle East have ceased. And the Vespers have become downrigfht criminals, but have ceased their ways- so far.
Era is about the life of the Cahill and Vesper children during this period. But there is an unrest between the rivals. Something is stirring. An old rivalry is uncovered from a Madrigal library, the only ones who have kept the previous war from the new generation...and the fight begins.
Will there ever be a thing called peace? Or will life be destroyed as we know it? And will the Cahills and Vespers finally come out of the shadows and reveal themselves to the world? Only we Cahills can find out, in this fanfic.
Wow, that was very dramatic. Anyway, I have one character named Wren Harding, but have writers block for the rest! Wren is a Madrigal. If you are interested in this fanfic, please submit a charrie for me to use. Thank you.

"Come on Guys," I mutterd to myself. "Hey Adrienne," I heard someone say behind me. I turned around to see Damion.
"Hi-Hi Damion!" I said. Come on Adrienne stop Stuttering!
"What are you doing out here?" He ask sitting next to me.
"Waiting for my friends. And you?" I said, Playing it cool. Okay guys take AS long as you want!
"Cool. And i'm Waiting for Aislyn." Damion said. My mouth Bunched up at her name.

Chapter 5: Libraries Really Suck

It was a bit cold today in the M library. What's with the airconditioner? I rubbed my hands against my arms even though I was wearing a thick black sweater.
I sat on one of the long tables because I was supposed to be expecting someone. The library wasn't that full--most people nowadays just do research online. But there are still some annoying girls who keep trying to talk to me about my elder brother. Seriously, are these girls really that desperate? What do they see in him? They deserve better. But they seem bent on getting me to introduce them to my brother, so I took one of the thickest books in the library and pretended that I was reading them. Its quite an old trick, but it works. People tend to avoid you and refrains from sitting at your table.
The book was open, and my eyes were on the words, but I was in a more faraway world. Just two days ago, actually. I remembered Annie's (don't you ven dare tell her that I called her that!) confused face as Alafara introduced us. She didn't even recognize me at first! Not even a single, "Hi, Luke!"
Well, what was I actually expecting? Please. Like she'll ever notice me. You must be thinking, "How could you like that 14-year old girl? You're already 16!" Well, here's the thing.
We all grew up in Caper Falls. Via conspiracy from my family, the Vespers, I've always been with her in at least one class. Made us sit near each other too. And all those time, I've worshipped her from afar. From 1st Grade's class recital where she shocked everyone with her clear soprano, to the time she kicked a guy unconscious back at 5th Grade. The guy being my older brother, Draco, is a bonus.
This year, we were Science lab partners. She's quite good with chemistry, but sometimes, her concoctions are so potent that they could be classiffied as deadly poison. Its like she always wants to kill somebody. I have to neutralize chemical before the teacher checks on us so that we won't flunk and kill the teacher.
When I had taken Alafara and Marissa home that night, since I saw her beside their mailbox, our mailbox also piqued my interest. When I checked our mail, it mostly consisted of bills and love letters for Draco. Since he doesn't really read any of them and just burns they one by one, I decided to slip it in his schoolbag to annoy him. When I again checked the mail, there was one lone message for me.
Luke, I've been wanting to talk to you for a while. Meet me in two days at the M library. You'll know who I am.
Could it be from...no. It can't be possibly from her. Our conversations usually sound like this:
"What page is the activity again?" She'd ask.
"Page 142." I'd answer.
or
"Please pass the Mercury." She'd say.
"Here."
"Thanks." She'd say that with a poker face.
"Here use this beaker." Why do I still bother trying to be helpful? She's a formidable young lady!
"Thanks." A little softer this time.
Charming, right?
Only now did this question occur to me: Why the M library? I'm not a Cahill, I'm a Vesper. Even if a fellow Vesper would call for a rendezvous point, it wouldn't be here. Its too risky since we would be on enemy territory. Its not that we're off-limits here--the library is for everybody. The top secret Cahill-Madrigal documents are under lock and key--or so I heard. Its just weird to invite a Vesper here since the Madrigals and Vespers were bitter enemies for quite a long time. Still are actually. I could've sworn that the librarian's staring at me the whole time.
I lift my head to first see the surly face of the librarian, and then to those familiar blue eyes. Anastasia. Her friends soon followed her in.
I looked her, perplexed. Could she be the one who gave me that letter? Her eyes met mine and she frowned, like she didn't expect me to be here either.
Well how could she not? Like I said, there's little to no communication between the two of us.
Imagine my surprise when she and her friends headed towards my table.
After they sat down, all they did was give each other nervous glances. Two of them were cracking up. Stranger and stranger...
After I think five minutes of awkward silence, Anastasia spoke up. "So, what did you want to talk about?" She huffed like she was annoyed that she had to be here. Does everything that comes out of her mouth have to be so harsh?
"Excuse me?" I gulped. I've been doing a bit of my own investigation these past few months but seriously--I have no clue to what she is talking about.
"We believe--well, my friends believe you might be the one who gave me this letter." She handed me a folded sheet of paper.
Anastasia, I've been wanting to talk to you for a while. Meet me in teo days at the M library. You'll know who I am.
My cheeks immediately began to burn. "Th-This isn't from me?" I am, as my brother always says, socially decrepit. "I got the same note." I added. I showed her the only note for me among Draco's love letters.
She raised an eyebrow. "So...you're assuming that I'm the one who sent you this?"
"N-No! That's not it! Its just..." I was cut short by a sound that nearly shattered our eardrums.
~~So...how was it? I am truly sorry. Its just that I got sidetracked by schoolwork and stuff.

But there are still some annoying girls who keep trying to talk to me about my elder brother. Seriously, are these girls really that desperate? What do they see in him? They deserve better. But they seem bent on getting me to introduce them to my brother, so I took one of the thickest books in the library and pretended that I was reading them. Its quite an old trick, but it works. People tend to avoid you and refrains from sitting at your table.
The book was open, and my eyes were on the words, but I was in a more faraway world. Just two days ago, actually. I remembered Annie's (don't you ven dare tell her that I called her that!) confused face as Alafara introduced us. She didn't even recognize me at first! Not even a single, "Hi, Luke!"
Well, what was I actually expecting? Please. Like she'll ever notice me. You must be thinking, "How could you like that 14-year old girl? You're already 16!" Well, here's the thing.
We all grew up in Caper Falls. Via conspiracy from my family, the Vespers, I've always been with her in at least one class. Made us sit near each other too. And all those time, I've worshipped her from afar. From 1st Grade's class recital where she shocked everyone with her clear soprano, to the time she kicked a guy unconscious back at 5th Grade. The guy being my older brother, Draco, is a bonus.
This year, we were Science lab partners. She's quite good with chemistry, but sometimes, her concoctions are so potent that they could be classiffied as deadly poison. Its like she always wants to kill somebody. I have to neutralize chemical before the teacher checks on us so that we won't flunk and kill the teacher.
When I had taken Alafara and Marissa home that night, since I saw her beside their mailbox, our mailbox also piqued my interest. When I checked our mail, it mostly consisted of bills and love letters for Draco. Since he doesn't really read any of them and just burns they one by one, I decided to slip it in his schoolbag to annoy him. When I again checked the mail, there was one lone message for me.
Luke, I've been wanting to talk to you for a while. Meet me in two days at the M library. You'll know who I am.
Could it be from...no. It can't be possibly from her. Our conversations usually sound like this:
"What page is the activity again?" She'd ask.
"Page 142." I'd answer.
or
"Please pass the Mercury." She'd say.
"Here."
"Thanks." She'd say that with a poker face.
"Here use this beaker." Why do I still bother trying to be helpful? She's a formidable young lady!
"Thanks." A little softer this time.
Charming, right?
Only now did this question occur to me: Why the M library? I'm not a Cahill, I'm a Vesper. Even if a fellow Vesper would call for a rendezvous point, it wouldn't be here. Its too risky since we would be on enemy territory. Its not that we're off-limits here--the library is for everybody. The top secret Cahill-Madrigal documents are under lock and key--or so I heard. Its just weird to invite a Vesper here since the Madrigals and Vespers were bitter enemies for quite a long time. Still are actually. I could've sworn that the librarian's staring at me the whole time.
I lift my head to first see the surly face of the librarian, and then to those familiar blue eyes. Anastasia. Her friends soon followed her in.
I looked her, perplexed. Could she be the one who gave me that letter? Her eyes met mine and she frowned, like she didn't expect me to be here either.
Well how could she not? Like I said, there's little to no communication between the two of us.
Imagine my surprise when she and her friends headed towards my table.
After they sat down, all they did was give each other nervous glances. Two of them were cracking up. Stranger and stranger...
After I think five minutes of awkward silence, Anastasia spoke up. "So, what did you want to talk about?" She huffed like she was annoyed that she had to be here. Does everything that comes out of her mouth have to be so harsh?
"Excuse me?" I gulped. I've been doing a bit of my own investigation these past few months but seriously--I have no clue to what she is talking about.
"We believe--well, my friends believe you might be the one who gave me this letter." She handed me a folded sheet of paper.
Anastasia, I've been wanting to talk to you for a while. Meet me in teo days at the M library. You'll know who I am.
My cheeks immediately began to burn. "Th-This isn't from me?" I am, as my brother always says, socially decrepit. "I got the same note." I added. I showed her the only note for me among Draco's love letters.
She raised an eyebrow. "So...you're assuming that I'm the one who sent you this?"
"N-No! That's not it! Its just..." I was cut short by a sound that nearly shattered our eardrums.
~~So...how was it? I am truly sorry. Its just that I got sidetracked by schoolwork and stuff.
