Hello people this is a story written by Julia (AuthorBlue4) and me! :) Just one thing before I begin: this story might not be satisfying, so I'll really appreciate if you'll post something worthwhile! Start of the story:

The sky was inky black, with the occasional streaks of grey floating across. Lotus lay on her back on the grass, her hands cupped to form a cushion for her head to rest on. She watched as lightning raced across the sky, disappearing after less than half a second. Its companion, the thunder, tread slower, invisible to everything. A small red ball of fire arced as if hurled from a catapult, striking a building. A fire erupted, the smoke sending its foul-smelling tendrils into the air. Lotus looked around for the source of the flame ball. Her watchful eyes were rewarded with the faint shadow of a laughing man. The accent, the way he laughed, informed her that the man belonged to the rival city of Orgus. Rarely did anyone from the other cities come to Nisle to cause trouble and wreak havoc, but that did not mean that it never happened.

Lotus sighed. Why couldn't the cities just unite? After all, weren't they going along pretty well before the First War? She shook her head in disbelief. It seemed impossible for them to have been friendly with each other before, but now the mere sight of the murdering fire ball gave Lotus the fuel and determination to unite the four cities. Screams of terror echoed from the flaming building. Lotus felt heartless, lying comfortably on the grass bed while others suffered, but she could not do anything to help the victims. Deep in her heart, she vowed to unite and bring peace once and for all to the four cities.

Fat drops of crystal clear rain came to the rescue. They pounded on the building, battling against the raging fire which had just spread to a nearby building. Lotus did not care if she got wet or not. She only wanted to be assured that the fire was put out. Rising slowly to her feet, Lotus watched the struggle for survival. She visibly relaxed as the fire capitulated. The thunder clapped with approval. The rain returned to the heavens.

It was midnight. Time for bed. But since she was basically raising her sister, Daniella, and herself, she could choose to sleep at any time she wanted to. She had been told that her parents had gone missing shortly after they were born, so as the older one, she had to take full responsibility and be the adult. Luckily, since she was in the city of luxury, nobody needed to work, because everything was distributed according to need. Thank the government for that.

Lotus sighed again, and slowly walked back home, thinking. What could she do? If only she had power, but obviously, she had none. If she overthrew the government, it would be horrifying. She did not know how to run a city, and she liked the way they run Nisle right now. Who knew, maybe she would even ruin the whole city! Lotus was so deep in thought that her face smacked into the wooden door of her house. She rubbed her nose, which got the worst of the impact, and pulled down the handle of the door. The door swung open, and she went to her room straightaway. She quickly changed her clothes and tried to sleep, but sleep evaded her, leaving her to think about her plans for the unification.
What do you think?

Lotus knew she did not need to have rest at night. You can rest all day if you wanted to. Nisel was based on luxury, while the other cities were based on something else. Nobody wanted to do anything, so they were just down-right lazy. The care free life style made work easy to find. But who wants to work in Nisel? Well, the work has to be done, and that's the problem.
The cities would bomb each other too. Just like today. People die each day.
                                   They have so many problems.
The sun peeked over the corner of here window. Lotus sat up. Her bed squicked under the pressure. Since the work is barely done, nobody gets payed. And nobody does work. So, everything is cheaply made. What goes around comes back around!
                   "Come on Lotus!" Daniella yelled.
"Danie, what?" She yelled back. With a quick glance at her clothes, she picked out a Green T-shirt and baggy pants. Nothing says simple like those.
"Can you make me breakfast?" Danie (Daniella's nickname)asked in a way only a little sister would. Oh, wait. Danie was her younger sister. But, Danie was 15. Why can't she fix it herself?
"I'll be there!" Lotus gave in and slipped on the clothes. The house was a one level house. It had five rooms. The kitchen,, the bathroom, her room, Danie's room, and the eating room, which is only large enough for two people to eat in.

Sorry! It's really short, but I got to go hang out with my friend... (Maybe got to call her first!)

Thanks Cea-Cea! :)

Here's the rest (for now):

Lotus rushed to the kitchen and hurriedly made 4 sandwiches, 2 for Daniella and 2 for herself. Meanwhile, Danie squealed and whined for Lotus to hurry up. "Lazy person can't you see that I'm busy?" Lotus snapped.

"You're mean!" Daniella pretended to pout.

"Take one, little kid," replied Lotus, handing Danie a sandwich. She immediately devoured it in less than 2 seconds. Lotus sighed as Danie yelled for more. "There you go, Little Miss Greedy, no more for you," she said after giving her the other one.

When Daniella was satisfied, Lotus asked, "What d'you wanna do today?"

"Hmm..." Danie thought for a while. "Maybe I'll go rollerblading, then after that maybe I'll see the constellations or something."

Lotus secretly rolled her eyes. Why didn't Danie spend her time reading or making music instead of rollerblading and skateboarding and stuff? "Um... just have fun," she managed. "And don't get killed."

"Yeah, right, as if that could happen," replied Danie. "Ta-ta, sis, see you... never, I suppose." The funny thing was that she was right.

Lotus watched Danie as she disappeared through the door. She needed a plan.

Going to post more tomorrow, because it's going to be 12am of the very beginning for the one and only Jun 2012.

Lotus looked to the left. Then to the right. She was taking a trip to the city, to steal some paper. She needed it to write down her plan on it. She was at the building that was crumbled by a cannon ball. Her hands felt the rough uneven bricks it was made out of. Lotus turned the corner. The place with books also had paper. Her dad, before she died, had said they were called "Librarys" and that there was only one in Nisle.

With a shake of her head, Lotus walked into the library silently. Who would notice your everyday girl? Lotus walked torward the mystery section. The books wouldn't mind her taking a few blank pages. Because after she does something to the cities, there will be millions more pages and books. They would forgive her.

Books were great. She hated to tear out the mystery, but fiction books were great tales about how things are diffrent and the other books are all about the past, which you can learn from. Speaking of which, Lotus should probley learn how to avoid a new war.  But she had to get the pages first.

Lotus touched all the books and stopped at a big brown one. She pulled it out. It read The Final Problem. She opened it up. Her hand touched the first page. Lotus took a deep breath and pulled.

A  loud ripping sound filled the room. Lotus looked around in panic. Did anyone hear it? Nobody turned their head, so it was safe. She really only needed one paper, but greed filled her heart. She tugged again.

After she had three pages, she left that section. It was risky to walk around with the papers, but she wanted to get those History books. On her way over, the door jingled, meaning somebody was coming in.

"Hey!" They yelled. Lotus whipped around to see one of the few cops around the city. What is her luck.

                             Busted.

The cop strode up to Lotus. "What are you doing with that?" He pointed to the papers in her hand.

  "I... um..." Lotus stuttered.

"Spit it out, or I'll arrest you," threatened the cop.

"I printed them out at home," Lotus replied.

"You sure? They looked like they were torn out of a book."

Lotus's heart started pounding. A thousand excuses rippled through her mind. She chosed the most believable one: "My sister tried chewing on it but I grabbed them at the last minute and cut the chewed-out parts out."

"Hmm." The cop didn't sound convinced. He thought for a while, then said, "Then why are you at the library?"

"I was comparing notes with a history book, because the information provided in both notes and book is different," she lied.

Luckily, the cop didn't ask for her to bring the book. He let her go with a "Don't let your sister eat the paper. Paper isn't good for health."

"'Kay, see ya!" Like lightning, Lotus ran back to her house. She bolted inside, her heart pounding. After she collected herself, she started writing on the blank sides of the paper. Nothing really came to her, so she read the story on the other side.

It was a mystery story, written by some author called Agatha Christie. The title was One, Two, Buckle my Shoe. It seemed interesting, and she soon absorbed herself in the three pages. When she finished reading, she had an idea for her big plan.

It was so great. It seemed risky, but it was posible. Smiling, Lotus gripped the pages. In her smallest writing ever, she wrote a sentince down. The whole process would be in steps.

Step one: Get Cities to notice each other more.

But how would she do that, though? It seemed imposible... inless she can make them zero around one object. One goal. One objective. But what would that object be?
Lotus thought about her parents. They died when she was younger. But how? The goverment sent a letter that her and her sister had to move right away. They wanted to get rid of everything her parents worked on. The letter also said they have died. But, there was no explination about how. The goverment cleared out everything Lotus's parents even touched. Well... except for one thing...
Lotus fingered around in her pockets. She stopped when she felt the rough edges of the ripped paper. Her hand grasped it, and pulled it out. It read:

Dear Lotus,
Everything is at stake. Our plan is destine to fail, but it is worth a try.
The cities are trusting us. Well, their mistake. Everthing is about to change.
If this doesn't work out, keep trying. Learn from our mistakes. We love you and Danie.
Remember, everything is about to change.
                 Love,
           Mom and Dad

Lotus banged her head against the wall. Her parents tried to unite the cities too! But their plan failed. They gained the cities trust, then turned their backs on them. It was a flawless plan, so it seemed. But then, everything went South from then on.
She stuffed the note into her pocket. She could solve her parents death later. After reading the note from her parents, she knew what had to be the center object.

She is going to become an outlaw.

Step one: Get cities to notice each other more. Not checked yet.

Step two: Learn more about the othe cities. Check. It was absurd, finishing the second step before the first, but it was absolutely vital for Lotus to know about the four cities. She had written them down on another sheet of paper, trying to save space so she wouldn't need to steal more.

Lotus read through the information she had collected from the past few days. Of course, she knew almost everything about Nisle--after all, she lived there, but she didn't know everything. Nevertheless, she easily obtained information from civillians and officials by sweet-talking them into telling her about the cities. She had sneaked in and made sure she wasn't caught.

Orgus was a city based on arts -- not just painting and sculpting, but also music, cooking, et cetera. Its leader was Dibbie, who was described by a city official as pretty (not beautiful) and pretty dramatic. She might seem nice on the surface, but when you were stuck with her for a long time, you would know that she wasn't. However, the dude said that she was "the least evil and plotting of the four city leaders" and "her British accent annoys me greatly, especially since she has this long flat blond hair that she uses to smack me everytime she sees me". From her speeches displayed on a huge screen in the main plaza, Lotus could tell that Dibbie hated all the cities, but she saved a particular hatred for Helisphere, on which she announced to declare war soon, when the Day of Warmth came to Helisphere. Dibbie prohibited anything that involved luxury, sports or inventions. Lotus didn't know how, but somehow they managed to live without those. People worked everyday, which shocked her.

It was pretty easy extracting information from a handful of Cartorp citizens. Tyler was the current leader of Cartorp. Cartorp was based on sports. He ruled successfully only because the citizens feared his cruel punishments for any crime, even for stealing a feather. Tyler was mean and demanding. He was so evil that he actually enjoyed the punishments and the screams of the punished. However, he loved animals dearly, and had a pet cat, dog and a parrot, which roamed in the palace. Tyler had decided on an alliance with the leader of Helisphere years back, the reason being that he had a soft spot for her. Which Lotus found quite romantic. He disliked seeing animals tortured or anything regarding art, but not music or cooking, of course.

Nina was the leader of Helisphere, which was based on ingenuity and inventions. The citizens were smart and brilliant and were accomplished scientists and inventors. They invented lots of things, like war machines (uh oh!), electronics and amor. For some weird reason, they were always creating new clothing designs, very unlike the other cities. Even the city of luxuries, Nisle, couldn't compete on that. She was illustrated as a nice lady with an unfortunate short temper, and had long red hair that was forever in a perfect French braid. Her pretty purple eyes had always gathered a crowd of admirers the moment she was in view, and Nina found it so annoying that she decided to stay in her palace and send out her underlings to do the work that needed to travel out of the palace in Helisphere. Her daydreamy attitude had attracted Tyler to her-- that was why Tyler had a soft spot for Nina. Nina secretly admired Nisle, or rather, the leader of Nisle, John, because they didn't really need to work. She had a rivalry with Dibbie because she thought Dibbie annoying and mean. She hated Dibbie so much that she banned anything regarding art -- with the exception of only cooking and baking.

And last but not least, Nisle. Lotus was surprised as she learnt things she never knew about Nisle. John was pretty laid back, but he was always ordering people to do his jobs, like sending out letters and tidying up his place. His long brown hair was sometimes in a ponytail. Lotus secretly wondered if she should cut his hair. She had knelt at the palace, holding a mirror and to her surprise, John was a little chubby for a guy. He had brown eyes that betrayed his thoughts. He had nearly spotted her, but Lotus had escaped just in time. Apparently, the city of luxury's leader didn't want anyone to see his messy hair. She knew the laws, of course. No one was allowed to kill with luxury items (e.g. necklaces, rings, pendants), but they could kill with guns and swords and knives.

Now, since Lotus had gotten so much information already, she was going to put her plan in work. She knew the laws, so she strived to make her plan work.

Excitement entered her body. She was going to be a rebel! Lotus stood there, facing the guards tower. All she needed was one uniform. Then she can dress in it and steal the other cities uniforms. First, it would make them notice her. Second, it would make them notice eachother. That was all she wanted. She recited the lines of the note from her parents.

Everything is about to change.

Yup, they got that right! Lotus waited for about five minutes. The guards woud eat lunch on duty. It was very cleaver, so nobody would enter, but that means that they would all leave the tower. And, again, that was all she needed. It helped that this was the city of Nisle, so all the men who are not on duty are sleeping. But Helisphere would be hard with all the tec... Lotus shook her head. She had to just consintrate.
Ring! The bell rung, telling the men to hurry up. Lotus whatched as 120 men left the building. Gulp. There were 120 more in the tower.
She put her hair in a pony tail. She was just a "man with long hair" like John. Ha! Then she started torwards the building. On the building, there was a scan card. Lotus took two flat pointy rocks and lifted them up like cards. She chucked one at the camera and one at the screen. Silently, glass rained on her head. Lotus felt like 1,000 knifes were stabbing her. But she just kept on walking.
The stairs were small, so she got up them easy. The alarms sounded. Lotus started running as fast as she can to the gaurd uniforms.
They were on the porch. Lotus grabbed 5 of them. Footsteps started coming closer. She whipped around. 8 bulky guys stood in front of her.
    "Cherio!" Lotus waved.

The men did not get enough time to see her face as she jumped of the building.

It was a whirlwind tumble. The air rushed past Lotus. Her hair flew up like gravity didn't exist a single bit. Yet she kept falling. Her heart pounded with the fear of crashing onto the ground, being smashed... Lotus pushed all of that out of her mind and concentrated on bending her knees. Just a bare moment before impact, she finally succeeded. She rolled on the ground to avoid too much impact. Finally, she stood up, legs wobbly like jelly. Her precious cargo was still in perfect condition -- which came to be a surprise to Lotus.

Brushing herself off, she strode to one of her hideouts -- she couldn't go home and face Daniella, so when Daniella wasn't at home, Lotus had gathered some camping supplies and created a hideout. There were only three so far. She couldn't risk too many in case she was discovered, but who cared? Even if they found out, she would still accomplish her mission-- get people to notice her, become a more... famous, or rather, infamous, person.

Sorry time to sleep, will post more sooner or later. BTW I'll be gone from 10th to 18th June, might not be able to post at that time. :(

Footsteps pounded behind Lotus. She spun around, looking for the sign oof any pursuers. Two of the guards were chasing her. "Haaalt, little girl!" yelled one of them. The other one was brandishing his gun. Not good.

Lotus sprinted down the alleyway. She knew it wasn't a dead end. Otherwise, why would she have set up a hideout here? A small squarish silhouette came into view, getting clearer with each step she took. That was her escape. She looked back a little. The guards were catching up. The people in Nisle weren't known for speed; in fact, they were pretty slow runners. But Lotus had kept herself in shape in the past few days -- doing pushups, running 5 kilometres everyday, situps... those were part of her new atheletic training. However, she knew that John trained his guards everyday viciously. She couldn't outrun them forever.

The shadowed house came into view. Lotus put on a final burst of speed, but she was tiring quickly. She hadn't run this fast before. It was amazing what the human body can do under pressure. You can do it. You can do it. It's coming closer, closer...

She reached the house. Sliding a window open, she crawled in and tumbled down. She quickly shut the window and tiptoed away, hiding in the shadow that the tall grandfather's clock provided. The guards must have seen her getting in the house. Lotus was right. One of them kicked open the door, causing a scream to echo from the top floor. A lady appeared, nearly tripping in her haste to get down the stairs quickly. "What are you doing here?" she demanded.

"Ma'am, there is an intruder in your house. She climbed in through that window," the guard replied, pointing to the window Lotus had fallen through. Lotus shivered and tried to make herself smaller by curling into a ball. Luckily the grandfather's clock was huge!

"An intruder?" The lady looked around. Her eyes swept over Lotus. "I don't see any intruder."

  "But--" the other guard began.

"Now, stay away, or I'll call the authorities. I tell you, there isn't any intruder here! You must be out of your mind. Now, shoo!" The lady made a pretense of swatting a fly away.

  "Ma'am--"

"Are you going to repair my door you just broke down?" the lady asked. Lotus looked over to the door. It hung broken, swaying on the hinges. The guards mumbled an apology and made their escape. The lady shook her head and sighed. Lotus let out a small breath lest the lady heard her. She was safe. For now.

Lotus waited for ten minutes for the lady to leave. While she was waiting, she thought. Lotus didn't know people actully lived here. That proves her case that everything is not as it seems. She has to move her hideout. But where... After the lady left, Lotus gathered all her plans, the copies of the paper, and her lock picker. Then she was off.
Her new hideout would be at her house. Nobody would ever suspect her there. What outlaw lives at her house? Exactly, she was going to do the unexspected.
On her list, it says next she has to get the Cortop uniforms. But first she had to find out where Cortop is. As Lotus got near her house, she heard an explosion. She looked up. Another flaming fireball flew across the sky. It came from a dark black army tank.
I think I just found my ride. Lotus thought. Smiling, she ran to it. Lotus gripped the sides. It started to move. Hang on!

  Bump... Bump... Bump...

The ride to Cartorp was rocky. Pits in the ground Lotus never noticed magnified the impact. Once, they had ridden over some sort of animal, and the resounding squash was disgusting. Lotus nearly puked. But that wasn't it. What was worse was that... They shot at her house.

What if Daniella was in the house? The flames hungrily chewed away at the wood, lunging at the tank, letting its smoky minions rule the sky. Nobody cared about that house. Only the firefighters cared. The wail of the fire truck echoed in the somber atmosphere, lonely and lost. The jets of water were eruptions formed by tiny volcanoes. Although the fire was put out, it didn't mean that there wasn't any damage. Hopefully Danie wasn't in the house.

Lotus forced herself to think of something other than Danie. Even though she found Danie more than pretty annoying, she still loved her. All these years had built it up... Ugh, get it from my mind. Think of something else. Oh yes, steal some Cartorp uniforms. And run. Go to Orgus and steal some of their uniforms. Save Helisphere for the last. It was going to be tough there, with all that advanced and fabled technology only dreamt of.

They arrived in Cartorp. Lotus was tired from clinging to the tank. She couldn't crawl to the top of the tank because the gale against her was too strong, and she might be discovered. She couldn't accomplish her mission when she hadn't gotten those uniforms yet. She jumped off the tank, her legs wobbly like jelly. Stiff and sore, Lotus stumbled to an alleyway and sat down, stretching her legs out in front of her. She did a few push-ups.

Gotta go now, sorry!

Haha! Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump!

After those few push ups, Lotus walked to the middle of the city. In the middle, there was the biggest castle, and only castle, she has ever seen. It looked like it had a million rooms. It was amazing, but how was she to get in there? Lotus decided to inspect it.

It had 19 windows in the front, and 12 in the back. The castle had two doors, the first grand door was in the middle of the main section. The other was carfully hidden in the back. The guards were lined up infront of the grand door. Lotus looked up. Great, cameras. But on the hand, it will make sure they notice her. She waved at the camera. The city of Catorp must think she was down right stupid.

"Ma'am, move!" A soldier pointed his gun at her. Lotus was about to say somthing sassy, but then remembered what this city does to people who do not obey. She ran away.

She ran across the yard of the castle and then to the outskirts of the city. In a small ally way, Lotus stopped to rest. The moon hung low in the sky and the stars started to shine. It was late, so Lotus layed down on a old blanket someone threw out. She shivered. It didn't matter that she was cold, it only mattered that her back would not be sore when she stole the uniform.

But what was her plan? Lotus looked around for insperation. She saw something move. A plan popped in her head.

              "Here, puppy, puppy..."
