Being of the best branch (Lucian) i figured it out it's (what i call ) an even code. take out every 2nd letter starting with C then U then B and so forth until you have the code VESPERSBESTFRIEND then space out the word and you get VESPERS BEST FRIEND hope that help Sinead.

i decided to google 'cubic zirconia', and techincally, its not a jewel or gemstone. its a synthectic gem that looks like a diamond.

It's a zig-zag cipher. It has two different sentences. the first one is CUBIC ZIRCONIAS AREA. The second one is VESPERS BEST FRIEND. I have a feeling that the first sentence is the clue.

Google "cubic zirconia" in Google Images. Cubic zirconia is a sort of crystal-like jewel that looks like a diamond, but isn't a diamond, so I'm guessing this message has something to do with the jewel Dan was talking about. Nah, I really don't know what I'm talking about, but that's the decoded message.

VESPERS BEST FRIEND!!! this is what i got when i decoded it. you start by deleting the first letter then every other letter after that, placeing spaces where they belong. I knew it because me and my friends always pass notes like this in class, if the first letter is a consonet, then delete it and every other letter afterwards, if its a vowel, skip it, delete the letter behind it and every other letter after that. simple but complex at the same time.
I know this must be asked alot, but does Ian regret breaking Amy's heart?

Sinead, I know what the code says: cubic zirconium is a vesper's best friend. Based on all of the other information I've gathered, the most logical explanation for this cryptic message is that the golden jubilee diamond, which is supposedly the next item Amy and Dan have to get for vesper 1 has been replaced with a fake diamond. Specifficaly a cubic zironium I think Amy and Dan have to find out where the real diamond is just like they did in book 1 The Medusa Plot. Hope to get more info on the search
