In the card 17 of the book ONE FALSE NOTE I figured out the puzzle. The top secret file that I unlocked had some codebreaking ones.
I suggest that you try them, They are:

This is Tom1819 (computinglabrador2) with breaking news the code translates as "Cubic Zirconias are a vespers best friend". I hope this helps and feel free to post any other difficulties. Now we only need to figure out what our decoded message means. Have you got any ideas? Try and ask Peter Lerangis he has many contacts and hopefully he will have an answer.

The answer is Cubic Zirconias. Just skip every letter and you will get it. It is a cubic crystalline form of Zirconium Dixoide.

Hey sinead I tried using an anagram and removing vesper from the code and I got what might be another Vesper. It's Arthur Trent. I hope this helps. Also he may still be alive. Not to be mean or anything but the bodies in the fire were blackened beyond recognization, so for all we know, innocent people got burnt in there, or it was a dummy made to look like a human got burnt. All in all, if he were a Vesper, and one of their top agents, wouldn't they go through all that trouble to make everyone else think he was dead, but instead he was alive? Just a theory, but these Vespers are making me paranoid.
We are not five diffrent branches. We are not just lucian, tomas, ekats, janus and madrigals, We are cahills and we are all in danger!

if you start with the second letter and go every other you get vespers best friend.it may be thelucian in me or it could be because that is my clubs code but it seamed too easy. i got something about a cubic area; arn't the hostages being kept in a cubic area?

I've done some research and cubic zirconia is a fake diamond. I've also seen the cover of Shatterproof and it features a diamond.
