The 39 Clues

                         PROLOGUE:
A long time ago in some time,in some place and i dont say some time and some place because i cant think of a time and place...which i cant,but because i speak of the war......the war that time itself had forgotten.This war was of the elements ,of light verses dark. At that time those who used dark powers to recharge their power fought against those who used the light,the battle was furious and ended with only Eight survivors.the seven of the light and the dark elementalist ,The Atrector.
The atrector tried to defeat them with his powers but was defeated by the light and all was at peace but when he was about to die a he created a stone with the last words engraved in it: "I may be gone but in centuries time my successor shall arrise and when he does this stone shall glow and you elementalists will meet the end" and at that it broke to eight pieces one for each elementalist,one of the pieces disappered in too dark mist along with him,while each of the other elementalist took a piece each and vowed to keep it safe,these pieces were passed on from centurie to centurie and all was at  peace .......until.....


Red eyes gleemed through the darkness and two figures in black clothes approached them 
"Master" said one "we got your message what is it you wanted to tell us"
"The children" said the creatures master "they're maturing, growing stronger and with that so is my power"
"so what are your orders master?" the creature interuppted
"do not interrupt demon!" its master bellowed
"s- sorry master" the demon said in a small timid voice
"besides you know exactly what I want you to do" he said "kill them?" "kill them" he agreed "so... it's time" the other demon asked "yes" said the red eyed man "finnaly time..... for the elemetals to be overthrown and for me to finally get my vengance!"

Jason redstone awoke in his bed gasping ,he hadnt had such a strong vision in years. He turned to his right and opened a small drawer in the side table and reached for a pouch he opened it and let a small ring fall onto his palm his eyes widened with fear as he looked at it ,the ring with a snake ontop of it .the snake was coiled pu around a glowing purple stone with words that were so faint but still readible......"....will meet the end" one of the words of the stone of prophecy ....the time had come
the man looked at the stone and said to himself..
"the time has begun.....i have to gather the others ...i need to gather........."

CHAPTER#1:
*Alice's POV*

i walked in the sunshine, my curly blond bangs bobbed with every step i took,my satchel slung on one shoulder.I was walking home from school.I dont take the bus cause my house is realy near by and i hate riding the bus. I was gonna head home and tell my dad that me and my best friends were going to the mall, they were doin the same.
we love to hang out ,we dont fit in with the other kids at school ,dont know why but we just dont so we're best friends.
i reached the door and took out a key from behind a potted plant. as i walked in i said
"DAD IM HOME!!!"

i have to shout since he has his "office" in the basement hard for him to hear down there,i still dont know what his job is,whenever i ask he just makes an excuse,have of the year he isnt home since he sometimes leaves suddenly in the middle of the night and comes home three to four days later.when i ask mom she says that dad has a responsability that he has to keep, whatever THAT means?

"ok alice um can you come down here for a second" a muffled voice coming from the floor said
"k dad!"i said and threw my satchel onto the couch,i quickly ran into the kitchen grabbed a bottlle of coke and ran down stairs
let me describe his "office" for you so you know what i felt like in that dusty little room
the walls are covered in graphs, maps,digital images or lightning and a whole bunch of other useless do das
the floor is happily covered with billions of wires with their plastic cover half cut off so electric currents zap out at any moment and make the neerest fly barbeque
and then their are three tables one aligned to the left another to the right and another one in the center,all of them covered in computers,tablets and other gadgets.
plus their dozons of light bulbs on the cieling ,on the table,even on the ground
overall the cieling was low and made of wood so i felt like id be curplat and squished like my pancakes
"what did ya need dad"i asked through sips of my drink
i looked at my dad who sat in the middle of the room ,he was on the phone with someone and started whispering harshly at the someone.
"look fine but if your ......no!.....i know there never wrong you have the most reliable visions but....look jason if this is actually a nightmare and not!!!!!!!....oh my daughters here i'll call you back and you better be right redstone or else!!!!!!" then he quickly disconected the call and looked at me. 
he ran one hand threw his hair and with the other he scattered papers around looking for something
"i had it a minute...take it off for one minute and now......." he muttered then "aha!! i got it"
he got up and elegantly walked around the wires not even touching one then stood infront of me
"alice honey i got something for you but it comes with a great responsiblity and it...."
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPP A PRESENT YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT IT!!!! WHAT IS IT?!?!?!?!?"i shrieked " I HOPE ITS A PUPPY OR A CAT OR A CUTE NEW HAMSTER OR EVEN BETTER AN IPAD!!!!!!!!!!!"
My dad started at me confused with his hands on his ears
"ALICE!" he shouted "please no more screaming"
i lowered my hands and closed my mouth with a small smile
"and i recall getting you an ipad last week" he said as he shook his head he had blond hair like me just that instead of them being curly like mine he had them spiked up like he got electrocuted
"anyway i needed to give you this..." he handed a golden chain that he wore around his wrist alot,it had a small little lightning bolt charm on it.
i put my wrist out and he slipped it on it
at once all the lights started to flicker,sparks adrubtly started to come out of the wires i noticed my hair was also floating and my hand started to glow a tingling sensation came onto my hand
my dad covered his eyes with his arm
and as quickly as it started it had ended my hand felt the same tingling sensation thought
"what in the world was that" i whispered as my hair dropped down onto my shoulder i looked behind me my pony lay on the wire covered floor crisped
"that was more than i expected" he said proudly
"what do you mean, you knew it would do that?!? what if i got BARBECUED LIKE MY PONY!" i screamed
"ok alice listen very closely you are the next three decades lightning elementalist, you have the power of all electrons..."
"what in noodles sake does THAT mean!!!!?!?!??!?!" i asked scared
"look just concentrate and.."
"i ...and ...i just.....the sparks...."i said starting to hyperventilate which happens to me at times of fear and on halloween(^_^)
my dad grabbed my arms and looked straight into my blue eyes and said" you need to listen!"
i nodded after a minute
"good now your an elementalist like me, we can control the elements and have a responsability of keeping the worlds safe" he said slowly
i nodded and looked at my hands ,i can do that!
"every three dacades thats..." i interuppted him by saying
"i know three decades thirty years"i said finally calming down
"well every thirty years a new elementalist must take the challenge as the previous looses the ability to do so,i'll lose my ability tomorrow at dawn"
"ya okay so what now i have powers what happened to them before why didnt i spark up like the forth of july yesterday or on my birthday or at school or somethin"i asked folding my hands
"the reason that your powers didnt act up then is because you didnt have a key, over time our powers started to get absorbed by this chain, so we cant do it naturally without burning oourselves out.So we have to wear this to let it get unlocked you could say"he said as he pulled up two seats i gratefully sat on one my dad sat on the other directly infront of me
"the key has been passed on for centuries from the first electic elementalist"he said solemly "and now onto you"
i looked at the way overdue family heir loom ,this could allow me to control all electricity.
"thats why we dont have a big electric bill because you charged the house!" i said with a small smile"it sorta seemed odd with all the electric wireing and stuff in you office ,thought it'd cost more guess that explains it"
"yes it does,now alice there's just one problem"he said
i looked at him and saw fear flash in his eyes for a second.
"you have become an electric elementalist at a time of ....great terror,there is another elementalist one who controls all things dark from black holes to the shadows that walk behind you. His ancestor was a great evil and wanted to rule the world and kill all other elements or absorb their powers.He has risen again we dont know.."
"what do you mean by we?"i asked
"me and the other elements ofcourse,now see the great evil he will come for you and the others and will in all his power try to kill you or absorb your powers,you must gather all the other seven elementalists and make a team to bring down tyrant"he said like a general
"got it now....um..... well where do i start?"i asked as i looked at my spilt coke ,why did i have to get powers right when i was having a drink.
"you can go ask your friends to join you first then look for the rest"he said and got up and started walking up the stairs"your powers will work naturally so just imagine what you want and it will happen as long as its connected to electricity"
i wasnt listening to anything dad said after the part about friends no way could it be them...."who exactly?!?!????"
"why rosie and francesco ofcourse"he said matter of factly and went up to go get a bottle of coke
yup had to be them why is my life so complicated 
i put my head in my hands and tried to let all of the wierdness soak into my head.

It was a bad day, even before a mini blizzard attacked me.   

Wait, wait, wait, now I am getting way ahead of myself. It was my fourteenth birthday, I hate birthdays. They reminds me of when mom was still here, before she died. When my birthday would consist of a party with all my friends and their parents over at our huge house. When I had a birthday cake with candles on it. When everyone was happy.  

They remind me of when that happiness changed on that fateful day, my tenth birthday, the winter solstice or in other word Decemer 21st. (Fake mods!!! Please delete in parethisis) Mom was driving me back home from the pond where I had and ice skating party, it was my newest obsession, I was going be a gold medalist in the olympics.

Just before we left, this middle aged woman came up to me and handed me a necklace. The pendant was an ice blue circle with snowflake in the center, it hung on the shiniest silver chain I had ever seen. It looked so real, but of course that was silly. But mom said I could keep it, so I did.

Somehow, they say, she lost control on the icy bridge, and the car slipped off the bridge and fell through the very thick layer of ice and snow.  Later, everyone said it was a freak accident, that I was so lucky I had survived, that I hadn't gotten trapped under the ice. That I hadn't died of hypothermia. They didn't believe me when I said that the snow and ice turned into giant hands and pulled the car in. They didn't believe me when I said the hands pulled me out of the car, and tried to keep me under, or when I said that my necklace started glowing and the hands backed off, they didn't believe a ten year old girl who had just lost her mother, because I was traumatized. Because I was confused.  

After six months I stopped telling them they were wrong, and after about a year I started to believe the counselors who had told me I just imagined it, because apparently, snow and ice didn't turn into hands and pull cars through six feet of ice. And apparently ten year old girls didn't get pulled out of cars by those same hands, and necklaces that you had been given by a strange lady, didn't start glowing. Of course, they were wrong and I was right, but I am getting ahead of myself again.  

After that day, my dad didn't spend time with me. He never came to the parent/teacher conferences, he didn't even come to my eighth grade graduation, the girlfriend at the time would always do that kind of thing. His multiple girlfriends all said that I reminded him too much of my mother, his wife. Others said that he thought it was my fault. That I made it out alive, and she didn't. But needless to say, he definitely didn't see me on the anniversary of my mothers death, my birthday.  

So yea, I hate my birthday. That fact alone made it a bad day to begin with, but that is only the start. Next I had an advanced Civics test, that counted for a lot of the grade for the year. I hate Civics, it is boring, and it never tells you the important things. I could be learning important things with my wasted time...  

I was taking a detour through my favorite park, looking at the beautiful snow covered pines. It was the start of winter vacation, and everyone was hurrying home. But not me, what waited at home was a big empty entryway, with no smell of cinnamon or my favorite cake baking, to celebrate my birthday.

I was walking along thinking back to that fateful car ride. Remembering the way I felt when the car went under, scared because mom was freaking out. But not afraid of the ice, and the cold. Remembering the feel of the ice and snow practically pulling me out of the car, me screaming to my mom, and my voice carrying like it was going through air.

Because I was distracted by my brooding thoughts, I slipped and fell. My necklace went flying across the sidewalk and into the snow. I had never taken that necklace off since the day that we slid off the bridge. I ran and over and grabbed it quickly, and for the first time in four years, the cold of the snow effected my hands. I quickly snapped the necklace back on and the cold went away again. What ever, I thought to myself, I've had too long of a day to worry about my necklace. 

Then as soon as the necklace was back in place, the wind whipped up. I watched as a little tornado of wind and snow came barrelling towards me. By instinct I put my hand out to block it, and squeezed my eyes shut. Waiting, for me to be killed by the ice. After a few moments of nothing happening, I opened one of my eyes. And I was shocked at what I saw. My hands had turned the ice tornado into dust... well... back to ice at least. 


Quickly I looked all over, no one had saw it. How could they not have seen it? Turning my hands over, I saw that they were still a bit icy. But it was quickly melting away to my normal delicate hands. Mom always had said they were as delicate as snowflakes. I was starting to hypervenelate(sp?) when I was interupted by a very familiar voice. 


"Rosie!" Alice called to me, she was my best friend. "Oh my gosh! Look at my bracelet! Have I got some stuff to tell you! Can I come home with you?" She asked, talking a hundred miles an hour. I smiled, she could always bring me out of my darkest moods.


"Of course you can come home with me! You'll brighten the place up a bit!" I told Alice.


Her eyes grew wide, as if she had a secret she just couldn't wait to tell me, "Have you got that right!"

CHAPTER#3
Alexis's POV:
I sat in the bus staring blankly out the window, something was wrong, I could feel it, don’t ask how I could or what was going to happen or even how it felt, I honestly don’t know, and the feeling?, I just can’t describe it, it just came to me and I knew something was going to happen, or was happening, something bad.
My thoughts were interrupted when the school bus came to a sudden stop, I jumped, my heart racing, I peered out the window just to see some old lady crossing the road
your getting paranoid  I thought to myself  nothing bad is gonna happen.
Boy was I wrong.
I looked around the bus, kids were talking and laughing. I sat at the back of the bus, all alone. Where are my friends? Well the answer to that is easy: don’t have any. I never really fit in that well, I didn't know what was back then but all my life I've always felt.....different.
After a few more minutes I finally got to my house, I got out of the bus without a word, got to the door, rang the doorbell a couple of times, no one came, then I just got the key out from under the carpet and opened the door myself.
"Thanks for opening the door dad" I said sarcastically as I entered and closed the door behind me. No answer
"Dad?" I called as I searched the house for him, then finally I found him in the living room on the phone with someone, it seemed more like an argument then I conversation, I stayed out of sight and started easdropping.
"- Look, how many times have my dreams ever been wrong, stop denying it, you know I'm right.. Look I can even sense it Mark, something is wrong."
I had to clap my hands against my mouth to stop me from gasping, 
he senses it too!I thought ,yes I'm not crazy!Then my dad spoke again
" I know the difference between a nightmare and a dream alright it's time you have to give it to her" were his last words then I heard some shouts from the other end,
the guy seemed really pissed. My dad turned the phone off looking really stressed and sat down on our couch. Then I came in
"Dad?" I said and made him jump "what's going on? Who were you talking to? What were you talking about? What visions?"
"How much did you hear" he asked "enough to leave me with a truck load of questions" 
"Well I'm not sure which one to answer first, how about the man? I was talking to Mr. Crest, he's an old friend of mine" he said
"Friend?' I said in shock "the guy sounded like he was wanted to rip your head off!"
My dad chuckled but it sounded a little nervous "he's just in shock right now"
"shock?" I said confused "shock of what? Dad what’s going on?"
"You really want to know don’t you?" he said, and I nodded "fine but you might want to sit down for this" I obeyed, then he took a deep breath "so much to tell you, I don’t even know where to start. how about with this..." he said as he took a beautiful ring with a coiled up snake with a purple stone in the center
He opened his mouth about to say something then his expression changed and fear struck his eyes even his face paled, almost like.....he could sense something coming.
"Dad? wha-" I started feeling it too something was coming, my hands started shaking and my heart  started racing "dad?"at that moment the windows and doors crashed open and in came three figures in black hooded cloaks I couldn't see their faces at first then I realized why, they didn't have any only glowing red eyes.
I screamed, then screamed some more and then a little more, then a lot more and well you get the point.
"OH MY GOD!" I screamed at the top of my lungs "DAD!?!"
I turned to him and was shocked to see him put on the ring he had shown me and do something extremely unaccepted, he raised one hand at one of the creatures and his blue eyes glowed, I screamed as the light of his eyes grew brighter and the creature went flying into the wall, breaking it then erupted into black flames and turned to ashes, this time I almost screamed my lungs out, what the heck was going on?
"OH MY GOD!!!!!!" I screamed a lot louder this time
Then the two remaining creatures charged one at my dad the other at me, and I did the only I could think of at that time, I ran for my life. I screamed my lungs out as I ran and then I grabbed the things closes thing to me, a vase and threw it at the creature, it didn’t even flinch, then I tried a chair, grabbed it with both hands and tried hitting it with it, still nothing. This wasn’t good, At that moment I heard a crash from the other room and at that moment of distraction the thing attacked me slashed at me with its arm and I went flying into the wall. I groaned as I tried to get up but the pain was too much I managed to open my eyes just to see my dad in the same condition as me smashed against the wall and in pain, and just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse they did, the creature came up to my dad grabbed him by the throat and dragged him up the wall,  leaving him gasping for air.
“DAD!” I screamed, just then the creature turned around and looked at me like it just noticed I was alive, then the other one came with a dagger in his hand, ready to kill me 
“he…ring” my dad sputtered
I looked to the ground to see the ring lying there, I dived for it, put it on and I felt so much power surge through me, my hair started floating much to my surprise, then I did the same thing my dad did raised my hand at the creature, focused then curled my hand up into a fist and the creature that was chocking my dad looked like it was being squished, then I smashed it into the ground, I was too busy freaking out over what I just did that I totally forgot about the other one and at that moment it attacked me. Fell to the ground too hurt to move, my dad, who was now free, somehow managed to sneak up on the creature and stab it with a knife, he helped me up and once I was on my feet I started panicking,
“OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!" I screamed "WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?! WHAT WERE THOSE THING!?!, HOW DID THEY GET HERE?!?! HOW DID I DO THAT?!?! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!?! HOW DID THEY!?! AND…AND…ME AND YOU AND THE THING AND……AND…..AND” then I completely lost it and passed out.
I woke up in some house that wasn’t mine, in a room that I thought was kinda strange, the room was full yellow with pictures of smiley faces and flowers all over the walls then I looked at the dresser where there was a picture of a very cheeky blond girl with a girl and a boy with her. Then the door opened and in came the same girl in the picture, when she saw me she grinned then called “DAD! MR.REDSTONE SHE’S AWAKE!” then she turned to me and started talking in a rapid fire way “hey I’m Alice you must be Alexis can I call you Lexi? well welcome to my room how do you like it it’s really sunny isn’t it? kinda like me!, so-“ she would’ve gone on for hours but then the man who was apparently her dad said,
“please she just woke up can’t you at least wait five minutes before scrambling her brain cells?”
Alice covered her mouth with her hands and giggled, then my dad came in
“hey Alexis” he said “how are you feeling? We have a lot to talk about” Then him and Mr. Crest began telling me and Alice the story of the elements once done, they explained me everything that just happened how the things that attacked us were demons who wanted the kill all eight elements and that we had to gather them all before they could. Once done with that I said, “all my life I’ve felt different now it all makes sense why, ‘cause I am, heck I’m not even human, am I?”
My dad shook his head “your far greater”
“There’s one thing I don’t understand” said Alice “why doesn’t anyone know about this all”
“Wiped of all memory of it” Mr. Crest said
“but right now I’ve decided something” he turned to Alice “once you’ve gathered them all, you will lead them”
Alice looked completely shocked and even more surprising speechless
"HER!?" her dad said in shock "have you lost your mind Jason why her?!?!"
Alice scowled at him, "thanks for the load of confidence dad" she said sarcastically
"yes her" my dad said "until you find light, the born leader of the eight, she will lead"
"but Jason" Mr. Crest protested, wow this guy had no confidence in his daughter
"no buts Michael" my dad said "you said yourself when she first put the necklace on the power was more than anyone’s you've ever seen it has to be her"
“Well I guess it’s official, oh fearless leader” I laughed gesturing Alice
" Well now that we have you it’s three down five to go” Alice said with a grin
“Three?” I said confused “whose the other?”
“my best friend Rosie explained things to her this morning” she said “you’ll get to meet her tomorrow when she comes"
"morning?" I said "wait what time is it?"
"10 p.m" Alice said looking at her watch
"TEN P.M!" I yelled "I was out for five whole hours!"
"seems so" Alice said planly "now gotta go apolagize to my friend Francessco for not meeting him at the mall" and with that they all left
wow, I though  my life just got a lot more intressted

Other: She can eat fire and crystals, and has a necklace that has a symbol of a dragon (fire breathers).

AGE: 14.
LOOKS: She's Japanese with long, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. 
PERSONALITY: Usually shy and reserved, but along with friends, she will be funny and outgoing. She can be a teeny bit bossy, so don't let her get her way too often. 
POWER: Water.
OTHER: She has a bracelet with beads the color of the ocean.

NAME: Francesco Di Gorges
AGE:15
LOOKS: Tall, Blue eyes, Black hair
PERSONALITY: Caring, Protective, Nice, powerful
POWER: Wind
Other: Natural leader, loves pizza!!!!!!, is able to fly too.

okay I just noticed that in the begining of the chapter I made Alices dads name Mark then later at the end it was Micheal...:P So let me explain that actually my sis saw the name Mark and said that that was a dumb name(in what world?) and then deleated it and wrote Micheal soooo I guess I forgot to change it later.............

But aren't there 8 Elementalists? In the list you had, there were only six. And then you add the evil guy which equals seven, but who's the 8th? He/She would control Earth i think. If you don't already have someone for this part, could I be him?

Chapter #4
 Luna's POV

  Walking home from school, is like freedom in a countryside. The sun beated down on me and the wind wrapped me in a cold embrace. I was sporting a white shirt, with black pants with rips, a black leather belt with a dragon, and I was wearing a black leather jacket which was designed with dragons curving around the back while fire surrounded the dragon itself. Around my neck I carried what was left of my father, a dragon and phoenix in like a yin and yang symbol. My Uncle Coryn carried my mother's Silver and Rose Gold Celtic Dragon ring.
Mom. Now that I'm thinking about it, she once said, "I'll give you the ring, if you can eat...." That was all I remembered I couldn't even ask my Uncle Coryn since he got touchy ever since my parents died.
 I shook my head, trying not to think about it. The one thing I should be worrying about is Cleo, my pet cat. As long as I remember Cleo has been with me since the death of my parents. Starting today, Cleo followed me all the way to school; that's not all she kept on looking at me all the time during class and lunch. I told her politely to go home, but she was very stubborn on not going back.
My friend Ruby thought it was cute of Cleo following me."Are you kidding me?!" I said. "Cleo is like a lioness waiting to pounce a wildebeest when it's weak."
She laughed at me; I turned red and started to drink my coke. Rave, a skater-buddy of mine came over and said, "It's not that bad, my dog Scooter does it all the time when I'm around."
"One, Rave my Cleo isn't a dog she is a cat," I said counting on my fingers. "Two, like I said Cleo is a lioness waiting to pounce a wildebeest when it's weak, and three the reason why your dog follows you is because you smell like pizza and dog food."
Sure it made them laugh, but it made me want to flip a table right in front of them. One thing for sure I am never going to talk about my problems with Ruby and Rave ever again. 

The problem at had, is that I'm afraid something might happen to my little buddy. I glanced at my left side and smiled at Cleo, after a few minutes passed I got tired and sat down on a bench watching elementary students running around and pulling pranks on each other. I stood up, brushed my pants and began to walk again. I picked up Cleo and held her in m arms while walking; sometimes I could feel her purring in my arms. Walking for a couple of minutes, I felt my iPhone Touch vibrates in my pant pocket. 
Holding Cleo in one hand and fishing out my iPhone from my pocket was quite uncomfortable. It said: 

From: Uncle Phoenix
To: Luna 

Buy SierraOscarMikeEcho MikeIndiaLimaKilo for Cleo. 

I carefully put Cleo on the ground and texted back: 

OscarKilo, I'm near Lagoon anyway. 

Leave it to my Uncle Phoenix to text, he used to work for the Navy Seal and had gotten used to writing in phonetic alphabet. Now that I think about it, Uncle Phoenix never said he retired from the Navy. If my Uncle Coryn texted he would be texting in metaphors that will drive me crazy. 
I put my iPhone away in my pocket; I then picked up Cleo and walked towards Lagoon. I put Cleo down, grabbed my wallet from my bag, dropped the bag, and told Cleo to watch it and guard it. 

"I'll be back in a few minutes," I said to Cleo. 

I walked through the door to be greeted by Margaret the assistant manager of the store. Today Margaret was dressed in a sky blue shirt matched with a tie; her pants are like mine; ripped but blue. Her brown hair was tied back, her skin was now tanned since she goes to the beach a lot, and her freckles seemed to have disappeared. 

"Afternoon Luna," she said. "Ran out of milk?" 

Typical of her, she always knows what I'm in the store for. I nodded my head and walked towards the dairy fridge; took one carton of milk and walked towards the cashier desk. My iPhone vibrated, but I ignored it. 

"That'll be seven dollars," Margaret said. 

I took out my wallet produced one five dollar bill and two one dollar bills. Before I left, Margaret grabbed my shoulder. 

"What's wrong?" she asked. "You never said a single word since you stepped through the door, what's on your mind?" 

I sighed, "Well, I'm kind of worried-" 

I never got to finish what I was about to say, an explosion occurred in the back room. Before I even blinked Margaret yelled: 

"Chris!" 

She then sprinted towards the door, she quickly grabbed the handle but it gave her bruised fingers and burnt palm. I stood where I was, frozen in fear not knowing what to do. Margaret was now using her shoulder to bust open the door, Cleo was head-butting the window. Cleo somehow managed to get inside the store, jumped on the counter and scratched my arm. 

"OW!" I yelled.

My mind then started to come back to reality, quickly I ran behind the counter grabbed a first aid kit and a tomahawk that Margaret would carry with her most of the time. I quickly ran towards Margaret, gave her the first aid kit and poured alcohol on her hand. She screamed in pain, I soothed her as best as I could. Finally, I put some band aids on her fingers and a bigger band aid on her palm.

"Get out of here and call the fire department," I said. "And don't worry; I'll get Chris out of there."
Margaret nodded; she got up grabbed Cleo and ran outside. I stood up quickly and held the tomahawk in my hand. I looked at the knob and began to swing the tomahawk upon the knob.

Clink. Clink.

The knob fell on the floor with a loud clang, I dropped the tomahawk and walked back; then I ran towards the door with much force to make it fall. I was right; the door fell when I ran towards it. I landed on the ground with the door at the bottom. I got up and dusted off the debris, smoke rushed out of the door like a herd of horses running in the wild. I coughed like crazy; I put the sleeves of my jacket close to my mouth. 

"Chris!" I said the sleeves of my jacket were still covering my mouth. "Chris, where are you?!"

A whimpering sound resonated from the desk, I walked toward the desk; but fallen debris from above began to tumble down on me. I used my two arms in order to protect myself, when I looked at the ground suspecting to find fallen wood or something. Instead I saw black ashes on the ground; I looked at my sleeves to find it on fire. I yelled, while I was doing that I began to swing my arm to get the fire off my sleeves. I finally took off my jacket threw it out the broken window.

I ignored my scream; I got on the floor and found 6 year old Chris hugging his knees whispering to himself. "Christopher," I said getting his attention. "Come here so I could get you out of here."

Chris nodded and crawled towards me; I put my hand out and grabbed Chris' hand. I quickly pulled him out of the desk, I was about to scream. Chris' tan skin was burnt badly, his clothes were burnt, and his brown curly hair was signed. I carried Chris like a parent would carry their baby. I ran towards the door, but the wood that supported the roof was coming down. Chris was whimpering, I put my hand on her his head; I tried my best to sooth him but it made me feel quite uncomfortable.

From the window I heard Cleo mewing from outside, I turned around. Cleo was holding my jacket, thank goodness which was not on fire anymore. I heard more explosion's erupting the whole building. I took a deep breath and began running towards the window, as I began to run; the world around me began to slow down. My necklace was burning my skin a bit, but I completely ignored it. I used jumped through the window with my back, I knew if I jumped forward Chris would have a lot of shrapnel’s in his skin. 

I landed on the hard concrete ground with a loud thump, the world turned dark; my eyesight began to get blurry. The only thing I somehow heard was the laughter of a madman and the last thing I saw was a hair of yellow.

I opened my eyes, sat up and groaned. My mind began to replay what happened before I passed out.
Fire. 
That one word, sent shivers up my spine. I quickly cleared my head and looked around my surroundings. The room was white like snow, posters of dragons and phoenixes littered the wall and ground, right above me was a poster of a dragon and samurai. Great, I thought. I'm in my room.

I was about to get up, when I noticed that my whole upper body was covered in bandages; No wonder why I feel like I want to hit something, I thought. I winced in pain, from downstairs I could hear both of my uncles’s talking to each other. I walked toward my closest and put on my white shirt, black jeans, and my (thank goodness) black leather jacket. I could feel my father's necklace on my neck. Every step I took was giving me much pain, I opened the door carefully and at that point I found myself cringing in the light.

From the banister, I could hear both of my uncle's now talking to another person. 

"I'm sorry, but our niece cannot do this!" Uncle Phoenix said angrily. "Today she was in an explosion."

"My deep condolences, but it is time for her to start her training," the person said.

"Phoenix, he is right," Uncle Coryn said. He then looked at the stranger. "Before this all started Luna's-"

I rushed downstairs, "What is this about?!" I said in a rush.
The man was now looking even calmer, beside him was a girl probably his daughter looking at me with curiosity. I turned and looked at my both of my Uncle's angrily.

"Calm down Luna," my uncle Coryn said. "He is a friend of your mother and father and also ours, you must calm down."

"Luna, this is not the time of place to get angry," Uncle Phoenix said. "Sit down and shut up."

Harsh, I thought. I sat down grudgingly; I know something is completely not right. The girl right in front of me looked familiar in some way, but I didn't think about it. All I wanted to do was to listen to the three hush puppies talking.

"We must be ready," the man said. "The 'Dark One' is rising, I could feel it; why can't you?"

"We know the "Dark One' is rising, we have been suspecting it," Phoenix said. "Before Luna's parents died, they've been training her."

The man across from us was wide-eyed, "What?!" he said. "You do know that is against what we've been following right!"

Uncle Coryn put his hand up, his caramel colored eyes were calm and soothing. "Phoenix and I knew, but Anastasia wouldn't listen to us. If she did listen to us, then would Luna still be alive and breathing?"

It was getting quite uncomfortable to listen to them so I stood up and went to the kitchen to get some water. As I got the water, the girl sitting next to the man was petting Cleo. I looked at her, her blonde hair was like the sun, her bright blue eyes looked like the sky, and her skin was fair and smooth. The girl looked up and smiled at me as if the world was normal.

"My name is Alice," she said. "And you are?"

"Name's Luna Lupine," I said. "What are you and your dad doing in my house?"
“My dad is somewhat gathering some of his old buddies together,” she said. “Did you know your parents are my dad’s colleagues in college?”  “Sorry,” I said. “The last time I saw my parents was when I was 5 years old. They passed away a long time ago, so they never told me anything. Plus my uncles adopted me right after my parents died, weird.”
“Not really,” she said. “May I have some water please?” I walked towards the cabinet and took out a glass, then I went to the water filter, and then I gave it to her. I than sat down at the kitchen table, from the distance I could hear my uncles and her father still talking.
“Do you know what is going on?” I asked when she sat down.
“Well, I kind of know,” she said. “It seems who ever this ‘Dark One’ is, is trying to hurt us or possibly kill us even. I already met the other three; one of them was Rosie my friend who turned out to have ice powers, Francesco who has the ability to control the wind, and a girl named Alexis has telepathy or in other words telekinesis. And then there are you, though I don’t know what kind of power you have though.”
I nodded my head, “Look I’m just a regular kid, okay.”
Coming from the living room was my Uncle Coryn; his caramel eyes were almost like stars, his black hair was spiky like mine, his skin was slightly white and tan, and his clothes looked like it was sizzling. "Unbelievable!" he shouted. "I can't believe-"

While he was talking to himself, he suddenly noticed that Alice and I were there. He then regained his composure and said, "Luna Phoenix and Alice's father is waiting in the living room to discuss the matter at hand."

I shrugged my shoulders, stood up, and walked out of the kitchen. When I entered the living room the whole place smelled like electricity and some other chemicals. Alice was right behind me, I think she was looking at her dad at the time but I couldn't be so sure.
My Uncle Phoenix beckoned me to sit right next to him; I walked over and obediently sat down. Alice did the same but she was sitting next to her father. The four of us remained quiet at the time, then my uncle Coryn came in with new clothes and a bunch of crystals in his hand. He put them all down on the table that separated Alice's father and herself from me and my two uncle's.
Silence remained a little longer than usual. "Luna, I want you to eat that purple crystal," Phoenix said. "Don't ask questions just do as I say."

Do as you say? I thought. Crystals are not good for digestion you know that right? Plus who in their right mind would want to taste a crystal?

I looked warily at the crystal, and then I picked it up and took a bite out of it. Surprisingly the crystal was like candy, but it had a very sweet taste to it. I swallowed the crystal bits in my mouth and asked, "Isn't this candy? I thought it was really a crystal that you wanted me to eat."
Alice looked at me excitedly, her father was pale, and my two uncles were looking at me as if I did something really exciting. “Why are you guys looking at me?”
Alice fumbled out a mirror from the table, I looked at my reflection. My mouth was spewing fire, my hair hinted some embers, and my eyes were turning red. “Fire!” Alice said happily. “You’re the fourth element!”
I sat there, my mind was empty and I knew for yet another time that something bad is going to happen.

BLACKCYCLONE46: no there actually 9 elements in the whole wide UNIVERSE!! but only eight are good! we are six and we meet one more who will be earth and the last is light, but no one knows who or where he/she is. i think alexis mentioned that in her chapter.
we have too many writters already so you can make a form for the earth guy but you'll only be a character, we'll find you later in the story.

...You know I can think of more than eight elements ,but your stories is great.Is there gonna be any more elements later on or just the eight?I'm sorry is this is making you unconferable. BAi Bai

Ok. I'm sorry this isn't in paragraph form. I'm typing on my iPod. :/ Noelle's POV:   I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, trying not to panic. "You know this. You have practiced this so many times. Your teacher and your mom have both said it's perfect," I told myself. Then I rolled my eyes. "Great. I'm talking to myself again. Wonderful."   "Hey, Noelle! Did you know that talking to yourself is one of the first signs of insanity?" my little brother Dylan yelled through the door.    "Whatever! At least I don't sing in the shower like you!" I countered. I had caught him singing 'Seasons of Love' yesterday in the shower, and he was still embarrassed.    "Yes, you do. How about last week when you were rapping out the words to 'Baby'?" he said.    I could feel him smirking. "Naomi dared me to," I mumbled. "She likes it."   "Sure, sure. Keep dreaming," he said. I rolled my eyes again but stopped talking to myself as I brushed my long, chocolate brown hair. Once I finished, I surveyed myself. My mom had to practically shove me into the pretty, short blue sundress. I wore white heels and (the horror!) light pink lipgloss.  "Why do I have to look so pretty?" I moaned. Dylan snickered from outside the door.    "Wow, Noelle. That didn't sound stuck up at all. 'Why do I have to look so pretty?'" he mimicked me in a high-pitched voice which didn't sound like me AT ALL.    "At least I don't look like you," I joked. I stared at my reflection and stuck my tongue out. Why were dresses required for piano recitals? There was nothing wrong with jeans! I sighed, walked out the door, and headed to the piano.    "No time," my mom said, looking up from the dishes. "We're leaving in five minutes."    "Okay," I replied absentmindedly. I drummed my short fingernails on the lid of the piano and mentally ran over my ten-minute piece.    "It's time," she eventually announced. I ran into the car and got into the front seat. My brothers and sister got in as well.    "Why does she always get shotgun?" Mark complained.    "Because you're ten? Because you like to distract people? Because you're still in a booster seat?" I suggested.    "Be nice," Mom scolded me. Mark pulled a face at me, and I laughed.     "More likely because he likes to blow things up," Dylan added.    "Okay, that's enough," she said. Five minutes later, we were at the high school. A whole cloud of butterflies were having a dance party in my stomach, and they were not having a waltz. More like hip hop.   "I feel like I'm gonna barf," I whispered to my dad, who had come straight to the high school after work. He smiled encouragingly.    "You'll do fine," he told me. I wasn't so sure.     After about ten other people, my teacher announced, "Next, we'll have Noelle Shinoda." She sat down as I walked up.    "My name is Noelle Shinoda, and I'll be playing 'Wedding Day At Troldhaugen' by Grieg," I managed to say into the microphone before taking a seat at the shiny, black piano. I took  a deep breath and launched into the wedding march. Being on the stage didn't bother me; messing up did. Fortunately, I only made a few flukes. I covered them up as best as I could and moved on. At the end, I received a huge amount of applause, and I sat down. My sister Naomi tapped my bare shoulder.    "I have to go to the bathroom. Where is it?" she whispered. I shakily stood up and led her to the restrooms. She walked in, but I stayed outside to wait for her. Leaning against the cherry red lockers, I noticed a woman walking over. She wore a black dress, black flats, and a simple necklace with a black pendant on it.    "Well done," she complimented me. "That was a hard piece."   "Oh...thanks," I mumbled. "I messed up a lot, though."    "You did amazingly well. I have a gift for you." She held out a gorgeous bracelet with blue beads that reminded me of the sea for some weird reason.    "It's beautiful!" I exclaimed. "But I can't accept it. There are people way better than me."   "No, I have meant to give it to you for a long time," she said mysteriously.    "Do I know you?" I asked awkwardly. Funny, she didn't look familiar at all.    "I've heard you play many times. For the choir," she explained. "Please, take it." She dangled it so the light could reflect off of the beads.    Warning bells went off in my head. This strange woman was just going to give me a lovely present like this? But at the same time, something clicked in my head. Something felt right about the sea-blue bracelet. "Thank you," I murmured as I took it in my hand. I slipped it over my wrist. It fit perfectly, and I felt a pleasant kind of tingling along my back. The tingling rapidly spread to my head, legs, and hands. It almost felt like ripples of water trickling down each part of my body, and it felt exhilarating. I shivered eagerly.   When I turned around to thank the lady again, she was gone. /I have to call Luna/ I thought excitedly. Was this cool or what? But...what was cool, exactly? The tingling? That sounded so stupid. /I won't bother. She won't get it/ Naomi emerged, ad we sat down in our seats again.    "Where'd you get that bracelet?" she asked curiously.    "Found it," I fibbed. She nodded and turned to watch a really nasal guy singing some unintelligible song.   After the recital was finally over and we were driving home, I played with the piece of jewelry. The individual beads were cloudy, but when I put my eye up to it, I thought I could see little pieces of seaweed and coral. On an impulse, I put it up to my ear. The waves of the ocean rumbled in my ear, making me pull it away in shock and fear.    "What's wrong?" Dylan stared at me. "What's that from?" he pointed to my wrist.    "She found it," Naomi butted in, knowingly. "When she took me to the bathroom."   "Let me see it," my mom said. I reluctantly handed it to her. "That's beautiful." She gave it back, and I happily slipped it on again.    "Where are we going? This isn't the way home," I remarked. Mom shot me a grin.    "You'll see." Eventually, I recognized the route.   "Oh my gosh! This is the way to that awesome park!" I said, my eyes lighting up. The park I was speaking of was an absolutely amazing, with huge roses of every color and lush, green grass. Also, there was a sparkling pond with crystal clear water. Of course, there was a pretty sweet playground for the little kids, too.    The minivan pulled into the parking lot. I got out and immediately walked over to the pond. Water had always attracted me for some reason. When I reached the shore, my bracelet started vibrating. Strange, unwanted images  floated into my brain. The pond forming ripples...the ripples forming waves...waves rising in the air...   "Oh my gosh!" a voice screamed out. I vaguely recognized it as my mom. "Noelle!" Hearing my name snapped me out of my reverie. I turned to reassure her, but something out of the corner of my eye caught my attention. The waves really were rising! Did I do that?    "What do I do? What do I do?" I muttered frantically.        "What was that?"      I obeyed, even though I didn't know why. Was that my BRACELET talking to me? Great. Sign number two of insanity-inanimate objects speaking to you mentally. My bracelet burned into my skin, but I kept my arm up.       "Stop," I commanded. The waves receded. "What the-"    My mom ran over to me. "What happened?" she questioned me frantically. "Are you okay?"   "I don't know, and I don't know," I answered truthfully. Then my legs buckled, and I fell to the ground. /So this is what it's like to faint/ I thought before falling into unconsciousness. My last sight was of a boy with black hair and black eyes standing over me, mouth open. My last thought was sent to me by my talking bracelet.
