After Salt Lake City, I became sad about the end of tour — until I saw this hidden Cahill message in Houston, Texas! It’s a variation on a quote from a famous speech given by a Tomas ancestor featured in The Viper’s Nest. Do you know who that is?
I took the message seriously. And I had a fantastic visit to the Valley School, where the kids were amazing. Even the statues enjoyed The Dead of Night.
That evening I visited an awesome bookstore called the Blue Willow. How awesome? Maybe you can tell from the expression on my face (and the refrigerator magnet in my right hand):
Houston only reinforced something I already knew: Cahills are everywhere! On my way back home, I had my eyes and ears out for Cahill messages wherever I could find them.
Even in New York City I could not stop seeking Cahill wisdom from odd statues.
(And who put this lion just blocks from my house! Do you think they knew?)
But it was only a brief stop at home before the tour’s last stop: Connecticut! I visited a school with an unusual name and an inspiring slogan:
Talk about an enthusiastic welcome!
They even arranged to include a cow in their mural for me. Can you find it?
I did.
The fourth and fifth graders at Totoket Valley created a quiz about my life history. I think I failed it.
Later that day, I ventured to the Abraham Pierson School. Sign, bookmarks — how lucky can a guy get?
No cows or lions here. I think they were chased away by the Connecticut Huskies.
My very last event was a very special one at a new Books-A-Million store in Waterford. (You have to like a place whose logo says “BAM!”)
Here I met Timothy, a seven-year-old clue hunter extraordinaire and aspiring screenwriter, who traveled over two hours to attend the event! I dubbed him “The Noble Traveler.” And he floored me with his knowledge of the series.
What great way to end the tour! I sit writing this at home, inspired by the aroma of chocolate and new books (baseball caps, alas, do not have an aroma). As you may know, I posted responses to the latest prompt here. Wow, has it been fun discovering all the great writers out there! I am amazed by the volume of responses. (Many of you have asked me to read separate stories, excerpts from novels, responses to earlier prompts, etc. Alas, I’m maxed out from all the plane travel, car travel, school visits, bookstore visits, explorations, making videos, writing blog posts, answering guestbook posts, reading and commenting on hundreds of writing-prompt responses, and managing to keep up with my own family! So I will leave those to the skills of the Cahill Command Message Board members. You guys are more than up to the challenge.) I have seen some tremendous growth in writing skills. You have made me laugh, gasp, and even shed a tear or two; and I fully expect to see some of your names on the covers of books in the future. Remember, you can always contact me with questions on my own guestbook page. I love hearing from readers, and I answer every question.

You can't escape them, you can't run from them. They over power you until you are forced to live them until they are over. I wish I was there!!! Oh I have a prompt. (Ehemm) Dan looked like one of those wierdo cartoon miners with his face all crazy. He lifted the gun and became trigger happy again. Then he looked as if he'd been shot. There, in front of him laid Uncle Alistair. Shot. By him. - Able
If you don't like the idea of Alistair getting shot (I know I don't!) it could be anyone.
P.S. If you don't understand I'm thinking there should be a battle and the Vespers send out one of the hostages. So when Dan starts shooting everywhere he accidently hits one of them.

Writing Prompt :
Von Onkswail stood, overlooking the narrow hilled pavement, staring into the gloomy dark night at the only busy corner of the entire neighborhood. Upon returning from Turkey and being told of Mr. McIntyre's death, Von had been called up for an emergency rendevouz. Along with him was his buddy, Jonah Wizard, who happened to be an internation hip-hop sensation(although, at the moment he had his commoner's facade on: regular inner city fashions and a slight New York accent). They were on their way to Jonah's second cousin's aunt's house, where they would meet up with Von's best friends Marla Clentepi, Jason Evac, and their other pal named Hamilton Holt. The four were all part of an international, yet secret, alliance of children who strayed away from the family's norm, and had decided to work together against a formidable foe: an organization called the Vespers. This alliance was only between children of the five branches of the Cahill family, who'd been the most influential bloodline in history for 500 years. But, ever since the family had ended their infighting and bloodshed, they'd been on the verge of a breaking point, landing in, and being toyed with by, the hand of the Vespers. These Vespers had been an unknown thorn in the Cahill side for centuries and had stepped out of the shadows for hidden reasons. And now, it was rumored that a very dangerous possible Vesper was hiding in a quiet neighborhood not too far from NYC. But his fear of the Vespers wasn't what made Young Mr. Von Onkswail pause for those short seconds as he and Jonah ambled toward the small corner deli, no, it was his amazement at what he'd been told shortly before he'd gotten dressed to leave. And if it were true that something of what they were to find had to do with his missing father, whom he'd been digging up buried Cahill files on for months, then the Pseudonomic-Anonymitarian wasn't prepared to venture on.
"What?" Jonah Wizard asked as the sun continued to sink behind the trees.
"Nothing. C'mon." Von Onkswail finally said, working up a smile, as the two continued on down the road to danger.

Looking up, I can't hold the contact for more than 2 seconds before I clamp my eyes in an instant. OK,agent Lerangis.This is my Idea:
I don't know what age Amy and Dan would be,but it turns that they sister 3 years older than Amy,and she supposedly died in the fire with they're parents,but she was accually alive,living in Portland,Oregon.At the end of the hunt,the man in black tells her about Amy and Dan finding all the clues and all that,so decides to go Boston.But when she gets there,the man in black is gone and she only has one choice if she wants to stay in Boston:an old friend who demands to know where she was and why he,Henry Mills,has not had contact with her.But,Amy and Dan don't remember her and she can't tell Henry the truth about the hunt and the vespers,wich she also knows about.But before she can remind Amy and Dan about her being they're older sister,they have to go fill Vesper 1's demands.So she follow them.But not in the background.In the upfront.But when they watch her get sent to the hospital,in whatever location you choose,they sudenly remember her.But they're stuck.Try to save her,her name would be Alexandria,or fill vesper 1's demands.

I crawled through the vent, unsure of what would happen once i reached my destination. Okay...right, left, left, then right....there was the door. I pried open the grate and climbed out. My heart snak. There he was, the one i person i didn't want to be there. He was pointing a gun between my eyes. I didn't put up a fight. I shrugged my backpack of my shoulder and tossed it to him. It was over.

i think you should start where amy,dan,and nellie are leaving a hotel in west point, new york and going to athens,greece, to find a hidden artifact in the mediterranean sea, the golden briefcase grace used in #11, vespers rising. at the airport, they accidently run into a vesper.i might send more later.

The room was silent. Everybody just looked around and shifted uncomfortably in their chairs. It was the Cahill Christmas reunion. Amy felt her face turning red and turned to her mother. "Mommy, why is no one talking?" she whispered. Just then a beautiful lady with olive skin and black hair spoke up. She had a British accent. "So where have you been lately, Hope?"
Note: This is supposed to take place when Amy is about six or seven and at the last Christmas reunion before Hope was murdered.

She couldn't continue. Her life- thrown away. She had failed the Vespers, she was on the run from them. The Madrigals? Her own branch? They would never take her back. She was done for.
All of that training she went through- down the drain, why should she even bother?
But she could see that one glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel, maybe...just maybe things would work out.
