But something awful happened. Mr. McIntyre is dead. I can’t really believe it. He’s always been there for me and Dan. I think he’s the reason we’re still alive. And yet, we couldn’t do a single thing to help him when he needed us. We didn’t even know he needed help. And now he’s gone, forever.
The Vespers killed Mr. McIntyre, and if we don’t find the next item on the Vespers’ list, they might kill Uncle Alistair too. We can’t let them do that. We can’t let them take another person we care about.
Vesper 1 wants us to steal a jewel from Germany, but that’s all we know so far. I need you to do some research, to see if you can figure out which one. Let me know if you find anything interesting. It could be what keeps Uncle Alistair, and all the hostages, alive.

You were informed much later than the most up-to-date and fast reading ones of us, you can say that we are always at least one step ahead of you in this adventure. It took a while but somebody amongst you posted not just to share their suspecions of someone else who's supposed to be helping out (Ahem, Sinead to Ian; Ian to Evan; and Evan to Jake. They are guilty of this.) for once since the mysterious crash in the computer system. William McIntyre, his death is such a devastating loss, may he rest in peace, was murdered just after the Wyomings unsuccessfully tried to elliminate you back at the Library of Philosophy and Cosmology in Prague. All we know is that his voice recording pen and yellow legal pad had been stolen by the assassin (all that's left are some client files, they don't seem too important but Erasmus still tucked the names away in his memory just in case) who, by the way, is someone McIntyre had met in the past. It said his face so let assume the assassin was a man.
Hate to break it to you but since Arthur Trent is still alive (probably) he could have done it as he was a man McIntyre knew in his past. However, it was also stated that McIntyre was no match for the murderer - and lets face it, Arthur would already be in his middle ages by that time so does it seem likely for him to have commited the crime? McIntyre would've been under a decade older at least. Is it still a strong possiblility?
Oh yeah, almost forgot, we found out that on your next heist you might end up in Asia, Thailand and Philippines is a really long way away... (For you, I'm currently in the latter.)

No. This will not be easy, it will take all your stealth and cunning to pull this one off. I hate to say it but I think Arthur Trent (AKA Dan and Amy's dad)murdered Mr.McIntye. A lot of information points to it. First the book said that the attacker looked strong. Arthur Trent would be strong by the time he attacked Mr.McIntye. Second it says in the book that Mr.McIntye reconized the attacker and "the smile from the past was the last thing he saw before his knees gave away." Mr.McIntye would have seen Arthur Trent smile in the past and would have reconized Arthur Trent. Third Dan gets a phone call from AJT (Arthur Josiah Trent) that says "Suspend Judgment. The whole story is more complex than it's parts. Wait". The message came after the murder of Mr.McIntye. Suspend Judgment means AJT is asking for understanding and Forgiveness. He was asking Dan to forgive him for the murder of Mr.McIntye.

I have a suspicion that the diamond you're looking for might be the Jubilee Diamond, (a.k.a the Reitz Diamond) which belongs to Robert Mouawad. For now, I guess.
