I have good news and, um, some pretty terrible news. Atticus is safe, thank goodness. We’re so grateful for all your help with the search.
But something awful happened. Mr. McIntyre is dead. I can’t really believe it. He’s always been there for me and Dan. I think he’s the reason we’re still alive. And yet, we couldn’t do a single thing to help him when he needed us. We didn’t even know he needed help. And now he’s gone, forever.
The Vespers killed Mr. McIntyre, and if we don’t find the next item on the Vespers’ list, they might kill Uncle Alistair too. We can’t let them do that. We can’t let them take another person we care about.
Vesper 1 wants us to steal a jewel from Germany, but that’s all we know so far. I need you to do some research, to see if you can figure out which one. Let me know if you find anything interesting. It could be what keeps Uncle Alistair, and all the hostages, alive.

Vesper One wants the Jubilee diamond which was originally known as the Reitz Diamond. It is the 6th largest diamond in the world. It was discovered in 1895. The current owner is Robert Mouawad.

Well this is interesting. Vesper 1 wants you to steal a diamond in Germany, the jubilee diamond. But he says he wants a diamond that is 545.67 carats.
1. The Jubilee diamond is 245.35 carats. The Golden Jubille has 545.67 carats.
2. The Golden Jubilee is part of the Thai Crown Jewels.
So this makes no sense!

I'm so glad that Atticus is safe. Watch out for Cheyenne and Casper. The last time you saw them they were at a the rubble of the Vesper center. They are too dangerous. They could be following you as we speak because Vesper 1 isn't happy that they failed his orders. Be careful! As for the diamond. There are a couple of diamonds that could be it:
The Dresden Diamond: The diamond is named after the Saxony Capital in Germany
The Krupp Diamond: It came from the collection from Vera Krupp whose family supplied items to Germany Army
We will keep you updated with what we find. We will do whatever we can to help. And I figured out who Vesper 1 is. Amy, Vesper 1 is your father.

I found the diomond Dresden Green Diamond: The Dresden Green Diamond is the largest of the very rare natural green diamonds. It is 41 carats and its green color comes from natural and not artificial irradiation. The diamond was discovered in 1722 before the technology for artificial irradiation existed. This diamond is currently part of a research project to help identify diamonds which are naturally colored. The diamond is named after the Saxony Capital in Germany. For most of its history the diamond has stayed in Germany, except during World War II when it was in the Soviet Union, and then in 2000 when it temporarily was in the same exhibit as the Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian museum. The Jubilee Diamond, originally known as the Reitz Diamond is a colourless, cushion-shaped diamond weighing 245.35 carats (49.07 grams), making it the sixth largest diamond in the world. It was originally named after Francis William Reitz, the then president of the Orange Free State where the stone was discovered, before being renamed to honour the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1897.
The original stone, a rough octahedron weighing 650.80 carats (130.16 g), was discovered in 1895 at the Jagersfontein Mine in South Africa. A consortium of diamond merchants from London purchased it along with its even larger sister, the Excelsior, in 1896, and sent it to Amsterdam where it was polished by M.B. Barends. A 40 carat (8 g) chunk was removed, which itself yielded a 13.34 carat (2.668 g) pear-shaped gem eventually purchased by Carlos I of Portugal.
Dorabji Tata acquired it around 1900 and gave it to his wife Meherbai. She used to wear it during her visits to the royal courts and public functions. The Jubilee Diamond was the largest in the world till 1905 when a bigger diamond was exhibited. It was sold only after his death in 1932 and the money went to the formation of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust.

I hope none of the hostages die in the next book. That must have been really hard to chose Uncle Alistair, but I hope he doesn't die. I think Ned, Ted, and Sinead need him in their life because it sounds like he is trying to make a difference in your lives. Plus, he was really close to Uncle Fiske and your mom. I will seriously be ticked off. Nelllie did a good thing with the picture, but it sounds like Ian might be in trouble. I think Isabel is playing him for an idiot which he is a little bit of all and all.

Okay, I think I've found the diamond. At the end of book four, we see that Vesper 1 has sent you, "HELLO CAHILLS! Do you ever feel that you lack a certain sparkle? I do. In fact right now I lack exactly 545.67 carats of sparkle. Get the Jubilee for me and I'm sure I'll feel better. And don't make me say pretty please. I doubt you'll like the consequences." In this, if you can get past the threat, you will see that he gave you some very interesting clues. First of all, he said the gem was exactly 545.67 carats. He/she also said that it is called the Jubilee. Well, I did some reshearch and I found a diamond called the Golden Jubilee. The bad news is it is in Thailand. But I found this interesting; the daimond has a sister, cut from the same daimond, that's whereabouts are unknown. It could be like the Hope Diamond in the way it has changed it's name over time and past has mostly been widly unknown to it's owners. I treid to find a German gem under the name Jubilee too, but i couldn't find anything
