I have good news and, um, some pretty terrible news. Atticus is safe, thank goodness. We’re so grateful for all your help with the search.
But something awful happened. Mr. McIntyre is dead. I can’t really believe it. He’s always been there for me and Dan. I think he’s the reason we’re still alive. And yet, we couldn’t do a single thing to help him when he needed us. We didn’t even know he needed help. And now he’s gone, forever.
The Vespers killed Mr. McIntyre, and if we don’t find the next item on the Vespers’ list, they might kill Uncle Alistair too. We can’t let them do that. We can’t let them take another person we care about.
Vesper 1 wants us to steal a jewel from Germany, but that’s all we know so far. I need you to do some research, to see if you can figure out which one. Let me know if you find anything interesting. It could be what keeps Uncle Alistair, and all the hostages, alive.

What you're looking for is The Golden Jubilee Diamond which weighs 545.67 carats, NOT The Jubilee Diamond of 245.35 carats.
The Golden Jubilee Diamond is the largest faceted/polished diamond in the world and currently in Thailand. Though how you and Dan are going to steal it from The Royal Thai Palace, Amy, I don't know. I hope you'll succeed somehow, only for the sake of the hostages. Any lead on the Vespers?

It's the Golden Jubilee! At first I thought was the Jubilee Diamond, but that is 245.35 carats. The one the Vespers are after calls for 545.67 carats worth. So I did some more research and found the Golden Jubilee met the standards. The Golden Jubilee is the largest faceted diamond in the world. The value of the diamond is between $4-$12 million. It will probably be very difficult to even TRY to steal it.

About the German jewel you need:
I narrowed it down to about two gems.
THE GOLDEN JUBILEE DIAMOND:
The Golden Jubilee, a fancy yellow-brown color, weighs 545.67 carats. The design was created by a Gabi Tolkowsky. It was originally called the Unnamed Brown (original, huh?), until the King of Thailand had it named after his 50th anniversary of his coronation- called the Golden Jubilee. It is currently in the Royal Thai Palace as a part of the crown jewels. You and Dan might want to have a talk with Tolkowsky before you stake out the palace.
THE JUBILEE DIAMOND:
The Jubilee is colorless and shaped like a cushion, weighing at about 245.35 carats. It was originally found in the Jagersfontein Mine in 1895, when it was called the Reitz. In 1896, it was sent to Amsterdam, where a 13.34 carat piece was cut off (the piece is currently missing). Later, it was re-named the Jubilee Diamond- for Queen Victoria's jubilee celebrating her 60th anniversary of her coronation. Then, in 1937, it was sold to Paul-Louis Weiller; who made it into a brooch shaped like a six-pointed star (very beautiful, might I add). It is now in the ownership of a Mr. Robert Mouawad, and the current location is unknown. Mouawad probably has it near his living quarters, so you might have to make a personal visitation. Keep an eye out.
I'd say your best bet would be the colorless Jubilee Diamond, but more research might be needed-I'll help out anyway I can, Amy.

Perhaps the crown jewels used by the Prussians and by the german emperors after they switched things around??? The Vespers would go straight to the top, but thing is, the jewels are in seperate German states spread across Germany, if u steal 1 piece they hid the others. Ur gonna need a team to do a synchronized theft if this is indeed what the Vespers want. If it is, get me a Canadian passport and I'll help u out!!!

Amy, more on the diamond. Most of the people on here say it is the Golden Jubilee, which is correct. It is 545.67 carets and a golden brownish color. Unfortunately, it's current owner is King Buhmboil Adulyadej of Thailland, so this will be harder than anticipated. I'll bring you more info as soon as I get it.
