I have good news and, um, some pretty terrible news. Atticus is safe, thank goodness. We’re so grateful for all your help with the search.
But something awful happened. Mr. McIntyre is dead. I can’t really believe it. He’s always been there for me and Dan. I think he’s the reason we’re still alive. And yet, we couldn’t do a single thing to help him when he needed us. We didn’t even know he needed help. And now he’s gone, forever.
The Vespers killed Mr. McIntyre, and if we don’t find the next item on the Vespers’ list, they might kill Uncle Alistair too. We can’t let them do that. We can’t let them take another person we care about.
Vesper 1 wants us to steal a jewel from Germany, but that’s all we know so far. I need you to do some research, to see if you can figure out which one. Let me know if you find anything interesting. It could be what keeps Uncle Alistair, and all the hostages, alive.

Well, I did some research and it could really be only two diamonds. The Deepdene diamond might make sense, since it is believed to be lost somewhere in Germany. The Dresen Green diamond would also make sense. That is on display. I hope this helped.

I am so glad Atticus is okay, he is an extremely intelligent boy though, so it was no problem for him. I hope that Dan is feeling better now.
We will all miss Mr. McIntyre, he is like a father to us all. He was an amazing man, and he will always be remembered as such. Don't be too hard on yourself, Mr. McIntyre wouldn't have asked your help because he wouldn't want to put you in any more danger.
The Vespers are fine tuned killing machines. Alistair is just one of their many objects, they won't kill him as long as they think they can get something from keeping him alive. Although they may injure him, I don't think they'd kill him until they're certain they can't get what they want.
I would look up some information on the Roman Open Air Museum in Hechingen Stein, it houses the jewelry of many important people from Germany's history. It is inside an old Roman house called Villa Rustica. I don't know if I'm right, but it's worth a shot.

Amy, I'm so sorry to hear about McIntyre. He was a good man. About the diamond, though. I have a theory it was the mysterious treasure that Ferdinead Magellan was searching for. He was a Portugese explorer from the 15-1600's. His two main goals in life were to be the first man to travel the world and to find this treasure. You may want I get CCC to look into him more. The diamond itself is still a mystery, but I'll look into it more.

Anyways, Amy, I found out that the Jubilee Diamond (the 6th largest diamond in the world) has been cut, sold,bought,and presented in MANY different places.
In fact, it was planned to be presented to Queen Victoria but for some reason, that didn't happen. The diamond has been to Amsterdam, South Africa, It might've been to France, and the last person to have this precious gem was: Robert Mouawad

I think this has something to do with the town of Timbuktu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But that's in Mali (which is in Africa). All of this is making my head spin!!!!!!
