I’m baaaack! After a week resting at home in New York, I was relaxed and ready to fly out again. I waved down to my new friends in the Midwest as I flew to ... Seattle! People warned me: bring a rain coat. Along with forests, mountains, and ocean, Seattle has nonstop rain! Well, they were wrong. I arrived to blinding sunshine and crisp spring weather. So I decided to drive straight to the famous Space Needle to wish it a happy 50th birthday!
The Space Needle was created for the 1962 World’s Fair — but trust me, the darn thing is just as sharp now as it was then... 
I nursed my finger wound, and met some great fans, at the famous Secret Garden Bookshop, a place I’d been wanting to visit for years. (My college roommate and his wife were there too, along with a high school pal. It felt like one big family!)
I met some super fans, like Han Lee and Emily, who actually made her own Ekaterina hat! Emily and her sister Hannah are Message Boarders who are looking forward to the next writing post. More on that below ...
I was overjoyed to meet this fan (appropriately named Joy), who was in town visiting all the way from Alaska! 
The next day I went straight to Laurelhurst Elementary, where my old Harvard classmate Bill Gates attended school. Here’s how we two handsome devils looked in college (and no, we didn’t know each other, unfortunately...).
Oddly, all the computers in Bill’s old school are... Macs! (Let’s not tell him, OK?)
A joke told by a student at this school:What is a ten-letter word that starts with gas? Answer: automobile!My kind of humor. Needless to say, we had a great time here. And the hallway artwork was as exuberant as the kids.
The exuberance spilled over to Barnes & Noble in Lynnwood that evening. Along with brothers Miles and Alden, and a couple of fans named Teagan and Lincoln, we rocked the house!
All branches were well represented at this event — including Akira, a proud Tomas.
Seattleites, by the way, are awesomely friendly. They also eat a lot of salmon. There may be a connection there, but I'm not sure. I do know there were a lot of smiles and terrific welcomes at two elementary schools on the north side of town: Kings and Mill Creek. 
Sad news: right after my last school visit, the clouds revolted. Those famous Pacific Northwest rains fell hard. Maybe I shouldn’t have touched the Space Needle so brazenly. Or made that crack about salmon. Or laughed at the joke about gas. Ah well, good thing I had my trusty Seattle baseball cap.
Notice anything unusual so far? That’s right, no statues! You know me, I like statues. They always listen and never talk back. But I just didn’t find any. (Ah well, maybe next time ... )Over the week I’ve been reading your responses to the last prompt. Wow, you guys rock. The lights flickered for a moment, and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. That’s when Jonah Wizard heard the scream. The voice was female, and if he he wasn't mistaken belonged to Amy. He rushed towards the sound of the cry, sneakers skidding on the hardwood floors as he turned the corners and found himself in their smoke filled kitchen. Amy was doubled over by the fridge, gripping the counter and coughing furiously. Dan wasn't in a much better state at his place near the microwave, and the acrid stench of burning hair and smoke fumes were making Jonah's eyes water and his nose burn. "What happened yo?" He called, trying not to choke. "D-Dan put a rat in the *cough mic-crowave!" She sputtered, attempting to wave away the smoke and failing. She grabbed Dan and somehow managed to pull him out of the kitchen, Jonah not far behind. They stumbled into the living room, choking and gasping. "Dan microwaved a rat?" Jonah asked after they had somewhat recovered and opened the windows. The smoke was dissipating but the question still remained. Amy nodded, glaring at her brother. "What? It was a dead one I found near Saladin. I just wanted to see what would happen. I didn't know it would explode!" He said defensively. Jonah facepalmed as Amy launched into a long lecture. He didn't know how it was possible to be around them without going crazy.
(Based off of an unfortunate occurrence in my own home.)

Hi Mr. Lerangis, as you can see, i'm a Lucian and as you already know we will get to the clues no matter what. But i would like to know if the clues are real ? The lights flickered for a moment, and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. That’s when Jonah Wizard heard the scream. He was at the Sheperd School of Music, doing the Deep South swing of his tour. Tomorrow was Dallas, Austin,and on to Luisiana State. But the place was burning. The scream was from a kid, which made it stand out. Most people here now were adults. His concert at Reliant had gone to maximum capacity, but he was just listening to the preformance here.
The scream was close. It must be from a daughter of one of the performers. Then he saw the girl, whose jeans had caught on some wreckage. He yanked her out and immediately sprained his ankle. The girl carried him outside. She glowed in the sunset, and she had the most beautiful smile. She was so ordinary, but he thought she was prettier than many moels he had met.
"Who are you?" he whispered. The girl smiled, and replied, "Amy Koebel. You must be Jonah Wizard. Why were you here?" He nodded and replied, "It is a beautiful hall, and has beautiful singers. And you?"
"My mother is in the Rice Choir." came the girls reply. He tested his ankle, then walked of the Rice campus, past the statue of William H. Rice which was etched in every Cahill's memory, and to his limo without looking back at the girl who shared her name with one of the most important Madrigals in history. He didn't see Amy disappear into the bushes.
Amy, as it turns out, was a Cahill. She opened the small hatch and slipped into the tunnel system below the city. At least seven people rushed out to hug her as soon as she came in the door. They had read the news. They weren't even surprised that she had met Jonah Wizard. Rice U was a pretty big Cahill place. William H. Rice was a Tomas, the students who were famous for flipping the statue around were Ekat, and many members of the MOB (marching owl band, the Rice marching band) had been Janus. The president of Rice was almost always a Lucian. They had bigger problems on their hands. Much bigger.

The text Amy had been studying for hours. And now it made sense. Evan was in danger. She shut down the Skype and cried, the tears falling down her face. Vesper One's text hadn't come yet, but this threat was sure to be in it. She knew that she could find comfort in the arms of any of the Madrigals younger than her brother, but only one would truly understand. The one who had sent that text. Only CJ could understand, but nobody wanted to see CJ's heart. It was as black as the ink that had signed the death notices CJ and associates hated. Black as the feathers of a raven, CJ's nickname. As black as the clouds Evan was now flying through - literally.

Evan wondered how he was going to die. The options in his head weren't great: shoved out of the plane, Casper's gun, Cheyenne's knife, the other blond dude's fists. But he thought it most likely that the plane was going to crash. The pilot obviously wasn't experienced and there was a ton of turbulence. Casper kept yelling at the girl in the pilot's seat. Yeah, girl. The pilot almost certainly wasn't old enough to have a legal driver's liscense. A particularly bad jolt caused the Vesper's heads to knock together hard enough to knock them out. Then the ride became as smooth as silk. The pilot had been causing Tucknee Tailspins a mere five minutes ago. Now the plane was perfecly steady. Who was this girl? The answer he didn't discover before he drifted off to sleep.
P.S. Ye seek, ye shall find the truth in this story.

Wow! I hope you find a statue next time and heres my prompt:
The lights flickered for a moment, and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. That’s when Jonah Wizard heard the scream. He tried to exit the room but just as he was about to reach the door, he heard a click. That thought dawned on him and that was when he realized; he was locked in. Jonah looked around the room for another exit, any just big enough for him and the piece of art to fit. His eyes locked on a window that overlooked the beautiful Italian sky. Jonah went to the window and took out his laser pen. Lucians were always so helpful in a time like this he thought. He made a hole big enough to fit through on the window and looked out. He saw a crow flying toward him and ducked. The bird flew in and landed peacefully on the carpet ground. Jonah looked under the bird and saw a note attached to it's leg. As Jonah was about to grab the note. The door flew open and a man stepped in. Jonah gasped when he saw him. He looks just like the man in the painting he thought. "Who are you?"asked Jonah. " Why I am the almighty Vesper One. Now if you wont mind, I'm just going to ask for the painting there you are holding or else, you will die.

Ok, I just met you, and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I won't give away any info, but I'm the one who gave you the book I wrote. Hope you enjoy it!!!) Anyways, here's the story:
The lights flickered for a moment, and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. That's when Jonah Wizard heard the scream. He waited nervously in what the Vespers called "The Suspense Room." They had brought Amy and Dan through the ominous looking doors. They hadn't come out. And just for drama, Vesper One HAD to make the lights flicker and put smoke machines in "The Suspense Room." Jonah was sitting handcuffed to his chair. WHY had the Vespers HAD to find out that Ian was in Argentina trying to rescue the hostages????!!!
A few minutes later, a man dressed in black wearing a grey mask marched in the room, pulled out a needle and pierced Jonah in the arm with it. Everything went black. Madison and Sinead, who were also handcuffed to chairs in the room, winced. The man dragged Jonah's unconsious body through the door. "What, what where am I, wh? What what wha? Where?"
The Vesper in black grinned. "Now comes the part that I call...DEATH!!! Not very catchy, I know." Jonah eyes darted to the other corner of the room and saw the dead bodies of Dan and Amy Cahill. Jonah felt too tired to move, probably because of the needle. But he nearly shouted his lungs out when the Vesper took out a long, glistening knife, and decapitated him.
Arthur Trent smiled to himself as he threw Jonah's body in the corner, adjusted his grey mask, and went to kill Sinead.
I can't wait for Day Of Doom.
It's cruelty that it can't come out soon!
Will the Cahills win, or lose?

The lights flickered for a moment, then smoke began to fill the air. That's when Jonah Wizard heard the scream.
"Fire" he said to Hamilton who was standing next to him and trying not to frek out, "We need to get out of here"
"But we need to help that person" Hamilton replied, "We can't just let him die"
Hamilton was right Jonah couldn't just let someone die.
"Fine, we'l go help him" he replied "but quickly it's getting harder to breath"
They ran off. They ran towards where they heard the scream.
It seamed like hours when they saw someone lying on the floor. It looked like he was going to suffocate.
"We need to help him" Hamilton said.
Jonah ran towards the man and gestured that Hamilton should help carry them.
They were almost at the door when they heard someone say "Well what do we have hear? To Cahills and an innocent man? Well I guess they all have to die..."

And they immedetly knew who it was. " NELLIE!!!!" Amy screamed. Thats when the Vesper phone went off. Jonah quietly picked it up and read the worst text message ever. Well look who found us. That scream was a Cahill dying. And she has already been shot once,now twice in the heart. Too bad you failed. Vesper One. " No use cuz she is dead" Jonah told Amy. It was true, but Amy refused to take it in. She soon ran out of the warehouse using the window and died quicker than she fell. Now there was three. Only the three.

When Evan heard the news he was dead in a blink of an eye. Someone was killing Cahill for fun and Sinaed knew it. It was all over. The Vespers had won.

Jonah Wizard waved and flashed that famous super-star smile. His fans were screaming his name, the cameras loved him. This is the life, He thought blissfully. He waved one last time before stepping off stage. His security guards quickly ushered him past more screaming fans, and to his dressing room. There, he sent out his hired look-alike named Shawn. He sometimes did this when the fans got to be a bit much. Shawn would go out, take some pictures, get into a limo and ride off. The fans would leave after that, which gave Jonah a hassle-free ride home.
Jonah gathered up the last of his belonging before leaving his dressing room. The lights flickered for a moment, and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. That’s when Jonah Wizard heard the scream. He dropped everything and headed towards the sound, ignoring his natural instincts to run in the opposite direction. He turned a corner to find a room blazing with flames. In the far corner of the room was a man trapped under a lighting fixture that had fallen. Jonah held his shirt over his mouth and he leapt over a lower portion of the fire. Jonah tried to lift the fixture off the mans leg, but it was impossibly heavy. He pushed, and pulled, and tugged until it finally rolled, somewhat painfully off of the man's leg. Jonah put his arm around the man's shoulder and hauled him onto his feet. The man winced as hopped along side Jonah. They reached the hallway, and realized that the fire had spread significantly. They hobbled around corners, through doors, and passed Jonah's dressing room before finally reaching an exit. To Jonah, the exit sign looked like heaven itself. They burst through the door, and gulped in fresh air. Jonah took out his phone and dialed 911. As he was putting the phone to his ear, he realized the man was standing . . . on both legs . . . with no help. He jumped up and made a run for it. Before he got far he felt a cloth being held over his nose and mouth, and his vision went dark.

"Hey, Hammer. You want a campfire? This might be an overreaction." Jonah's voice quavered. That's when he woke up, his ears ringing from the scream. "H-h- Hamilton? Er-Erasmus? You out there yo?"
"You've got to be kidding me! A wonderful campfire like this and no smore's?" Hamilton screamed at Erasmus. Erasmus cringed.
" This fire is for survival, not enjoying melted chocolate, grahm crackers, and crispy marshmallows all in one." he reasoned.
"I am a Holt. We specialize in not making our marshmallows too crispy but a nice warm brown. I don't want to know where your crispy marshmallows come from." Hamilton said.
"This is so messed up yo." Jonah thought as he turned over and went back to sleep.

The world famous superstar had dreaded it and a dense fog covered the stadium. Panic shot through Jonah's mind and his stomach churned. When he understood what had happened, fear was the only thing that registered into his mind. He spotted a deeply shadowed figure in the corner and understood... 2 actually in each corner. Then he heard it "I enjoyed listening to your wonderful singing, Cahill, now let's get to bunsiness, shall we?" Jonah Wizard turned and saw the sight he had dreaded. He gulped then knew whaat he had to do...his best friend was dead...game time!

The lights flickered for a moment, and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. That's when Jonah Wizard heard the scream. Jonah's eyes flew open and he shot out of bed. Smoke was pouring into his hotel room. It was so thick visability was down to almost nothing. The smoke stung his eyes and he began to cough.
Jonah dropped to the floor and crawled to where he thought the door was. He felt it. It was hot. Much too hot. He jerked his hand away. Still choking and coughing he crawled to the sliding doors that opened to the balcony. He tried to push them open, but they wouldn't budge. He checked the lock. The doors weren't locked. He tried again with no luck. Was it possible the doors were dead bolted from the outside?
Jonah's vision was blurred by tears and it was getting harder and harder to breathe. Frantically, Jonah felt around for something to smash the glass. Think! Think! Jonah told himself. Then he remembered something. There was a medium-sized statue by the door! He felt his way back across the room. Suddenly, he felt a wave of intense heat. The door was on fire! Jonah grabbed the statue and ran back to the glass doors not bothering to crawl.
Jonah swung the statue at the glass doors with all his might. There was a mighty crack! Jonah swung again. Crash! The glass shattered! Jonah crawled to the bathroom and grabbed towels. He crawled back to the door. The heat was more intense now. Jonah wrapped the towels around his hands. He stumbled through the hole and fell to the balcony. Shards of glass cut his face and arms. He could hear sirens now.
Jonah looked around. Smoke poured from all the windows on his floor. Why hadn't the sprinklers gone off? There could only be one explanation. Vespers.

cool! a wrighting prompt about Jonah!
The lights flickered for a moment, and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. That’s when Jonah Wizard heard the scream. He sat up fast in his bed. He knew that scream, who's was it? First, he was at his concert singing his knew hit single when all the screaming stopped and only one scream remained. He couldn't make it out. He checked the time. The clock said 7:30. WOAH! How could it have been that late! Jonah scrambled up and through on his famous Jonah Wizard leather jacket and ran out the door. He didn't have any time to call his limo, so he took his dad's old jeep. He wasn't focasing. He was to consentrated on who that voice was and not being late. It slamed in his face. It was so fast Jonah could hardly take a brethe in between it. The air bag came bolting out and Jonah Wizard had a blackout.
"Jonah?" Jonah's dad asked. "Wh-what happend?" Jonah asked."You had a car crash. You've been out for 3 days now." Thats not only the thing Jonah discovered though. That scream he now remembered. And it also told him who Vesper 1 was. "Dad give me the phone. I need to call Amy and Dan." He was going to tell them who Vesper 1 was.

Jonah tapped his recorder, "Come on, work!" He slumped in the arm chair and sighed. Working in the CCC with the rest was fun, but you couldn't record any of your new songs decently without a redcording studio!
The lights flickered for a moment and the scent of smoke began to fill the air. He stared at the recording device, "What the-" It was blinking red. His famous face turned white. "Uh oh." No wonder the recorder wasn't working, it wasn't a recorder.
Just then he heard Sinead yelling- "Has anyone seen my S.B?" The S.B was Sinead's new invention, Security breacher. It knocked out all the security in the room you were in, if you activated it. To conceal it, Sinead had designed it to look like, Jonah slapped his forehead, a recorder.
The problem though, with the invention, was that it didn't work. It killed lights, and then burst into flames...
Jonah shrieked in alarm and grabbed the invention, he hurled it out the open window of his room just as the device exploded.
"What! *gasp* JONAH!!!!!!!!" Came Sineads angry voice. Jonah judged it best to run for his life.
He scooted into the closet, and locked the door.
