Poem:
Cahills Vs. Vespers or Cahills and Vespers
Vespers are evil, awful, and mean
They don't deserve anything but a tiny sardine
Cahills are bright, cool, and awesome
They should get nothing but flowers and blossoms
Gideon and Olivia had several children
Their friend, Damien Vesper, was sadly a villain
Jane, Thomas, Katherine, and Luke
Thinking about Vespers makes me want to puke
Silent, stealthy, and clever, they lead
Most think the Lucians act out of greed
Luke, Katherine, Thomas, and Jane
We will not stop 'til the Vespers are slain
Accomplished, creative, artists they are
The Janus's talent goes very far
Katherine, Jane, Luke, and Thomas
The Vespers, they can't keep a simple promise
Strong, brave, they love adventure
The Tomas's strength is too strong to measure
Thomas, Luke, Jane, and Katherine
The Vespers are ruthless is a place to begin
Curious, smart, their brains are brilliant
The Ekaterina's minds are rather resilient
And last but not least there is Madeleine Cahill
She wished Damien Vesper would just learn to chill
The Madrigals are watching, waiting for peace
Wanting nothing, but for the fighting to cease
The Cahills and Vespers have been fighting for ages
Who will win? I don't know, just keep turning the pages
Hope you like it! (And if this offends anyone, I'm sorry. I was just looking for rhyming words that make sense. :P)

The first elimination round will be on April 28 to give people time. Spread the word! =) We have...eighteen spots left so there's lots of room!
Charli7e....woooow. That is a very cool poem! I like your creativity in making things rhyme...really good!
Here's a cool poem I wanted to share. It's by Brian Jacques, from the book The Legend of Luke
The young must grow old,
Whilst old ones grow older,
And cowards will shrink,
As the bold grow bolder.
Courage may blossom in quiet hearts,
For who can tell where bravery starts?
Truth is a song, oft lying unsung,
Some mother bird, protecting her young,
Those who lay down their lives for friends,
The ehco rolls onward, it seldom ends.
Who never turned and ran, but stayed?
This is a warrior born, not made!
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!
It sends shivers down my spine. VERY cool. What do you think? ~Brooke

Poem: Feeling
The world is rife with sounds I cannot hear
I am not able to listen for the answer I fear
Blind, deaf, mute, unfeeling
Nothing can register fo my mind is reeling
Senses dulled by so much grief
That I will survive this is beyond belief
Lonely and scared, not finding spring
With all the happiness it will always bring
The Sun has never sunk so low
Suddenly there is a rapping on the windw
I peel back the curtain, remembering the last one I had done this for
And saw the face lost forevermore
I can hear the wind rustling through the air
All I can do is stop and stare
At the face on the windowsill
Staying quite still
As I feel the onrush of spring
What amazing sensations it can bring
My mind is no longer reeling
I am no longer unfeeling

Poem:
Trying to Tear Me Down
You whisper about me
Even if I'm right there
You refuse to speak to me
All you do is glare
Your words crush
You refuse to see
That I really don't want
To be your enemy
Don't you see that you're tearing me apart?
Don't you see that you're breaking my heart?
Don't you see how much you hurt me?
And you do all this because of envy
But I'll forgive you anyway
No matter what you do to me
I will choose to say
"I forgive you. I forgive you all the way,"
No matter how much you try to tear me down
No matter how much you stare and frown
I will turn the other cheek
For blessed are the meek
I will pray for you
No matter what you say
I will treat you with kindness everyday

Poem: Summer’s Beauties By Cea-Cea
Summer’s beauties
Lilacs, Roses
Growing day and day
Daisies, Willows
They sing and sway and shine in the sun
Every, everyday
I walk through the meadow
Where summer’s beauties grow
Lilacs, Roses, Daisies, Willows
I think about my lover and all the fun we have
We sing and dance and laugh and play
With summer’s beauties every, everyday
Though I know one day
Summer and her beauties will flyaway
For winter and her frosts come soon
Lilacs, Roses, Daisies, Willows, dead
I will never forget the fun we had
Me, my lover, and summer’s beauties

Wow! Lots of sweet poems! =D THere's amazing talent on here. Here's my comments on your poems!
Charli7e, I've already commented on yours, but I decided to do it again with everyone else's. I love your creativity with the rhyming words! The poem is both funny and realistic to each branch's personality.
Ariel, I love your poem. It's quiet, gentle, yet speaks volumes about the way alot of people feel. Each line has amazing impact! It's haunting, powerful, thoughtful...There's not much else I can say...as people have yet to invent the word to describe poems like yours.
Emily, I've always like haikus. Sometimes it can be hard to get a feeling or point across with so few words....but you did! Also, you perfectly followed a basic rule of haikus. In a haiku, you have to have at least one word referring to nature or the seasons. Flowers are a key part of nature alright!
Rebekkah, your poem is wonderful. It's everything a good poem should be! I love the subject to. Forgiveness is so important, and often overlooked, I think. However your poem portrayed a kind, loving, forgiving person, and clearly illustrated how powerful forgiveness truly is.
Cea, your poem reminds of something one of my favorite authors would write. It's sweet, shows immense feeling, and explains in the gentlest of words something important. Memories, good times, loved ones, and nature will always be things that really matter. For a moment, reading your poem, I was transported to one of my own happy summer memories.
Dracia...It's clear from your words that you have a gift! Your poem is truly masterful, and I think it portrays the undying power of love. It gave me a picture of a rushing darkness, fear clogging your throat, then a gentle touch, wiping it all away.
There are 14 more spots. Spread the word! All of these poems were amazing. April 28 is the first elimination. I can already tell....I'll have a very hard time picking! Rest assured, you are all amazing poets, with an amazing gift. ~Brooke

Sky:
Every single day and night
I look up at the sky.
And see everything I like to see
all the time:
Everywhere is blue,
and clouds are everywhere.
And of COURSE I see the great big sun!!!
Who wouldn't???
At night the whole world's black,
with stars and moon shining.
What would the world be like
without all these great findings?
Yeah, I think this one's better... You can just count the one you like better.

Poem:
Dobby
Barking, barking up a tree,
Dobby, Dobby come to me,
Now you're gone as I can see,
Dobby how I long for thee.
Stuffies can never replace,
What you had in my heart,
And even though we're far apart,
We'll find a way to see each other again.
Barking, barking up a tree,
Dobby, Dobby come to me,
Now you're gone as I can see,
Dobby how I long for thee.
I've known you since you were a pup,
I've watched you growing up,
Now I'll never see you again,
My heart's in pieces like the rain.
Barking, barking up a tree,
Dobby, dobby come to me,
Now you're gone as I can see,
Dobby how I long for thee.
This poem is a tribute to Dobby the dog, my loyal, fun-loving DBFF.
(Dog best friend forever.)
In my poem, Dobby is NOT the HP house elf, he's a dog that I was close to that my Ant had to give away.
Hope you have a nice life, Dobby. Wherever you are...

Misty, your poem is so touching! Animals play a big part in our lives...sometimes they teach us patience (for instance, if you have to teach your animal to do something) responsibility (when you take care of them) and love. Your words tell that story perfectly!

Elimination #2-five will be eliminated, 10 remain
Elimination #3-four will be eliminated, 6 remain

Dobby wasn't my dog, he was my aunt's dog, but he was getting agressive with her 1-year-old son, so she had to give him to the shelter. Trust me, I was in tears for weeks after, and it was such a hard desicion to make. And now, I lost my only reminder of him other than memories: A stuffed dog that looked exactly like the real Dobby.
Oh, and Brook: Am I through to the next round?

Poem
:The vally of secrets...
Far past the towns, past power lines and blaring sounds, is the Vally of secrets.
Stretching out so long, with not a single flower nor a lick of bird song, is the vally of secrets.
Where the black grass waves, the wind doth whisper secrets and not a single secret does it save, in the vally of secrets.
The bird may try and land, but the secrets oh so horrifying scare it off like a shooing hand, in the vally of secrets...
The vally of secrets grows stronger everyday, as every human whispers their secrets away----- :)

O’ WIND BLOW THAT BLOWS THE BILLOWS The meadow by the sea, Is encrusted with amber. Everytime I catch a glimpse, The meadow makes me stammer. The meadow playfully sways above the shining sea. There are mermaids and dolphins, Smiling back at me. O’ wind, O’ wind blowing carefully, Stain the turquoise waters amber for me. Let them be gold, not blue, Washing over the sand, Let there be cry of gulls and waves, Lapping on the shore. Let the waves be lazy and calm, Let the water glint with golden brilliance. O’ wind, O’ mighty wind blowing across the meadow and shore. That is to be my only wish, Nothing more.
Hope I make the cut, Thanks!

The Butterfly
A little catapiller barely more than a speck,
Crawls around making leaves a mess,
It envies those who fly around,
Much perfering to stay on the ground,
Finally ready it starts to hang,
And makes its crysalis in a BANG!
Weaving strands north and south,
Makeing sure not to leave a mouth,
Months later it finally comes out,
And flys away,
without one doubt.
This is my poem:)Hope I make the first cut:)BTW is it good?:)

Poem: Faith from the Night
I slept within the shadows, of cruel memory.
I woke with my sight clouded, tears made my vision shimmery.
I rose upon a dream, but fell before the night.
I hear the hard past whisper, my recollected flight.
My mind remembers in a dream, the day I might have died.
The day the world turned backwards, and I failed to think I tried.
The night had been like this one; as cold and cruel and dark.
The light in the adjoining room, had started the first spark.
As I had slept the tiny spark grew unto a flame,
And spread throughout the house in less than minutes in its game.
I awoke with wretched coughs and couldn't take a breath.
I fell upon the floor awhile it tried to bring me death.
I'd rolled to the east window that viewed the hunting wood.
I'd shattered through the clear glass screen, and ran for all I could.
Huddled in the blanket, the fog had woven 'round me.
I'd prayed that God would loosen, the mental ropes that bound me.
As I had walked the village, that wasn't any more.
All'd been turned to ashes, and dirt the only floors.
I'd cried for the great loss of all that I'd once known.
God gave me strength and aid as I faced the future alone.
I am the very last of my dear family and kind,
For more than one good village was burned cruelly down like mine.
The flames were all deliberate, I know that in my heart.
But in this world I have a role, and I shall do my part.
The past be put behind me, though my mind should grieve.
As I awoke from real nightmares, I knew God'd never leave.
He's been there for me always, he's chosen me by name.
He's loved me with unending love, that I should do the same.

Poem: Behind a barrier of Zeus's own themes
An Army of Evil roils and teems
On the other side of that Deadly Gate
And Army for Good lies in wait
Children and parents together prevail
Or even the Gods themselves will quail
(I wrote this about 2 years ago. It's a Prophacy-type poem, and I know it's for PJO, but its one of my favorites)
Poem 2: Her hair is a beautiful Scarlet,
Her lips red as a cherry
Her eyes are a brilliant Violet
She glows like a yellow canary
Her Ivory skin is smooth and fine
Softened with essence of lime
The pond behind her Aquamarine
Navy blossems soft and serene
The grass around is a nice deep Green
Around White stones with a silvery sheen
(Wrote ths in English class. I had to use at least 10 colors in a ten line peom/story. Hope you like.)

Olivia, your poem is haunting. It's written in a really cool style, unique and packed with imagination. Brilliant! =)
Livy you live in Oregon? Sweeeeeeet. =) =) =) While your poem is hort, it speaks volumes about one of the simplest, most beautiful parts of life. It's wonderful! I too, read your signature. I'm so very, very sorry. I'm praying for you everyday; I'm so thankful you still have hope.
Leah, I love the sea too! Wonderful words that reminded me of when I was around 8, playing on the beach and among the tidepools. Great job! =)
Good job, Topaz! Good words, and it weaves a descriptive scene that happens every year. =)
Mary....I don't know what to say. AMAZING poem! I love the story, the words-everything! Wonderful! Faith, hope, courage. I hear them echoing. =)
Skittlia; I like both of your poems. =) Good descriptions...the girl in poem two sounds a little like a character in one of my stories. Which one do you want me to judge for eliminations?
Hi William! Love your poem. Rick Riordan is a cool writer; so are you! I think you should send this poem to him. It's that cool. =)
Everyone wrote AMAZING poems. Some wrote about a fave book, or an experience, or just plain used your imagination to create a story within a story. I love all your poems! YOu guys have amazing talent. I'm not going to easily forget ANY of them. ~Brooke =)
P.S. Just curious; I posted a poem by Brian Jacques at the beginning of this thread. What do you all think of it?

As I wake to the days first dawn
the birds are singing a peaceful
song that speaks of tranquility throghout the
land held aloft by the lords gentle hand
And though the sun only shows it's peak
soon into the sky it shall sneak to replace
the moon turn night from day till the suns rays
fade away and the moon replaces the sun in the sky
and the light fades away from the world and

Destiny, your poem makes me sad. Good sad, not like I'm sobbing. But it's so quiet, and gentle. =) Loooooove it!
Livy, sure, I'll use this poem instead. =) This one's good too! It tells a story, but more than one. Stories within stories within a poem. Really cool!
I made something up, I wanted to show you guys.
Hope is a quiet whisper
That echoes loudly
Courage is a beating heart
That presses on
Love is a wild river
That tenderly holds our hand
Truth is a simple thing
Yet is the greatest key
Imagination runs wild
But is one of my closest friends
Freedom is a shining star
Often gone unnoticed
But the greatest of these is faith:
That which we believe.
I'm not sure what to call that...but what do you guys think?~Brooke, the first half of Night'n'Gale
