Don't worry! Middle school is no big deal!! I was also sort of nervous when I started 6th grade but really it's nothing to be worried about. The first few days you might get lost, but you can just ask anyone for directions and sooner than you think you'll know where everything is. :) Stick to people and make friends, everyone there will be new too so everyone will want to make friends just like you and therefore you shouldn't have any problem! If you haven't used lockers before, I'm not going to lie to you, they are horrible to open if you don't know how to. I spent my first week of middle school without being able to open my locker, but in the second week I asked for help and I learnt. Ask your teachers, other kids in your grade or even older kids and I'm sure they will help you no problem. Remember you can ask anyone for help and you're not alone! Everyone else in your grade will be going through the same thing as you are, and you can help each other. I can't think of anything else to say but ask me anything if you have questions, and remember middle school is not as horrible as it seems! Good luck!

There is no need to be so freaked out you still have like 5 months or somthing till you go to middle school, and its not actually that bad. Yah i know it can be scarry going to a new school, but you will get used to it. And there is nothing wrong with your size i used to be like the smallest person in my class too, but when i started middle school it turned out that i was like the 6th smallest person. Dude just relax there is still the summer vacation to go. And if you ever get bullied just tell a teacher or trusted adult.

Dont worry going to a new school may not be so bad. I'm in 7th grade and went to a new school, I am also the shortest in my school. Just don't worry u will make new friends, and if kids bully u just tell an adult, that's wat I did. And try to be more involved in school, trust me it'll help. WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!! Calm down!!!! The stories are fake!!!! Trust me. I was so scared when I started high school. Where I live, we don't do middle schooling. We have primary school from kindergarten till year 6 and high school from year 7 till 12. I'm in year 7, and the tallest girl in year 7 (I think). I haven't met everyone yet in my grade, even since its been a term, but THOSE STORIES ARE FAKE!!!! If your still scared after all those helpful and impressive advice, think this. I'm my own boss and no one can push me around. I did, and no one wanted to mess with me. Literally. I stood up to a girl for my best friend, and that girl got suspended 3 times, I think once expelled and punched a year 8 in the nose. She seemed scared of me. So yeah, just remember those stories are fake and the bullies...well, there's this one guy who non-stop bullies me but I pretend to ignore it. Sometimes, I do what he does to my advantage. I'll give you two examples that happened. It was math, (we all hate math) and he sits behind me in math. He kept poking me with his ruler, asking me what the time was. I had enough of it and took his ruler. He kept complaining on how he needed that, and I was like 'well then, you should've not poked me then' and stuck out my tounge. At the end of the lesson, he put his foot out to try to trip me over and I stepped on it!!!! So yeah, try to ignore the bullies if they're are any or tell a teacher. Don't worry, just...13 weeks ago, I was in your exact position. I know what your going through. Except I'm the tallest in my grade....and being a scardy cat? You need to face your fears, or it'll just pull you back from all the exciting things you can do in life!!! I know a person who's a scardy cat, and because of it, wouldn't want to go on this particular ride in the Easter Show. They came with me one year, and I begged them to go on, and then they said 'ok' and in the end, enjoyed it!!! You gotta face your fears soon, or else it'll haunt you for the rest of your life. I had, and now living the dream!!! Well, not literally but now I'm not afraid to go futher in life :). So, don't worry, cause the stories are fake and pretty soon you'll be wondering 'why was I scared in the first place?'. I know I had :P.

Oh, don't worry. It's not all scary. I'm in 7th grade and I am tall, but I wasn't tall in fifth grade. You could get a growth spurt over the summer, or something. That's what happened to me!! I was 5'2 in fifth grad and now I'm 5'6, that's 4 inches in two years!! And I know people in 7th grade who look like they should be in kindergarten. Trust me, nothing bad will happen. But, I might not be the best person to talk to you about this. You may care about what other people think of you, I know a lot of people who do. But I'm not afraid to be myself and show off MY colors. But be yourself, don't let people mess with you about your height, and you'll do fine. Trust your Cahill friends. . .

Don't worry darling (I'm assuming you're a girl)!!!!! You'll be fine!!!!!!! :) I'm a sixth grader, and when I started middle school this past year, I was freaked out too. My school is so ridiculously complicated that I thought I'd be late to every class and never find my way around!!!! Boy was I wrong. :) It was soooooooo easy!!! And if this is your first year getting combo lockers, don't worry about that either. My combo is burned into my brain by now. At first, you'll be a little nervous and feel kind of out of place and transplanted, but middle school is a lot of fun! :) You meet tons of new people (good way to start fresh), make tons of new friends, the day goes by faster, if you get a bad or mean teacher you're not stuck with her for the whole day, and there's tons of variety! :) You'll love it, trust me. :)

Carla- About lockers, I have something hilarious to tell you!!!! So when we had the time when the new students would come to the school and try their lockers, I was stuck with two girls who had lockers in a different part of the school. So I said I could do it on my own and my guide went with the other two girls. I found my locker, which is #129, and I looked at my combo on my sheet, and I started putting in my numbers. The guides (who were older students) said that once you opended your lockers 3 times by yourself you were to report back to the gym. So I tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried....... I thought my locker was stuck or something!!!! Another guide came by and opened my locker, proving that it wasn't stuck, but I couldn't figure out how to open it!!!!!!!! I got so frusterated I almost started crying, and I kicked the locker. Finally, when the halls were almost empty, I figured out that I had been turning the wrong way!!!!!!!! Like, for left I had been doing right, and vice versa!!! It was sooo funny!!!! And I'm all like, "OH!!!!!!" and this really annoying dude named Colin is like, "Oh what? Why can't you get it open? Are you that stupid?" Yeah, so he's really annoying. He drives me crazy, and I drive him crazy (mostly because I hate Chuck Norris, who is his idol :P). But now I realize how silly I really was!!!!!! :)

How tall are you? I'm not tall either, but believe me, you'll grow between 5th and 6th grade.
I'm in 7th now, and don't go to a conventional middle school, but I have plenty of friends who do, and they are doing just fine.
Are you a boy or a girl? It depends on whether or not your height will be even a slight problem.
You'll love middle school once you get settled, trust me. :)

OK, yeah, I've been there, done that. I know how you feel. Listen to what I'm about to say:
My own survival kit for new middle schoolers!:
1-Don't be, or look, scared.
2-Be calm, everyone likes someone who is easy going
3- Make friends quickly, be friendly to everyone, don't wait for someone to come up to you, go up to them
4- If they make fun of your hieght, make a joke like, "And you're a freakishly large giant!" and don't let it bother you.
5- Look and act your best
6- If you get lost, ask someone for directions, don't be shy, cause then you'll never make it to class!
7- When people say somthing bad about anyone else, make it a piont to stop it! You're the responsible one, and they are just immature
8- Don't try to copy other people's personalities (really don't, it annoys people) be yourself.
9- Learn how to get around the school quickly, study every place, and it'll seem like home.
10- Don't mumble, be firm and say what's on your mind (nothing mean though) don't let others interrupt you, if they do, say somthing like "Hey! I was talking." LOUDER is better than softer
11- Join a club or sport, or show the school your TALENT!
12- If your getting a locker, learn your combination as soon as possible (I've had bad moments with this myself...)
13- Don't let people get on your nerves
14- On your firt day of middle school, try to wear somthing different, like a new style, and put your hair up like you never really do. This makes you look like a confident person and makes an impression! ;)
Thats' about it! Just remember these years because they'll be memorible! I'm in high school now and my 6, 7, 8 grade years were fun.

Woah, Woah, Woah, HOLD THE CHEESE, MAN!!! Middle School is just like regular school(because it is) All you need to know is what classes you go to on what day, your locker combo, your locker number, And most importantly, WHERE ALL YOUR CLASSES ARE! Don't worry! I memerised all this stuff in the first week going to school! And if you are going to attend a big school, DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR A MAP!!! And, I know a lot of short kids in school! And you know what they all have in common? THEY ARE FUNNY AND LIKE TO BE THEMSELVES!!!!! If you stick to being yourself, EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY! I promise! And I am a proud 6th grader...Soon to be seventh! Can't wait! And if people call you short, you tell 'em that you skipped a couple grades!!! I think Middle School is the bomb! And if you are all in advanced classes, then you actually have less work!!! And you don't really have homework, Most work is done in class!!! Good Luck, but you don't need it! You are going to be just fine, TRUST ME!!!! ;)

Okay, me an 8th grader and am going to high school. Will give advice: here are some tips:
1) Set an impression for the first week of school to your teachers.
2) Never make excuses, so do all of your homework.
3) Stick to things that you like to do(ex. music, drama club, art, etc.).
4)Hang out with kids that like the same things, but don't cause bad influences(i lost one of my best friends to this cause)
5) Follow all the rules.
6)Express who you are, and not what others want from you.
7) Don't be afraid to make new friends. If they don't wanna be friends with you, don't get upset about it.
8) If boys are acting stupid, don't address it. Let the teacher handle them.
9) Never eat the school's nachos or sloppy joe.
Here are some tips for individual classes:
Language arts: don't be afraid to share stories with the class if the teacher asks. The teacher will like you more.
Math: Show ALL of your math work. The teacher will appreciate it.
Science: Follow the lab safety rules(if you do labs in your school).
Soical studies: Participate in any socratic seminars and don't be afraid to share your opinion.
Band/orchestra/ chorus: PLay/ sing the stuff correctly. Do that, and you won't be yelled at.
Art: Follow directions
Gym: Participate and show good sportsmanship

@Kim: HAHAHA!! I feel bad for you! I learnt to open my locker like the 2nd week of middle school. My mom actually had to come with me to my locker after school one day when all the other kids had left, to help me out because I was too shy to ask teachers! That kind of thing happens to me all the time, when I think I'm doing something right and then I'm doing it the polar opposite to right until I realize (like you did with your "OHHH" moment) and do it the right way.

1. Do NOT show that you are scared.
2. Find a group of friends and stick witht hem
3. Be yourself. Do not worry about what other people say.
4. Do NOT stress out about homework (if you have any. I never have any)
5. Do NOT mess with the popular kids
6. Try to make friends.
7. Avoid bullies. (If they pick on you,find their weak spot) 8. Teachers are nothing. If you got a problem with them, tell them (Or have your mom email them)
9. Write your locker combo down where no one else will look (I learned the hard way. I had to have my teacher unlock my locker)

I just went through that trauma too! except the shortest kid in class. But don't worry, there's nothing to be afraid or nervous about! When I first started middle school, it was hard to get use to the new schedule and all, but make some new friends, keep old friends, and be YOU! I did that and now I have TONS of friends. Life gets easier as you go on (sometimes).
But keep in mind, the first day of middle school, I was trampled by eighth graders....
Bullys?
If they pick you as their target, ignore them. If they insult you say "Whatever." If they physically hurt you, well there's a problem, run, scream for help, or whatever to get out of the mess.
Teachers?
Most of my teachers are nice! :) and I quote most....

its actually not that bad. i enjoy it mor, i think. you get electives and if you have friends its 10 times more better. dont freak out. thats the only thing you cant do. the teachers at my school rock. im sorry your so short and its so mean for the teacher to ask if you were in kindergarden. just make sure you have enough time for homework and not to forget about it.
