Anyone wanna be my ally
Willow's POV
Up in one of the tall evergreen trees a slight wind blowing from the east sends fallen pine needles awir in the air. Strips of white clouds streak across the early june sky and mockingjay's sing peacefully. A sudden change to their tune alerts me that my brother is coming near. The mockingjay's have changed their song into a sweet high noted whistling lullaby. I sing back and my brother appears his sandy blonde stands out from the green foilage.
"What are you doing up there" he calls his voice traveling up through the wind currents
"Enjoying myself" i call
"i need to talk to you" he shouts the wind getting stronger and the endless rows of windmills start spinning faster and faster
"Then come up here" I say smiling down at his tall figure
"fine then" He agrees climbing up a neighboring tree several smaller branches crack under him but like me he is also light and small even though he is 19
"What is it you needed to tell me" i ask playing with a small twig
"I needed to say i love you, i loved your sister too, but......."
"Will!" I scream at him "Just stop it, we couldn't do anything to prevent it she took tesseare i didn't we are fine after dad got that new job at the dam" I scream at him
"I never got to tell her i loved her" he says so quietly i can barely hear him through the wind
"Will she knew you loved her, we all did, it's one of those things that just happen, you don't think i miss her too, you don't think i lay awake worrying about tomorrow, she was 12 i am 12"
"Willow i'm sorry, just remeber that okay that i love you more than i love the full moon or the sun rise or the cute little dimple on the side of your cheek" he says and i blush my windblown cheeks turning a deeper shade of pink than i knew possible.
"Do you see that Will" i scream pointing to the sky "What's it doing here, Will!" I shreik a hovercraft is coming into veiw and i desprately hold onto the tree as the claw like arm reaches down to pick something up. It's motors create an even stronger wind current as it leaves knocking me out of my tree, i hold on to a thicker branch trying to find a branch below my feet that i can stand on but no luck. "Will help me!" i scream. he scurries down the his tree and stands poised under mine
"Willow let go" he says his voice calm but shaky
'Let go, are you insane"
"Not insane just let go" his voice calmer now i let go of my branch and fall 30 feet into his strong arms. I hug his neck as he cradle's me just then my branch snaps in two and i hug onto will even tighter.
"forever and ever" i wisper into his ear holding him tight "don't you ever let me go"
"I promise"

nooooo!!!!!!!! i just wrote my WHOLE POV when i realized that u said 'Pov's BEFORE the reapings" :( i just did the time when u get to talk to the family members before you leave:( ugh..... i saved it so i could use it l8r lol.
Well, here is the right one.... kinda long..
Sterling's POV
"Do I look okay? Too much I think," I told my brother Westan. He is older than me, but ever since our parents died, he was my best friend.
"You look beautiful," he said. "Don't you see that? Stunning."
"I'm not used to that. I wouldnt know. Since when was I worried about how I appear? Never until today. What are the chances I was going to get picked? 1 out of 900? I don't think so," I snapped. Yes, I do kind of think it was harsh. "sorry," I whispered.
Westan chuckled a little. "Sorry? Don't be sorry."
"But, Wes! What if you get picked? What then? Oh. I know. I'll volunteer," I said.
"Sterling. Listen to me. Even if I get picked, you are to stay put. You wont even cry," he said.
"You know I don't cry." I thought of the time when Westan was almost killed by a boy at school a few years back. "Well, most of the time."
He did his little chuckle again. I love the chuckle. It makes me feel safe. "You won't get picked. Even if you are, no one can dare kill you. You can fight."
Then we left.

Tori's POV
I woke up and found mom and Siena still sleeping. I smiled and left a note on the table that I had to start work 'early'. I quickly got my shoes and jacket on and ran outside trying to stay hidden in the shadows. I grabbed my bow and arrows that were hidden under the bushes and waited in the shadows.
"Hey, Tori and just to let you know I got here first!" Jem said.
I rolled my eyes and pushed him down. "And I wanted to let you know that I'm goingto beat you there." I said.
I dashed off into District 4's rocks and sand. Over the hill the trees started coming into view and the docks. I ran down towards the trees and climbed one up quickly.
"Okay you win that one. We better start getting food before the peacekeepers come out." Jem called.
I heard a few twigs snap and saw a peacekeeper coming towards us. Jem noticed it too and climed up the tree and sat next to me.
"What are we supposed to do?" I whispered.
"I don't know just stay here until they go away." he replied. I sighed and grabbed by bow.
"I'm not going to wait." I said. I quickly took some pebbles out of my shoe and readied my bow.
the pebbles went flying to the other side of the hill and the peacekeeper went running after it. We jumped down from the tree.
"And now we hunt." Jem grinned while he pulled out his trident. Then we went deeper into the forest.

Have anyone of you seen the Hunger Games message board on the Stacks? I think Mod Jen moderates (sp?) it!
Novle's POV.
I kicked the man in his abdomen, hard, and knocked him out. 3 year old Tim claped with joy. "Good job Novle! You killed the robber!" I smiled with satisfaction. "Thank you little bro. But I think I just knocked him out." I took the dead body out side into the grave yard about 5 minuts away. They always took care of it. It was 4:00 AM and the night before the reaping. I had already chosen that I wasn't going to go into the Hunger Games. I was way to cool for it and if I did get picked, I was going to find the nearest person and yell "Charlotte said she would volenteer for me!" Or whoever was the nearest person, and make them go. Nor would I ever volenteer, ever. For who exactly? Well I guess I would only go if Paris got picked. But what were the chanses of that? 1 out of like, what? 150? Anyway, it wasn't going to happen. I shouldn't even think about it. "Kids, we need to get some sleep. Its a big day today." Mom said. She didn't sound to exited though. Paris shiverd. Her, Tim, dad, and mom where standing on the stair case looking down at the living room where I was. Luckly, Jake was at his dads house and Lane had slept through it. Jake was the only one with a diffrent dad. Paris held on to mom tight. "Its going to be OK Paris! You only have your name in there once. Right?" Paris didn't answer. I sighed. This was her first year. I rememberd my first year. I wasn't scared at all. Even though my mother had been picked when she was little, (somebody volenteered for her) I was still never scared about it. Why? Not even I myself new. They all headed to their rooms exept for me. I grabbed my bow and knives and........... dance bag and ran out the door. Embarassing enogh, I loved to dance. I had started taking dance lessons when I was 4 and loved it my whole life. Iran 2 miles, which was rather easy for me at the time, into the woods. I really wasn't supposed to untill after 6:00, but, then again, I really wasn't supposed to go out at all! So just this once, I was going to disobey my mother and the capitols rules at the same time. Once I got in, I found a flock of ducks by a pond. I killed 4 of them to bring back to my family. That whole day, in total, I got 6 ducks, 2 squirls, 1 pound of maple sirup, and a deer. Shoot! I had always did better it seamed. I always leaved people jaw dropped by all the stuff I would get out of the woods, but I sometimes would do so bad. Like today. I took out her 8 big bags and stuffed everything in. I ran into the shoe dealers to sell one of my ducks. Instead, he bought 3 and I earned $30 dollars. $10 for each. I quietly put all the meat away in the big fridge for the meat I caught in the woods. Leaving my knife and bow and arrows at home, I ran over to my best friend, Kayle's Zander, mom's dress shop. Kayle was very rich. Her mom's dress shop, Dancing Laidies, was very expencive. But every year, Kayle would sneak a dress out of the shop to my house. Her mother always found out bout never seamed to care. "Welcome Novle Johnstonne! Come in! Ready for your dance lesson?" Kayle's mom asked. She was my teacher. I was always the last because I had to go hunting before I came. "Hi Novle!" Kayle said as I walked in. We danced for only about 10 minuts before Mrs. Zander stopped us. "OK girls I promised your parents I was going to take you to the reaping so I told them to make sure to pack something nice to wear. Go get dressed and meet me outside." I got out my dress I had packed yesterday and went into the bathroom to change. It was orange with a ruffle v neck and went down to about your shins. I also took out my pearl necklase and hoop earings. I got my 5 inch blue heals out and got them on. Borrowing some of Kayle's makeup and pulling waist length hair down, I was ready to go. I met Kayle's mom outside. "Alrighty laidies, lets go!"

I grabbed my bow and knives and........... dance bag and ran out the door. Embarassing enogh, I loved to dance. I had started taking dance lessons when I was 4 and loved it my whole life. Iran 2 miles, which was rather easy for me at the time, into the woods. I really wasn't supposed to untill after 6:00, but, then again, I really wasn't supposed to go out at all! So just this once, I was going to disobey my mother and the capitols rules at the same time. Once I got in, I found a flock of ducks by a pond. I killed 4 of them to bring back to my family. That whole day, in total, I got 6 ducks, 2 squirls, 1 pound of maple sirup, and a deer. Shoot! I had always did better it seamed. I always leaved people jaw dropped by all the stuff I would get out of the woods, but I sometimes would do so bad. Like today. I took out her 8 big bags and stuffed everything in. I ran into the shoe dealers to sell one of my ducks. Instead, he bought 3 and I earned $30 dollars. $10 for each. I quietly put all the meat away in the big fridge for the meat I caught in the woods. Leaving my knife and bow and arrows at home, I ran over to my best friend, Kayle's Zander, mom's dress shop. Kayle was very rich. Her mom's dress shop, Dancing Laidies, was very expencive. But every year, Kayle would sneak a dress out of the shop to my house. Her mother always found out bout never seamed to care. "Welcome Novle Johnstonne! Come in! Ready for your dance lesson?" Kayle's mom asked. She was my teacher. I was always the last because I had to go hunting before I came. "Hi Novle!" Kayle said as I walked in. We danced for only about 10 minuts before Mrs. Zander stopped us. "OK girls I promised your parents I was going to take you to the reaping so I told them to make sure to pack something nice to wear. Go get dressed and meet me outside." I got out my dress I had packed yesterday and went into the bathroom to change. It was orange with a ruffle v neck and went down to about your shins. I also took out my pearl necklase and hoop earings. I got my 5 inch blue heals out and got them on. Borrowing some of Kayle's makeup and pulling waist length hair down, I was ready to go. I met Kayle's mom outside. "Alrighty laidies, lets go!"

I know that ever since that day, I made a vow to never trust another person, except me, again. "Okay, time to hunt." A twig snapped. I saw a Peacekeeper come twords me. I climbed a tree and was a bit worried. I don't want to be cought. I threw a rock at some other player and the Peacekeeper started to run to it. I then ran into the woods, hoping that I can keep my promise about coming back alive. I... wanted to see her again...

Reaping day. It was the same every year. Someone got picked and someone else volunteered. Maybe I would get picked this year. If I wasn't I could just volunteer. Of course someone would probably beat me to it, just like every year. Oh well. I put on my new sparkly white dress and walked out the door. I laughed as I saw my brother Conner who was already outside. "You're suit is ridiculous!" I laughed. It wasn't a lie. He looked like a burnt marshmellow in his puffy black suit. "Shut up. It's time to go anyway." He said. "No changing clothes now." I laughed to myself as we walked to the Justice Building. He really did look fuinny.

I chopped down another tree before the reaping. Even, though I didn't live in 1, 2 or 4, I was a career. Today, I was going to volunteer for anybody. I hate Distict 7. I would have done better in 2. The air always smelt of pine, which I hate and every single day, we have to cut down trees or turn them into paper. I was lucky enough to be a cutter. I was glad I would be leaving it all behind today.

Conner and I get our fingers pricked, then go to wait in our assigned sections. Finally a lady named Orthoclase comes up on stage to pick who will be the tributes for this years hunger games. I'm really excited. I hope I get picked, but if I don't I'll just volunteer. "Ladies first," I hear Orthoclases voice say into the microphone. "Raquel Lockhart," Ugh she used my real name. Wait, she used my real name! I'm tribute! I proudly make my way on to the stage, beaming all the way. To ensure my spot I gleefully yell "I volunteer as tribute!" and laugh. Orthoclase smiles and says "And now for the boys. This years male tribute is-"

The finger prick hurt no more than a tap on the arm. I was used to this stuff. "I'll see you after the reaping, okay? You'll be fine," Westan was saying. I couldnt really focus on him at the moment. We were split up according to age. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to get picked or not. My name was in the ball 32 times, Westan's name 40. This was nothing compared to the other boys and girls from school. I decided not to think about it when I saw Corvangia, dressed in her traditional Capitol outfit with sparkley silver hair, step on stage. We watched the video of the District 13 uprising again. It is the same one every year. When it was over, my entire district was silent. Finally Corvangia spoke up with an enthusiastic "Now for you've all been waiting for!" No, really, I can wait. She walked over to the ball with all of the girls' names. "Ladies first!" she said as she tried to find the eye of every girl in the croud. Then without hesitation, she grabbed out a folded piece of paper and clearly announced two words. A name. My name. "Sterling Craze." This was it. I made my way up to the stage. I spotted Westan in the croud. "I love you," I mouthed. "You more," he mouthed back.

I was going to use her strategy to win. Then, Andromeda pulled the girls name and reads "Jula Wood". I'm in luck today. I start pretending to cry as I walk up to the stage. I'm still sobbing as she calls the boy's name. Oh, no not him I think.

I gripped Siena's hand as we walked towards the girls side. I dropped Siena off at the section for girls ages: 12. then as I walked over to girls ages: 16 Jem caught my arm.
"What?" I asked.
"Good luck... I guess. How many times is your name in?" he asked.
"...32... How many times is yours in?" I replied.
"35... Hey, it dosen't matter right because what are the chances of us getting picked?" Jem said.
"You just keep looking on the bright side and maybe I'll see it too." I laughed and gave him a hugg before heading to my section.
"Welcome, welcome. the time has now come to pick our tributes. Now for the girls." Annesta said. She clomped her shoes to the end of the stage and said, ".....Siena Fairchild!!!"
I watched in horror as I saw my little sister walked onto the stage. I quickly pushed pass peacekeepers (and maybe kicked too) and ran towards Siena. "I volenteer as tribute!" I yelled.
"Your name?" Annesta asked.
"Tori Fairchild." I whispered into the micriphone.
"Okay then! Now for our boy tribute..... Alex Musker!" She said. "No, volenteers??? Okay here are district 4's tributes of the 73rd hunger games. And may the odds-"
I ran up to her and stepped on her foot saying, "be ever in your favor. Yeah yeah lets go."

"This years male tribute is- Ashton Flint!" Thank god it's not me. I can't believe Raz is going though. I mean I knew she would, but now I hate the idea even more, because it's not an idea, it's real. My sister's going to go fight to the death and there's nothing I can do about it, no way I can protect her. Unless... "I volunteer as tribute!" I scream. I can't take her place, but at least this way I can keep her safe for as long as possible. "Well then what's your name?" Orthoclase asks me. "Conner Lockhart," I tell her. "Well looks like we have a brother and sister this year. Ladies and gentlemen your District 1 tributes!" Raz and I are rushed into the Justice Building. "Why are you doing this?" I walked like those cool girls at school who think there everything. Actually, I am one of those girls. I knew that I wouldn't go in, and nobody was going to make me. Then, a wave of worrie rolled in me. What if Paris DID get chosen? Then what? No. She tried to forget the thought but it just kept popping up. Kayle's mom seemed kinda worried about her own daughter. She was her only child. All the other girls dressed up in the cheap stuff while me and Kayle dressed like the best of the best. "What will you do if you get picked?" I asked. "Do what you are doing. Yell she volenteers as tribute for me!" We laughed. The others shushed us as we walked into our group of friends. That reaper person, who I could never remember her name, stepped up on the stage. "Why good afternoon district 3. This is an exiting day! We will be picking the tributs for this years Hunger Games." Kayla mouthed every word she said. I tried to hold back a giggle. "Well lets go with the beautiful and extrodinary girls first." The reaper person went over to the bowl with the girls names and unfoled one. "Paris Johnstonne." She read off. I felt vomit running up my chest as my little sister that felt like just yesterday was a baby walked up onto the stage. "I volenteer!" I manage to yell. Tears almost jumped out of my eyes as I said the words. No turning back. I thought as I walked up stage. "Wow! A volenteer! Now, for our boy tibute." She fished out a nother piece of paper and unfolded it. "Ben Conal." Ben,I guess, walked up on the stage to join us. "Well then, meet this years tributs. Alrighty then thats is sadly! Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!"

Tori's POV
The train ride was pretty boring. Alex talked the whole time about physics and the probabilty of his name getting picked. I was sooo glad when it was time to go to our rooms. I would have to admit that I fell asleep quickly and woke up to Mags. "Good morning! Its time to get ready for training ."she said with a smile.
I nodded and quickly got ready and ran down to the training center. I glanced at all the tributes to see who would want to make an alliance with. Hmm... Maybe the girl from district 11, Jaz... the girl from 12, Tasnia.. and maybe the girl Willow from 5.
When the trainer letted the tributes start I was surprised trying to get the same bow as Jaz, Tasnia, and Willow. I smiled and took the next one. Now is your chance to make allies I thought. Tasnia and Jaz were alreay talking. I walked up to them and said, "Do any of you guys want to be my allies?"
Jaz studied me before saying, "I'm okay with it. What about you Tasnia?"
"Yeah, I'm cool with it. Hey do you guys want to ask that girl named Willow too?" Tasnia asked.
I nodded and walked over to Willow. "Hey I was wondering if you want to be allies?"
She looked at me and said, "I want somebody who is smart trust worthy, and is able to hunt. Can you do all that?"
"Well lets see. I got straight A's on my report card. I never told a soul about this person's secret, and I bet I can get bullseye on the board." I walked over to the archery station and got ready to shoot. Don't think just do, it was almost as if Jem was here and said that. I letted go of the arrow and watched it land right in the middle.
Willow laughed and said, "I was going to let you be my ally anyways. I didn't really expect you to do that."
I laughed and started working with my new allies and friends.

Sterling's POV
The boy from my district, Riku I think was his name, seemed pretty calm to me. I was going to find out soon. I hadn't noticed him come up to the stage until we had to shake hands. He didn't seem nervous at all. I'm not that nervous, either. Finally we could get off the train. I thought about who I could be allies with. That girl, Raz, looks like a hunter to me. I hunted every day for food anyway, so that was normal. I'll think about it. Jula from 7 was a little bit taller than me. She looked like a cutter, and a good one, too. Maybe.... But Riku might not be so bad.
We started ttrain, finally. I ran straight for the bows, my strong suit, although I couldv'e picked anything else and done well. Beside me I heard a group of girls were laughing beside me. They were allies, I bet. I walked over to Riku. He was at the rock climbing station. He's pretty good... I thought. I walked back and loaded my bow. I aimed for the target all the way across the room. For you, Wes.. Bullseye. Just what I was aiming for. The group of girls noted me and went back to their conversation. I saw that girl Jula. Maybe she could be a good ally. I'd have to check out her skills first, though. I'd help her... I know I need to win for Westan, and I can't forget that. I wouldn't use her - I'm not that mean. I won't kill her either. I'd never ever kill an ally... I set my bow down and studied everyone. "I miss you Wes... I miss you.." I kept mumbling. "Don't cry..if I die....please..." I knew mumbling wouldnt help. It was time to practice. For real.

Sterling's POV
The boy from my district, Riku I think was his name, seemed pretty calm to me. I was going to find out soon. I hadn't noticed him come up to the stage until we had to shake hands. He didn't seem nervous at all. I'm not that nervous, either. Finally we could get off the train. I thought about who I could be allies with. That girl, Raz, looks like a hunter to me. I hunted every day for food anyway, so that was normal. I'll think about it. Jula from 7 was a little bit taller than me. She looked like a cutter, and a good one, too. Maybe.... But Riku might not be so bad.

Willow's POV
At the reaping i stood uncomfortly in my itchy reaping clothes. A white blouse and a light blue shirt. My light brown hair hung loosly in two braids tied off with a white long peice of fabric. Standing near the back of the line i could barely see the escort walk across the stage from between the heads. What i did notice was that she was wearing bright yellow clothing and her wig a matching color. I didn't understand how she could walk 20 feet with her heels that tall, they were at least 12 inches. She started her opening speech and did the famous.
"Ladies first" Walking perfectly balanced over to the girls bowl and reaching in digging her hand in picking one slip of paper. "And our female tribute is" she paused walking over to the podium and opening the creame colored paper "Willow Sands" Time stoped for me, i couldn't believe it, i was falling off of a 100 story building. A peacekeeper came up behind me and started pushing me toward the stage. Will was screaming my mother was crying and my father i could tell he was crying too just not sobbing out loud. I didn't hear the boys name (because there is no one yet i'll just call him Dane). But a boy about 15 years old walked up to the stage, i saw a girl from my class Emily sobbing this must have been her brother. So that meant he was Dane.
"And our district 5 tributes are Dane Song and Willow Sands"

Novle's POV:
"Ok, can I just call you Madonna? You just look like one." I asked on the train. She sighed. "Ok. You may call me Madonna." I smiled. I really could get away with anything. The next day, we went to the traning room. "SWEET AWESOMENESS!" I yelled. Everybody looked at me. I got embarresed and ducked behind one of those dumbies that you shoot arrows at. Somebody shot one and it tummbled down on me. "Sorry, my bad." I said. I rememberd that Madonna had said to immeadietly look for allies. What did she expect me to do? Yell does anybody want to be my allie? Kill them with kindness? Maybe I should just make a sword name it kindness then kill them with it. That was actually not a bad idea. Anyways, I chose to try and impress people. I couldn't really do anything in the room, so I took out that that thousand year old thing called an ipod, turned it on to my favorite song, and just started dancing. But everybody looked at me as if I was the stupidest person to walk the earth. Which i kinda was. So I chose to get to work. I started with the archery. I shot an arrow and it landed strait in the middle. Ok, not exactly, but pretty close. I tried again and I then hit it in the middle. But nobody was looking. This was going to be a long day.
