The 6th Grade Hunger Games!!! - a story
This is a story about everyone in my grade (fake names) going to the future and ending up in the 76th annual Hunger Games. There is 31 of us, so the plot will be a little off, but who cares? Prologue: The Time Machine Timothy called President Snow on his phone. He had just finished the time machine. “It’s finished,” he said. “The Peacekeepers are at the ready. Ok. So I send them? All right.” Timothy hangs up and tells the Peacekeepers it’s time to go. The Peacekeepers jump into the portal one by one. Sorry it’s so short, I’ve wrote it about 7 times, so I got a little impatient… -Jimmy

The 6th Grade Hunger Games!!! - a story
Chapter 1|The Train
My class was fuming. Hi. I'm Jimmy Tangles. My class and I lost recess for an unknown reason. We are walking up the stairs. Wait. Let me back up. I wanna explain some of my friends.
Bobby has been my friend since the first day of Preschool. He was my best friend for a really long time, but... Let's just say he's beenlying a lot lately and he's kinda fading.
Marco, Albert, and Louis are my more recent bffs. Those three are losers, just like me. I'm sort of the fine line between weird and cool, but still, some people only talk to me for answers, homework, etc. Marco has been my friend since kindergarden. Albert... well... I always tell Bobby I don't like Albert, but I really do. That's sort of like a REVENGE lie. Albert is the biggest loser in the class. Louis is my best friend by far. He's the nicest, he doesn't sware, and I just like him a lot. Everyone hates him too, but he's actually pretty cool. He's the only one who's ever shot a gun, held a bow and arrow, etc. He plays paintball with his brother in the woods.
Anyways, we are halfway up the stairs when the portal appears. 31 men dressed in white pop out and begin to grab us. Since there's 31 of us and 31 of them, there's one for each of us.
"Where are you taking us?" Joey asks. I hate Joey. He's the most popular boy in my class. He's one of the examples of kids who pretend to like me so they can take advantage of me. Plus, they think because I'm so small, I can't stand up for myself. I've thought about it, but it would get me a black eye. But the thing I hate most about Joey is that he is loved by my crush, Lilac.
"We are going to Panem, the country that will replace you in the future," he says. "We are Peacekeepers. For those of you who don't know, you will be in the 76th Hunger Games."
Pretty much everyone has read or have heard of the Hunger Games, so they begin to panic. I wrestle the grip of my Peacekeeper, but he pokes me with a knife and I stop. People begin to disappear into the portal. Now everyone was panicking. My heart pounded harder and harder. Whatever I did now would end up with me being dead... These thoughts filled my head as I slipped into the portal...

I wake up on a train. The Hunger Games train. I'm going to the Capitol!
I get out of bed, still wearing my school uniform. I open the drawer and find it full of clothes... my clothes! I take off the yellow collared shirt and the black cackies (sp?) and pull on my Angry Birds shirt and sweatpants. I take off my black socks, replace them with white, and step into my Zigs. I'm one of the only boys in my class who doesn't care about shoes. It's weird.
"Hey man, like my new $200 shoes?"
"$200? That's a RIPOFF!"
"But they're the new Jordans!"
"Who cares? THEY'RE SHOES! YOU STEP ON THEM AND MAKE THEM SMELL BAD!!!"
All of a sudden, the door to my car opens. Sally peeks in.
"Our mentor, Haymitch, wants you," she says. She mutters something about not understanding any of this. Sally is about the same hieght (sp?) as me. That means she's short. I mean 4' 9" at 12 years old. She has brown hair that goes below her shoulders. She is still wearing her school unform, which has a sort of plaid skirt, starps going over her shoulders, a tie, and a collared shirt.
"I can't believe you slept the entire ride!" Haymitch says as I walk in. "There's no time for mentoring because we are arriving at the Capitol. See look!"
I look at the brilliant buildings ahead and smile. What a beautiful place to die.
Chapter 2 and MAYBE 3 will be in the next post. Chapter 2 is about my outfit and 3 is about the parade.

Chapter 2| Playing Dress-Up
As soon as we get to the Capitol, I'm sent to my Prep Team. They begin to strip me of every hair on my body. I don't understand this because a.) I'm a boy, so body hair is normal and b.) I'm blonde, so the hair would blend in. They clip my nails, cut my hair.
"Hey, that cowlick is how people remember me!" I cry, when they try to clip off the cowlick on my head. Without gel or water, it still sticks up. Even when we try to get rid of it, it pops back up.
I'm sent into my stylist, Fiona. She is sitting next to Sally's stylist, Harold.
"What is your favorite district?" asks Harold. Sally seems confused.
"11," I say.
"Good!" says Fiona as Sally and Harold walk out. "11 is not taken. Here is your outfit."
She holds up a tree covered in fruit. I almost crack up until I see she's serious.
"Ummm..." I begin. "Is Sally wearing this too?"
"No, Sally will be wearing a full body suit covered in veggies," she replies. "Go try it on!"
I walk out, stifling laughter. I'm not going to get any sponsors in this suit.
Chapter 3| The Parade
I love parades. Once, I was in a parade for my town. It was awesome. But this, this is going to be so embarassing, any thoughts of surviving in the arena are probably being smashed right here. I can see in the corner of my eye my classmates laughing.
Then, the car that is supposed to represent District 1 leaves. 2, 3, 4. Louis and Albert are in five, next to Anna, another girl. They look like they are electric. 6,7,8,9, Bobby is in 10, then we leave.
I see everyone's eyes go to us. The crowd laughs so hard, it sounds like a lion roaring into a giant megaphone. Marco is in 12 with Sarah, the tough girl/tomboy who Bobby dated in 5th grade.
Sarah was a 'player' as some people say. Bobby was one of 5 boys Sarah dated, along with Andy, one of Bobby's other friends. Sarah and Andy actually KISSED.
Anyways, Marco points at me, laughing, teasing. I give him a fake disappointment face and shake my head. The crowd can't take their eyes off of Sally and I.
"I shouldn't have chose District 11," I say. "It's just, I liked Rue and Thresh. They were the contestants from 11."
"Jimmy, it's fine!" she says. The chariot jolts to a stop. Finally, it's over.

The 6th Grade Hunger Games!!! - a story
Chapter 4|Training
he elevator speeds down to the Training Center. I decide to try climbing first. The monkey bars are pretty hard, and I get halfway before collapsing to the ground. My back screams in pain. Joey walks over.
"Hey, Jimmy!" he says loud enough for everyone to hear. "Nice costume at the parade!"
Then he leaves me writhing in pain on the floor.
The next days of training go the same.
Finally, we have the private session. I'm so nervous. First I try to show them how I throw spears, but I get freaked out. I try everything. I fail at everything.
What am I getting for a score?
The entire class gathers around the TV. Sally gets a 5. Louis gets an 11. Marco gets a 6. Albert gets a 4. Bobby gets an 8. Joey gets a 12 (no surprise).
I get... a... 2. There is laughter, oohs, ahs, and so many other ways to mock me. I can't take it anymore. I look at Lilac, my crush. She is laughing, too. That's when I run into my room.
I don't care if they call me back anymore. I slam the door and throw myself down. Hating the Gamemakers, Fiona, Joey, me.
Bobby opens the door.
"Dude, are you ok?" he asks.
"What do you think?" I cry. "The first day of training, I injure myself, and Joey comes over to make fun of my costume. I was so nervous in front of the Gamemakers... let's just say I'm surprised I didn't get a 1. How am I supposed to get sponsers, now?"
"Team up with me," Bobby says. "We'll get so many sponsers. I promise. You and I."
"All right," I say. "It's a deal.
Chapter 5The Interview
My last shot to get it right. I go first.
"What did you think of your costume?" Ceasar Flickerman asks.
"Oh, I hated it," I say. "But, my stylist seemed so set on it, I had to take it."
The crowd laughs. I give a playful chuckle. If this keeps up, I could actually play the cool kid and get some sponsers!
"Yes, I know," Ceasar says. "I hate when your stylist chooses something you don't like but you have to wear it. I made a fool of myself in the 31st Hunger Games. Oops, I just gave you all a clue to my age!"
I give a small smile that only shows on the left corner of my mouth and shake my head.
"So, I heard there was a little stewing during Training," Ceasar says. I nod.
"Yeah," I say, shooting a sly look at Joey. "One of my... friends... was making fun of my costume!"
I put on a face that looks hurt. I put emphasis on the word friend to show I know about Joey's tricks.
"Hold on," Ceasar says. "How do you get that cowlick to swirl like that?"
"Oh I was born that way," I say, now with a smile. The camera zooms in on my brilliant hair.
"Well, that's all we have time for," Ceasar says. "When we come back, we will hear Joey's side of this feud!"
When we go back up, Joey purposely takes the same elevator as me. He closes the doors before anyone else can come in. He pins me against the wall.
"You are SO dead in the arena," he says. I struggle to move, but he has an iron grip. He kicks me to signal not to move. "I'm gonna kill you!"
He throws me to the ground and kicks me again. I groan in pain as he gets out on his floor. I get up and run into my room once again, this time SURE I'm doomed.
I can't sleep. Everything comes back to me... the laughing Capitol crowd, Training, the Private Session, and the scene in the elevator. I'm dead.

Chapter 6|The Bloodbath
The hovercraft take Fiona and I below the arena.
"Fiona, I'm sorry," I say. "I acted like a jerk at the interview and probably ruined you. I just needed sponsers."
"It's ok," she says. "I agree, that costume was awful. What was I thinking?"
Suddenly, the tube that takes the contestants moves down a little. I run underneath it. It encloses around me. That's when I freak out. I kick the walls I scream. But it's too late. The tube sends me up through the ground. I stand on my plate.
"Attention contestants!" says Ceasar Flickerman. "Please wait 60 seconds after I say my line. When the gong rings, you may go. If you go before the gong rings, mines will blow you to bits! Now, without further ado, LET THE 76TH HUNGER GAMES BEGIN!"
I see Anna and Carol nod at each other.
Anna and Carol are nice. They are really good friends of Marco, Louis, Albert and I. Carol and Albert have a little something going on, but Albert said he actually likes a different girl. Her name is Elise. Carol mouths the words one two three.
At that moment, Carol and Anna jump from their plates. As soon as their feet touch the ground, they are blasted into the air.
BANG! BANG! Two cannon shots. Two down, twenty-nine left.
"NOOOO!" Albert screams. He tries to jump off his plate,but it's too late. The gong rung seconds after Anna and Carol's death.
I charge away from the Cornucopia, grabbing Albert, who was staring in horror at his friends' gruesome remains. I turn back for one moment and look in horror at what is happening.
Louis, who was hung up on grabbing a bow and arrow, didn't notice the person coming on strong.
Albert screams. "LOUIS LOOK OUT!"
Louis fires an arrow straight into his attacker's heart. The cannon rings out as Albert pulls me away. Louis has just shot Bobby.
We run into the woods, turning away from an possible battles. Then we realize: Louis and Marco could be dead at the bloodbath. We run all the way back. Yes, we are making an alliance with them. We run towards the Cornucopia. The clearing is emtpy except for five people (obviously the Careers) and about nine dead bodies. The Career alliance includes Joey, Ryan (he's sort of friendly with me, although I'm not sure it's real), Shannon (another strong girl), Sarah, and Dexter (he's the smallest boy in the class, but he's tough).
The dead people are Anna, Carol, Bobby, Molly, Hannah, Danthi, Katie, Emily, and Sally.
"Not Sally!" I whisper. Molly and Hannah are dumb. Danthi... he's... odd. He makes weird, racist jokes about HIMSELF. Once, at gym, he touched someone PUKE! Katie plays dumb. She's not smart, but she's not dumb either. Emily is one of the top three smartest kids in my grade, along with Lilac and I. She is friends with Elise and Katie. You already know Sally.
I hated Danthi. The kids like him more than me. They only liked him because he was 'funny.'
Then we spot Louis. He's on the other side of the clearing with Marco.
All of a sudden, Dexter speaks. "I think they're all gone," he says. "Let's go kill a couple more tributes. Then we'll come back and clean up."
As they walk away, he winks at us.
We run across the clearing. The four of us meet at the Cornucopia.
"Let's trick them and take all the stuff inside," Louis says, nodding at the Cornucopia. We climb up it. When we reach the top, we peer inside. Weapons, tents, and so much more scatter the Cornucopia. Louis and I jump in, passing everything to Marco and Albert. We get a tent and a dozen knives when we hear a voice.
"Should we send someone back to guard?" it's Sarah. Shannon reappears. As soon as she sees us, she screams for help.
The other four are there in seconds.
"DID ANYONE KNOW THEY WERE THERE?" Ryan roars. Albert points at Dexter.
"ALBERT!" all three of us scream as they turn on him. We jump from the Cornucopia and run from the scene. I look back to see Dexter falling to the ground. Dexter died for us.
Chapter 7|Faces in the Sky
Cannon shot. Dexter gone. Sally gone. Bobby gone. My head is spinning, wondering who's next. We haven't stopped running yet. There are twenty-one of us left. It seems like there should be about two left.
The Careers are no where in sight. I tell my friends we should set up camp here. As soon as we're down pitching in the tent, we hear two screams and a cannon shot. One death. Either they fought each other, or one of them fled. Then we hear music playing. We look up at the sky.
Anna's face appears. Then Carol's. Bobby. Molly. Hannah. Danthi. Katie. Emily. Sally. Dexter. Finally comes Rachel. Rachel is the most popular girl in our class. I wish I could see Bobby again. No such luck. His body has probably already been taken away. I put my head in my hands and start to cry. My friends pat me on the back. I tell them I'll keep watch for an hour.

Chapter 8|Temporary Alliances
I wake up with Nicola sitting on me. Nicola is one of Lilac's best friends. She is short, like me- WAIT! WHAT IS NICOLA DOING ON TOP OF ME?
I kick her off of me. I grab Louis's bow and arrow and aim-
"NICOLA!" Lilac screams. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO SCARE THEM!"
Now the others are up. At that moment, Andy and Dewey come flying into the clearing. Dewey is crurently dating Sarah. He is the perosn who can make me angry fastest. He is... self-centered, short of humility. I hate him.
"DON'T MOVE!" Dewey yelled, pointing a trident at Lilac. I aim the bow and arrow for him this time. Marco jumps between us before there can be a fight.
"Listen to us!" Nicola says. "Hear us out! We want to make a temporary alliance to knock off a few tributes."
"Let's go for the Careers," I say. The people who haven't read the books stare at me. "Ryan, Joey, Sarah, and Shannon."
They nod in agreement. We head to the Cornucopia. There's no one there and the Cornucopia is empty. Then we notice a cave. There are rocks neatly stacked in front of it - the Careers must be hiding there.
We move a few rocks and crawl in. It leads to a tunnel. We run through the tunnel. At the end, there is a beautiful valley. There's a waterfall, a lake, and a pile of stuff. There is also a cliff. The pile is definentely the Career's stash of supplies. We climb down the edge of the cliff. Joey sits with his back turned to us, watching the supplies.
Louis notches an arrow and aims for Joey's head. I push it down.
"Let's get closer," I whisper. I run at Joey, using my soft feet to my advantage. I raise a knife and I'm about to stab when a strong hand grabs me. It's Ryan.
I turn to see Ryan raising a club, Shannon a dagger, and Sarah a sword. The others run at them. Within seconds, an epic fight has broken out. Just as I'm about to be killed, the ground shakes. We all look to see an avalanche starting.
All 12 of us make an epic dash for cover. Andy and Sarah are now trapped under a rock. Dewey looks back. He has to make the choice of his life. Who will he save - his girlfriend or his best friend?
He tries to lift the rock. He rolls it just enough so that his two friends can escape. Sarah holds her hand in pain. Andy limps for his life. Dewey follows too late. At that moment, a rock crushes him. His head just shows as he slips away. The cannon shot is barely audible. The hovercraft grabs Dewey out from under the rock.
We are almost to another cave - and safety - when we realize the entire cliff is falling down on us.
Lilac and Nicola are just ahead of me. Nicola looks up to see a huge boulder about to hit us. She shoves us to the side and gets crushed by the rock. I pull Lilac to safety just in time. 18 tributes are left. I actually have a shot.

Chapter 9|Back to the Valley... Maybe
After the avalanche ends, things change. The valley is destroyed, the lake is blocked off. The cliff is now just a steep slope. The only thing safe is the Careers supplies. Then we realize something: we are enemies!
All ten of us make a sprint for the tunnel. The Careers are only trying to chase us away. We run for the tunnel that took us here. Twenty yeards away. Ten.
We enter the tunnel and keep running. As soon as we get out, Sarah screams to her fellow Careers.
"GUARD THE TUNNEL!" she orders. They chase us out of the clearing.
Lilac goes one direction, Andy another. We take another path back to our camp.
Thorns cut up my legs. Branches snap into my face.
The sun sets as the anthem begins. I see Dewey's face enlarged in the sky. I shake my head as he disappears. Then comes Nicola. She has that look. The look she has is distant, almost dazed. She appears to be looking at something beyond us.
The anthem plays again. Suddenly, I see something out of the corner of my eye. Dolly. Dolly is one of the smarter girls in our class. Her glasses are gone. Her black hair flows below her shoulders. It is messed up from sleeping on the ground. She has a golden spear at her side.
Then Louis raises his bow and arrow.
"NO!" Dolly screams, running backwards. But it's too late. Louis has fired. Dolly falls backwards as the arrow flys into her chest. I run and grab the spear. At the next moment, the cannon fires. 17 tributes left. Dolly is dead.
We decide to go back to the valley and rob the Careers of their supplies. Marco and Albert will stay behind. Louis and I run to the Cornucopia. They are still there. Sarah, who was on guard duty, fell asleep.
"I hope she's not a screamer," I say, walking over to her. I raise my new spear and stab it down- I fall to the ground, my head throbbing. Something has hit me! I turn around to see Ryan.
I slowly put the pieces together. Ryan, who was one of Sarah's many boyfriends, stopped me from murdering her. I hope I don't have a concussion.
"DON'T HIT HIM AGAIN OR THE GIRL DIES!" screams a voice. I can't fiugre out who it is... I SHOULD KNOW THIS ONE... It was Louis!
Louis aims the bow and arrow. Then I see Joey. He's running at Louis.
"Louis... run!" I murmur. Louis climbs the Cornucoia, followed by Ryan and Joey. Louis pushs Ryan in. Louis aims at Sarah again. This time, Joey grabs the bow and arrow. They fight for it. Then, Shannon is there. She shoves Louis into the Cornucopia. I follow them.
I hear a body slam against the Cornucopia. The sun, which has just risen, illuminates the battle. Louis and Ryan are having a big fight. Joey aims the bow as I reach the top.
"NO!" I scream, knocking the bow off its aim. Joey tumbles down the side of the Cornucopia, taking Shannon with him. The arrow bounces off the inside of the Cornucopia. Ryan and Louis run for it. Ryan tackles Louis and grabs the arrow. I watch in horror as Ryan raises the arrow.
The next seconds move in slow motion. Ryan plunges the arrow down into Louis's stomach. Louis screams in rage, horror and pain. The dark red liquid stains his shirt.
Louis is still fighting. Ryan pulls the arrow out and stabs Louis again, this time in the head. The cannon immeadiately fires.
The mockingjays stop singing and the hovercraft appears, lifting my best friends dead body into the sky. Sarah is there now. I turn around. I need to finish what Louis began. I stab the spear into her chest. I pull it out and shove her off the Cornucopia.
The remaining three Careers surround me. I punch Louis's murderer and make a run for it.
My head throbs. Tears flow from my eyes. My best friend is gone.
After the avalanche ends, things change. The valley is destroyed, the lake is blocked off. The cliff is now just a steep slope. The only thing safe is the Careers supplies. Then we realize something: we are enemies!
All ten of us make a sprint for the tunnel. The Careers are only trying to chase us away. We run for the tunnel that took us here. Twenty yeards away. Ten.
We enter the tunnel and keep running. As soon as we get out, Sarah screams to her fellow Careers.
"GUARD THE TUNNEL!" she orders. They chase us out of the clearing.
Lilac goes one direction, Andy another. We take another path back to our camp.
Thorns cut up my legs. Branches snap into my face.
The sun sets as the anthem begins. I see Dewey's face enlarged in the sky. I shake my head as he disappears. Then comes Nicola. She has that look. The look she has is distant, almost dazed. She appears to be looking at something beyond us.
The anthem plays again. Suddenly, I see something out of the corner of my eye. Dolly. Dolly is one of the smarter girls in our class. Her glasses are gone. Her black hair flows below her shoulders. It is messed up from sleeping on the ground. She has a golden spear at her side.
Then Louis raises his bow and arrow.
"NO!" Dolly screams, running backwards. But it's too late. Louis has fired. Dolly falls backwards as the arrow flys into her chest. I run and grab the spear. At the next moment, the cannon fires. 17 tributes left. Dolly is dead.
We decide to go back to the valley and rob the Careers of their supplies. Marco and Albert will stay behind. Louis and I run to the Cornucopia. They are still there. Sarah, who was on guard duty, fell asleep.
"I hope she's not a screamer," I say, walking over to her. I raise my new spear and stab it down- I fall to the ground, my head throbbing. Something has hit me! I turn around to see Ryan.
I slowly put the pieces together. Ryan, who was one of Sarah's many boyfriends, stopped me from murdering her. I hope I don't have a concussion.
"DON'T HIT HIM AGAIN OR THE GIRL DIES!" screams a voice. I can't fiugre out who it is... I SHOULD KNOW THIS ONE... It was Louis!
Louis aims the bow and arrow. Then I see Joey. He's running at Louis.
"Louis... run!" I murmur. Louis climbs the Cornucoia, followed by Ryan and Joey. Louis pushs Ryan in. Louis aims at Sarah again. This time, Joey grabs the bow and arrow. They fight for it. Then, Shannon is there. She shoves Louis into the Cornucopia. I follow them.
I hear a body slam against the Cornucopia. The sun, which has just risen, illuminates the battle. Louis and Ryan are having a big fight. Joey aims the bow as I reach the top.
"NO!" I scream, knocking the bow off its aim. Joey tumbles down the side of the Cornucopia, taking Shannon with him. The arrow bounces off the inside of the Cornucopia. Ryan and Louis run for it. Ryan tackles Louis and grabs the arrow. I watch in horror as Ryan raises the arrow.
The next seconds move in slow motion. Ryan plunges the arrow down into Louis's stomach. Louis screams in rage, horror and pain. The dark red liquid stains his shirt.
Louis is still fighting. Ryan pulls the arrow out and stabs Louis again, this time in the head. The cannon immeadiately fires.

The 6th Grade Hunger Games!!! - a story
Chapter 10|The Shocking Quake
I run as fast as I can. The world spins, though I can't tell whether it's from Ryan's club or Louis's death. Louis is dead. The words ring in my head. I can't belive this awful thing has happened. I will never see him again. Suddenly, I hear rustling in the bushes. I turn around to see a figure - not a big one - slam into me.
The person jams a vial of something sweet into my mouth. I realize what this is and who is attacking me just before I fall into a deep sleep.
I wake up and try to stretch, but my hands don't move. I look down and realize I'm tied up in a tree. Elise sits in front of me, watching me.
"Elise!" I yell. "Let me down!"
"Why should I?" she says.
"I'm no foe," I say. "I know we've always been enemies, but the true enemies are Joey, Ryan, and Shannon."
Elise narrows her eyes. Then she grabs a dagger and cuts through the ropes. "So, who's died while I've been asleep?" I say. "And how'd you get all those supplies? No offense, but you're not the person I'd expect to survive the bloodbath."
"Frannie was killed by Jayden," she says. Jayden is my only other friend besides Bobby, Louis, Albert, and Marco. We used to joke around a lot in class. "And while everyone was staring in shock at Carol and Anna's stupidity, I hid in the Cornucopia."
"Great move!" I say. At that moment, we hear three bodies crashing through the woods. Elise and I jump up and make for it. Then the ground shakes. A hole splits open in the ground ahead. We're forced to stop.
"ALBERT!" I scream at the top of my lungs. "MARCO! HELP US!"
Joey takes aim at me with the bow and arrow when the ground shakes, causing his hand to move in Elise's direction. He lets the arrow fly. It flies straight into her chest.
"NO!" I scream as Albert and Marco come flying into the clearing, over the crack in the ground. The ground shakes again, this time making the Careers run away. Albert lays down next to his true love Elise, who is slowly slipping away.
"Elise..." he moans. "Don't go... I love you."
He goes to pull the arrow out of her chest and endher pain, but she pushes it away.
"No," she says. "I want this moment with you to last longer."
Albert leans over and gives Elise a quick kiss on the lips. "Thanks, Albert," she says as her eyes close. We watch her for a moment, and then a cannon shot makes us jump.
Albert screams into the sky.
"I HATE YOU!" he screams. "SHE WAS THE ONLY PERSON I EVER TRULY LOVED!"
Then the hovercraft takes her away. Then another cannon shot rings out. Thirteen tributes. We stay until nightfall. Then we watch Arnold and Elise's faces shine in the sky. I'm surprised Arnold wasn't with the Careers. He was really strong.
So, there's 13 tributes left. Two of them have teamed up with me. That means there's only ten people out to kill me. Victory is within reach. I hope it doesn't slip through my fingers. Then I realize, in the book, there was this many people left after the bloodbath. Wow.
Honestly, I almost cried writing about Elise. How'd you do reading about her? By the way, I hope this story isn't moving to fast. I think this is the only time someone's ever gotten this far in a Hunger Games story on this Message Board.
Chapter 11 has a HUGE shocker. You won't believe when you see it. Let's just say... there's one big betrayal (sp?).

The 6th Grade Hunger Games!!! - a story
At the end of Chapter Ten, I meant to say there was 12 tributes left. Sorry! I forgot about Frannie's death.
Chapter 11|Back to the Valley... FOR REAL!!!
I realize we still have to steal the Careers supplies. But I've caused too much trouble already, so I decide to go alone. Marco and Albert try to stop me, but I go anyways.
It's been two days since Elise died. No one else has died. Things are starting to slow down. At any moment, the Gamemakers could decide to kill someone. I begin to run back to the clearing. It's not long before I get there. I run into the cave.
When I get to the cliff above the valley, there is nothing left. Then I notice a trail of stuff leading down a trail on the edge of the cliff. I follow it for a while and then realize there is a pile of boulders blocking my way. The Careers made this, I'm sure of it.
I put my foot on one of the rocks to test it. The rock slips out and falls over the edge. I realize the only way to go is to climb across the side of the cliff. I lower myself onto the edge of the cliff and begin to climb.
My hands are sweaty and the rocks are slippery. I put my hand on one of them and slip. I'm dangling from one hand now. As my hand falls, another hand grabs me. It pulls me up.
"Having two people will make this easier," says Andy.
"So, you want a temporary alliance?" I say.
"Yeah," Andy says, shaking my hand. We keep climbing.
We finally find a place safe to climb onto. The pile of supplies is sitting on a ledge that juts out halfway across the lake, like a bridge. The Careers are sitting just above it, making a plan. We climb back onto the side of the cliff.
We climb down to the ledge where the supplies are. We each grab a backpack and stuff food into it. That's when I notice Dewey's trident. It's sitting at the top of the pile.
I tap Andy on the shoulder and point. He uses his newly obtained coil of rope to grab it. He pulls it down, but not before knocking loose another backpack.
The bag tumbles over the edge making a splash. The three Careers immediately look over the edge.
Andy throws his trident, but it falls short, stabbing into the rock. It makes a small crack. Joey aims at me, but Andy runs to the pile and starts throwing stuff over the edge.
"DON'T SHOOT OR THE WHOLE PILE GOES OVER!" Andy warns, kicking a bag of meat over the edge.
Joey doesn't care. He pulls the arrow back a little more and is about to let go when the crack Andy made begins to grow. I realize right then and there that the Gamemakers are trying to get Joey and I to the final two, adding to the suspense and drama. Joey and Shannon run, but Ryan is too late. The stone tumbles over the edge, hitting our ledge. Ryan tumbles off as our ledge cracks and breaks. I grab another rock butting out, but Andy has to jump. He grabs the stub of what remains of our ledge.
Shannon throws a knife at Andy's hand. Andy lets go and tumbles down. We were so high up that even if they hit the water, they would've died. A cannon shot fires for Ryan. A few seconds later, Andy's shot fires.
I climb onto the top of the cliff and run for it, not caring about the loose rock piles.
Meanwhile, Albert and Marco listen to the cannon shots.
"Ten left," Marco says. "About to be 9."
"How do you know?'' Albert asks. Then he realizes Marco, with an ax, is moving closer and closer. Then Marco tackles Albert. Marco brings the ax down when Albert stabs Marco with a knife.
Marco rolls over and cuts Albert's arm. They both begin screaming in agony.

The 6th Grade Hunger Games!!! - a story
Chapter 12|The Big Fight
The two of us have survived a few days. No one has died. Albert likes talking about the strategies and it takes his mind off the pain.
"So, I'm thinking we should take out the Careers first," Albert says. "Then we go for Jayden and Lilac. We take out Olive and Marcy. Then we kill Jacklyn, By then I should be dead, and you'll be the winner."
"Don't think like that," I say. Then I see something out of the corner of my eye and grab the ax. I throw it and I hear a body hit the ground.
"MISSED ME!" screams Olive, leaping in, now holding the ax. Olive is Ryan's ex-girlfriend.
We are locked in combat, me holding a dagger, her holding the ax. I hear two sets of footsteps coming towards me and I kick Olive. She falls to the ground and i turn just as Joey and Shannon fly into the clearing. I haul Albert out as Olive defends herself from her knees.
Marcy runs in, followed by Jacklyn. They are best friends. They are out of breath. They were clearly being chased. Who was chasing them, Lilac or Jayden?
The answer comes seconds later: Lilac.
Jayden is the only one not here... WAIT! There he is! I guard Albert as Marcy comes after me. I hear a scream of pain as Albert struggles to his feet. He screams again as he throws a knife at Marcy. She collapses to her knees as Olive charges at Jayden, defending Jacklyn. Next to come at me is Shannon. I see Joey's arrow fly into Olive. She falls down.
Marcy grabs my leg while I fight Shannon. I use the other foot to stomp on her throat. The cannon shot fires, followed by one for Olive. Joey aims at Jayden, who runs. Now there are only six of us fighting. Lilac and Jacklyn flee, leaving Joey, Shannon, Albert, and I. Joey fires at Albert but I grab Olive's abandoned ax and deflect the arrow.
I raise the ax and stab Shannon. Joey runs just as the cannon fires. Albert is clutching his arm again. The hovercraft carries Olive, Marcy, and Shannon away. There are six of us left: one half dead, one Career, one strong guy, my crush, me, and one other girl.
I collapse to my friends side and we stare at the sky until the three girl's faces appear. The final battle is looming. I think about who we can count out officially, but the only person I can count out is Albert, who sits next to me now. I put a bandage on his arm. He is slowly slipping away from me and I can't let him.

LOL I've played a game before (by myself) where I imagined if me and a whole bunch of kids I knew were abducted by aliens...It's very odd to try. And if you ever told the person, they'd probally be creeped out. LOL

Jimmy and his classmates have narrowly avoided the Capitol's wrath.

The 6th Grade Hunger Games!!! - a story
Chapter 13|An Enemy Falls
It's been two days since the huge attack. There is still six of us. All of a sudden, Claudius Templesmith's voice rings out.
"Hello, final six contestants in the 76th Annual Hunger Games!" he says. "The Cornucopia has been restocked. Get there now!"
I look at Albert.
"Albert, I have to go to this," I say. "I can take out a few of the other four and get some supplies."
He nods weakly. His face is pale. I had put a bandage on the cut and it had finally stopped bleeding, but if it was given the slightest provokation (sp?) I think it would start again.
I grab my spear, an ax, a few knives, and stuff them in my bag. I run to the clearing where the now full Cornucopia stands. When I get there, I conceal the bag in a bush. No one is there yet. Wait, there's Joey, coming out of the horn with a bike and a bag, probably filled with weapons.
He starts to ride the bike. I spot Jacklyn coming up beside me.
"Team up to kill him?" she asks. I nod. Joey aims the bow and arrow at us while using his elbows to control the bike. The two of us run out and as Joey is firing, Jacklyn throws a rock at the wheel, knocking it sideways, tipping the bike. Jacklyn grabs the bow and arrow but trips before she can send it flying into Joey. The arrow flies into my hand. My heart starts pounding. The only way the Gamemakers can stop me now is by blowing me to bits, and I don't think they want to do that.
I raise the arrow high and stab it down. This is what it looked like when Ryan killed Louis. Joey screams in rage and pain. I rip the arrow out of his throat and am about to run when Jacklyn stops me. She hands me the sheath and the bow.
"This was Louis's, right?" she asks.
"Yeah," I say.
"Then it's yours," she says. With that, she runs off. Lilac appears and I aim at her, but I can't pull myself to do it. I love her. I shake my head and run off.
The cannon blast fires a few seconds later. Joey is dead.

Chapter 14|Explosions
Three days after Joey's death, all five of us are still alive. Albert is slowly slipping, but he might make it long enough to survive the Games. The scene of Marco's death comes to mind. At that moment, I hear a huge boom.
"What was that?" Albert whispers.
"Cannon shot, probably," I say. "Who do you think it was?"
Albert barely has time to shrug before three more ring out. Now I'm confused. If there's been four cannon shots, shouldn't there be a winner by now? Then another one rings out. And another. And another.
KABBBBBBOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! Right next to us. We go flying. These aren't cannon blasts. THESE ARE EXPLOSIONS!
More explosions ring out. Now we can see them. They're getting closer and closer. The first one was a warning, the next three tried to get the others moving. Now they're trying to move us. The explosions are getting closer by the moment.
"ALBERT, COME ON!" I scream over the explosions.
"NO!" he cries. "I CAN'T! GO WITHOUT ME."
I grab his arm and pull him to his feet. He screams in pain, but he begins to run.
We're side by side for a while, but then Albert staggers. His eyes appear vacant. He falls to the ground, barely conscious. Then the explosion wakes him up fully.
He goes flying, a branch opening up the cut on his arm. He falls to the ground and starts screaming in pain, clutching his arm.
"SHOOT ME!" he screams. "PLEASE JUST SHOOT ME!"
I need him to die with what he wants. I pull the arrow back, tears filling my eyes, and let it fly.
The arrow flies into his heart. The explosions stop so that we can hear Albert's cannon shot. Then they start again. But this time, they go slower. I realize now that they are eliminating us one by one.
Where are they pushing us?
Who will die next?

Chapter 15|Epic Eruption
The mountain stands in front of me. It's huge. But not too huge that the four of us can't climb it. The explosions still ring out, but then they stop. I turn around to run back to where Albert died, but an explosion stops me. I get the message and begin to climb.
It takes me a little while, but I eventually get to the top. The mountain is actually a volcano. Lilac, Jayden, and Jacklyn are already here. Jayden now has a spear, Lilac a trident, and Jacklyn a sword. We all stand ready to attack, but none of us do. At that moment, that top of the volcano taht we are standing on tilts downward. We all slip and fall.
I cling to rocks. We're slowly sliding, closer and closer to the edge. I let go just long enough to throw my sheath and bow up to the top then grab on. A little weight off helps, so the others follow my example. We slow down, just enough to climb back to the top.
We each grab the closest weapon. I have Lilac's trident, Jacklyn has the bow and arrow, Jayden the spear, and Lilac has the sword. The part of the volcano we were on moments ago collapses into the lava.
Jacklyn aims at me, but I deflect it with the trident.
"NOT SO FAST!" I scream, aiming the trident at her. Then Jayden throws the spear at Lilac, who ducks. Now weaponless, Jayden uses brute strength. He punches Jacklyn, who drops her weapon.
I guess this gave the Gamemakers an idea, because they shake the ground so hard, Lilac and I both drop our weapons.
Jayden is starting to go insane, now. He's been in this arena too long. He's charging at us, throwing rocks, punching, kicking, screaming, and tackling. Lilac, Jacklyn, and I look at each other and realize we have to kill Jayden or none of us is coming out of this volcano except for him. We charge, but Lilac
gets a rock to the head and falls to the ground, holding her head. My head pulses when I think of my definite concussion from Ryan.
Jacklyn gets kicked in the chest and she falls.
Now it's one of the weakest in the grade against one of the toughest. I dodge his punches, which he's definently going all out with. I kick him in the shin and he trips. As he struggles to his feet, I shove him. He tumbles to the edge of the cliff and grabs on for dear life. I see the look in his eyes turn from deranged to terrified. I'm about to save him when Lilac shoves me out of the way and steps on his hand. He collapses in and a cannon fires.
Lilac is about to shove me in when the ground shakes and the lava rises. The three of us run, grabbing our weapons, just as the volcano erupts.
I've heard lava can travel about 30 miles per hour. It sounds slow, but it's really not when you're trying to run from it. The lava is zooming down, slowly gaining on us. I'm not fast, but I've got good stamina and can run long distances. That's the only advantage I have. This lava could harden, but I don't think the Gamemakers want the lava to stop.
We get to a ledge and I jump. It hurts my feet and ankles, but it gives us about twenty yards on the lava when we were 1 yard from getting fried. I scour the mountain for more ledges. I find a couple and soon I'm fifty yards ahead of the lava.
But, I'm slowing down. I turn around and see Lilac's still behind me. Jacklyn is ahead of me. We reach the bottom of the volcano and keep running, even though the lava hardened. I turn back and realize: there's only three tributes left. I might make it out of here alive.
I'm sorry, but I'm only accepting the four people who already asked me to be in book 2. The next 2 chapters are the two-part finale to the Games, then we go into all the winning stuff. So, the final three battle it out and both the others die. I've already started planning book 2 and it's gonna be AWESOME. I CAN'T WAIT TO WRITE IT!!!
