I went at two oclock to the annual reaping. it is a dreaded day for all in district five. we all walk up into the square. i see the woman up at the glass holding our names. my family has what we need. so i dont have my name in but twice. since i am only thirteen years old. she draws the first name but i dont here it because of all the comostion going on. but she must of because she walked up on stage. she reaches her hand in the bowl that has my name in it. she makes it dramaticaly slo. which makes us all nerves and excited. then she pulls out the piece of paper and reads. kris mellark. since peeta mellark was my grandpa. but over time we got moved to district five. i slowly walk up on stage. i have to admit im scared. but i am also excited. i see my grandpa peeta standing right outside the square. his face drained because he didnt want me to have to go through the hunger games. my fellow tribute and me are lead through the doors by the woman who drew the names and our mentor eliana.now we have to prepair for the hunger games.

It Is the HUNGER GAMES! *crowd goes crazy*
Ok this is Rose's POV.
I squinted as the light from the rising sun came through the windows. As I was waking my self up, I looked around at the small room I shared with my four sisters, Tessie who was just around a year and a half old, Katherine or Kathy and Jessie who were both seven, twins, and Christine who shared a bed with me. Then the thought struck me, its the reaping day. I snuck out of bed without waking Chris, and went to stoke the fire. Normally, Dad and Adam would be waking up in just a few minutes to get ready to head to the power plant. My dad, Mark is 42. And Adam, my brother, is 20. I moved over to the old cook stove to start making breakfast, I decided to make it extra special today to make everyone else feel a little less scared. Chris and I stayed home and took care of the house and we also did the wealthier peoples laundry and baking to bring in a little bit of extra income. But today was different, today was the reaping. Only Matt, Chris, and I were in it this year. But that was plenty, Chris had her name in the drawing fourty times. I had it in thirty-five times, and Matt had it in only once he was twelve. We had forbidden the rest of the kids to take out ---- on. Well Matt was the only one old enough to do that but the others knew that we could survive without doing it. I was truely scared for Chris. It was her last year, and I could only pray that they wouldn't take her.
"Wosie?" I looked up, thinking to myself, good thing I am going to be busy today so I can take my mind off of the reaping. Mikey was looking up at me, he was my three year old little brother, and the sweetest thing alive.
"Yes sugar? What do you need?" I asked him. Forcing a smile, knowing that if I looked scared that everyone else would be scared.
"I'm hungry!"
"Well dear, breakfast is cooking right now. I have to run to the market really quick to grab some milk, so lets go get Chris up so she can watch you."
"Actually I'm already up," Chris stated as she walked into the room. It always amazed me, how she could look simply beautiful in any situation. Even when she had bed head. All the kids had the same hair, a beautiful golden brown. But only Chris, Tessie and I had mothers blues eyes. Chris and I were about the same size and hight, honestly we could pass as twins. The whole family was always calling me the beauty of the family though, I just didn't see it.
"Ok, can you take care of stuff here for just a second? I have to run and pick up some milk."
"No problem! Though, you might wan't to get dressed..." She said, she looked like she was trying so very hard not to laugh. Mustering up as much dignity as I had left, I stated,"I was just going to do that," Which I actually managed to say with a strait face.
Walking back into the house I saw the faces of the whole family, not all of them dressed yet, sitting around the table. I felt a familiar stab of pain in my gut and I saw once again, my mother wasn't there. I repeated the same thing I had been doing for almost a year and a half, since Tessie was born, that Mother was never coming back, because Mother was dead. I put on a smile as I said, "Guess who has milk for everyone!" All the little ones clapped, and the older kids smiled. It was a rare treat. Tessie stood up in her seat and held out her hands for me to pick her up. I gave her a kiss and told her to 'sit down, because we are going to eat now'.When it was time to leave to go to the reaping, we had all the kids cleaned and dressed up in their best clothes. Chris put my hair up in a pretty braid that wrapped around my head and ended in kind of a messy bun. We both wore one of mothers dresses. Mine was a pretty yellow, that came down to mid-calf. And Chris' was a blue that brought out her eyes. Dad and Adam helped us herd all the kids to where they belonged. As I stood in the group of sixteen year olds, I saw Matt, glancing at me a look of complete terror in his eyes. I gave him a little smile to calm his nerves. And then I glanced over at Chris. She was biting her lip, but when I caught her eye she gave me a nervous smile. Then before I could do anything else, the announcer walked up, and my mouth dropped and my eyes grew huge. It was a new announcer than last year, her clothes, and goodness her hair! I look at Chris and she look as astonished as I did.
I mean we all knew Capitol people were weird with thier clothes and all, but this was overload. Her hair was in a big Afro[sp] but it was colored in rainbow stripes. Her skin was completely white, but she had cherry red cheeks. Her eyeliner was around an inch thick, and she had thick, bright, blue eyeshadow. And her dress, It nearly made me gag. It had a huge, stiff color that was came up right underneath her chin it wrapped around her whole neck to where she couldn't even move her head. The rest of the dress had layers apon layers of what looked like that plastic leather stuff that she had seen tributes wear in the parade. And the whole thing was the nastiest green I had ever seen! And to top it off, she was wearing the tallest shoes I had ever seen, they were at least eight inches high. I forced myself to look away from her and to see the other people that followed her in. There was the Mayor, and a few other people who I didn't know. Eliana Swords, she would be the tributes mentor, was sitting in a chair a little behind her. I hadn't really met her, but when I had seen her, she looked like she was really nice.
By the time I started listening to the announcer, I had missed her name. But I winced everytime she spoke because is was so high and squeaky.We listened to the boring speech and history and then, finally, the announcer squeaked really excitedly, "Ladies first, as always!" She tottered over to the bowl and took forever, apparently she was trying to be dramatic... but she just made it really borring. When she tottered back to the podium, she said, "The female tribute for district 5 is," Looking around the room as if it was a treat for someone to be chose, "Rose Wellington." I looked up at her in shock, then looked over at Chris. She was crying. And that was when I knew, I had to accept before she volunteered for me. I came out of the croud, my head held high. I saw my dad and Adam and the rest of the kids all crying. But I kept stony faced. Then the announcer drew the boys name, "Peeta Mellark" I saw a look of determination in the boys eyes. He came from the thirteen year old's group. Poor kid, I thought. Then the cerimony was over, and we were led away by the peacekeepers. It was time for the good byes.

I woke up and groaned,
It was Reaping day.
I got up and got ready for it; I brushed my curly red hair, got dressed in something fairly nice, ate breakfast, and left fot the Reaping with my family.
A little while after we got there, it began.
"It's time to draw a brave young lady and a brave young man to represent District Eight in this year's Hunger Games!!!!!" our escort exclaimed. "And let the odds be EVER in your favor!!!!!!"
She put her hand in the girls' bowl and dug around until she finally picked one and read it. "Our girl tribute will be Madison Gates!!!!!!"
I calmly walked up front so everyone could see me, despite the fact that I was DEFINATLY NOT calm!!!!!!!

After the boy tribute was chosen, we shook hands and then we were off to say our good-byes at the Justice Building.

Connor's POV (yes, I know that I'm on Madi's account):
I woke up with a moan. It wasn't because it was Reaping Day, it was just because I was tired, but I had to get up anyways. I was actually kind of excited for the Reaping, despite that this was my first year. I might even volenteer for somebody if I don't get chosen.
I got ready; I brushed my long curly blond hair, put on a long purple dress that matched purple eyes, put the finishing touches to my outfit, ate breakfast, and headed down to the District Six square with my mom and dad.
"Today we will choose one brave young woman and man to represent District Six in this year's Hunger Games!!!!!!!!" our escort yelled. "Ladies first!!!"
She put her hand in the bowl and grabbed a name out real quickly and read it out loud. "Connor Weather!!!!!!!!!"
Maybe I didn't have to volenteer.
I stepped up front with a slight smile on my lips. I really DID want this, and I will be just like the Careers, maybe even join them- or MAYBE even make my own Career pack, only I'd call them... call them... Well I don't know what I'd call them, but it'd be a good name. First I just have to find some good allies or whatever I'm going to call them.
"Shake hands now! Shake hands!" I heard our escort say, snapping me back to reality. They already chose the boy tribute.
We shook hands and then the escort led us to the Justice Building to say good-bye.

Helena's POV:
"Helena, I had to save Bran from dieing. I mean, he was really sick yesterday. You did the same for Serine!" Blake yelled at me. We were already on the train. After the reaping, once we said our good-byes, and we entered the train. We started argueing.
"I know Blake, you don't have to tell me twice. How about I let you kill the others, while I sit back and watch!" I screamed at him. I was about to walk out of the room, but he grabbed my arm.
"Helena, you're a Carreer, why are you acting like this?" he was really something. Stupid and unconsiderate something.
"I don't want to be a Carreer! You can count me out of that group!" I screamed my reply. His face turned cold. He led me to the coach. He turned on the T.V.
"Why don't we watch the other reapings," he said. Of course, our district was first. I bet Ceaser is going to ask why I was crying. Of all Hunger Games I've seen, none had cried. They all looked happy. I just broke that streak. District 2, a girl named Arianna. She looked nice, but was that just a cover? District 3 a girl named Angel, not the usual name I would get from 3. Grace and Christain looked threatening, another pair of Carreers. 5, we actually saw the mentor, Elizabeth Swords, was mentoring Rose and Kris. A girl named Connor, looked VERY happy to be going in the Games, not the usual vibe I get from six. A guy named Kyle was staring at the girl, Tasnie, it was like a she-looks-mad-but-cute kind of stare. Madison looked like she was not expecting it. Emily, 9, was just looked kind of calm, but scared. Katherine walked stiffly to the stage. Jaz and Tyson looked strong and feirce. Charter was looking Mad with a capitol M and so did Vanessa. While we watched, someone who looked like the Capitol a bit walked in.
"Hello, I am Mahin Capricornicus. Your stylist." She shook our hands, "you must be Helena and Blake." She was very nice. Her parents were also dead like mine.
"So, I have to ask. Are you two a "couple"?" I almost exploded. But Blake piped up.
"Yes, but no. You see, nobody knows. We have kept it a secret for years."
"Blake!"
"What?"
"You just told our secret!"
"Oh," he smiled. I punched him playfully.

Jaz's POV:
"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" My little 11 year old sister,Nicole, yelled in my face. I opened my eyes to morning sunshine. "Here are your clothes. Get dressed," my mom said and she laid a teal blue dress on my bed when I got up. I was hoping it wouldn't be itchy. When I put it on it wasn't itchy. I looked in the mirror. The dress was sleeveless and went right down to my knees. "You look nice," my other 11 year old sister,Sam, said as she poked her head in. "You look good too," I said looking at her lavender dress that almost touched the floor and had short sleeves. "Hurry up!" my mother yelled up the stairs,"We'll be late for the reaping." My mom put my blond hair up in a ponytail and we headed out the door. Nicole had a yellow sundress that looked great on her. My name was in the reaping ball 53 times. We desprately(sp?) need the tessare. Then we were on our way. When we were in I stood with the other 12 year olds and Sam,Nicole, and Mom were standing with the other parents and younger siblings. "Happy Hunger Games!" the stupid Capitol woman said,"And may the odds be ever in your favor!" She walked over to the girls' reaping ball and said,"Ladies first!" She reached deep in the ball and pulled out a slip. "Jaz Carter!" she said. I couldn't believe it. I could feel the color draining from my face. I didn't move. Some Peacekeepers came and pushed me along until I was on the stage. Then she pulled the boy's name. "Tyson Martin!" When he was up on stage we shook hands. "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" My little 11 year old sister,Nicole, yelled in my face. I opened my eyes to morning sunshine. "Here are your clothes. Get dressed," my mom said and she laid a teal blue dress on my bed when I got up. I was hoping it wouldn't be itchy. When I put it on it wasn't itchy. I looked in the mirror. The dress was sleeveless and went right down to my knees. "You look nice," my other 11 year old sister,Sam, said as she poked her head in. "You look good too," I said looking at her lavender dress that almost touched the floor and had short sleeves. "Hurry up!" my mother yelled up the stairs,"We'll be late for the reaping." My mom put my blond hair up in a ponytail and we headed out the door. Nicole had a yellow sundress that looked great on her. My name was in the reaping ball 53 times. We desprately(sp?) need the tessare. Then we were on our way. When we were in I stood with the other 12 year olds and Sam,Nicole, and Mom were standing with the other parents and younger siblings. "Happy Hunger Games!" the stupid Capitol woman said,"And may the odds be ever in your favor!" She walked over to the girls' reaping ball and said,"Ladies first!" She reached deep in the ball and pulled out a slip. "Jaz Carter!" she said. I couldn't believe it. I could feel the color draining from my face. I didn't move. Some Peacekeepers came and pushed me along until I was on the stage. Then she pulled the boy's name. "Tyson Martin!" When he was up on stage we shook hands. "Ladies and gentlemen, your District 11 tributes!" Nobody clapped. Then we were ushered into the Justice building.

Here is My POV, sorry it is a little late!
Elizabeth Swords POV;
I was just starting my morning run at 6 AM, well, not literally, I was already 3 miles out from my house which the all so 'gracious' President Snow had given to me after I had won one of their wonderful 'Hunger Games'. Shaking my head I gasped as I tripped over a root. "ARGH, stupid root, why did you have to be there?!?!?!" then I got up, brushed my clothes off, and started running again 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2 I measured out my pounding footsteps until I thought I would drop from exaustion, I slowed to a walk and checked my meter thingy........"Hm, only 12 miles! You can do way better than that Elizabeth." I told myself. Then I started walking to cool myself down. I thought.........Later today I would meet the two poor kids who would be my tributes, "NO! They will be able to beat the pants off those other guys. And you know, don't be too rude. You need to toughen them up, prepare them for what is to come, and do not. I repeat do NOT be a jerk. And why am I talking to myself?" Laughing I said, "Well, maybe it is because you don't hardly talk to anyone else? I mean really, you got asked out 5 times last week! And what did you do? You laughed in their faces............." Making a face I replied to myself, "They were all puffed up idiots!" I heard laughing, turning around I saw my older brother Jack pointing at me and nearly passing out, "YOU?! Whahahahahahaha! You got asked out?! *gasping* By WHO??!?!?" I frowned and snapped, "By your Friends, Brother." I started stretching, "All of them soundly professed their love for me. And begged me to go with them to various events...." His jaw dropped, "But nearly all of my friends are at least 5 years older than you!! who Asked you?" I sniggered, "Pft, I am 18 remember? I think all of those bon-bons you have been eating lately have gotten to your head, and Greyson, Jacob, Leif, Kendall, and Justin all asked me." They really hadn't but Jack did the worst most terrible trick on me the other day, he had taken my poster of Oppallo Degro the BEST singer in the world by the way, and had done something to the photo to turn it PINK!! He turned it PINK!! Ha, well, he gets what he deserves......then he interrupted my train of thought and said, "Aren't you going to meet your tributes today?" "Uh huh." I relpied standing up, "I am sorta nervous, I mean, really it is my first time mentoring, and what if I do something......really........wierd?" He came over to me and hugged me, "It is ok, you'll be great! Just don't be a jerk." I gave him the 'look', "Don't you think I already told that to myself?" He slapped me on my shoulder and said, "See ya later punk, I'm about to go and drill some info into those friends of mine." I watched him jog off towards our house. He really was a good brother, just a little too.............much of a guy. I walked towards the Mayor's house to review some details with Mayor Elishia, then I would see who would be my tributes, then I was at the door. I knocked and a maid answered the door, led me in to his office, he was sitting at his desk. He was a very large man with glasses, balding head of hair, and a love for chocolate. I could see that he had eaten some recently, there was wrappers scattered over the desk. I curteyed, "How do you do Mayor?" He nodded, "Good, thanks to this wonderful pain medicine, my back is acting up again. You know how it is. The Missus is enjoying the fine weather, I see you are too." I looked down at myself and blushed, apparently I hadn't brushed all of the various twigs, leaves, and dirt off my running clothes. My bangs were plastered to my forehead, and my clothes were wet with sweat. "Oh, I am sorry, I sorta forgot............." he grunted and handed me two files, "Run off now and take a shower." "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone," I winked, "And I've had secret relationships before."
"You have???????" Helena asked.
"Of course I have. What, do you think stylists don't have a life??????" I asked playfully.
"Oh," she blushed.
"Hey, do I get my own stylist, or will we have to share you?????" Blake queried.
"I'm not entirely sure, but if one doesn't arrive in a few days, I'll be both of your stylists. And if your mentor doesn't come either, I'll mentor both of you too," I said in a no-nonsense voice. I would not let my first stylees die that easily- or die at all.
Blake looked impressed, and Helena looked depressed.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"I don't want to be a tribute," she replied meekly.
"Well, who does?" I chortled.
"Blake, the tributes from four, and the girl from six. Connor, I think," she replied thoughtfully.
"Well, they're stupid if they're happy to be in the games," I said matter-of-factly.
Helena looked happy to hear that, "Do you think I'll be one of the first to die?"
"Once I'm done with you, you probably won't die. And I mean it. I'll do my best to help you succeed," I promised.

My stylees would love having me as their stylist, just watch.

I watch the reaping video next to Kyle trying not to slap him. I didn't cry though, I promise I won't cry if it's not needed. Johanna comes in a sits down next to me and Kyle.
"Me and Vanyel have an idea on how to keep you two alive," Johanna says.
"What?" I ask taking a sip of water.
"You two have to act like a couple," Johanna says. I gag on my water.
"You need to, because if you make it to the top eight they'll interview your families," Johanna says.
"And they'll find our twins are dating and expect us to," Kyle says already warming to the idea.
"Fine!" I say to their expectant expressions. Johanna leaves and Kyle grins at me and takes my hand. This is really uncomfortable for me, but if it helps keeps us live I'll take it. I scoot over and put my head on his shoulder. "You know you're a really good actress," he says.
"Thanks," I whisper as the train speed of towards the Capitol.
~~~At the Capitol~~~
My stylist comes and takes me in for a talk. "Hi I'm Kilian," she said smiling as I sat down.
"Nice to meet you," I say. I was actually expecting one of those freakish designers, but Kilian doesn't seem to be altered that much. Her hair and face look completely normal except for light makeup, but her arms and designed with whimsical flower designs that actually look very pretty. "As you know it's traditional to be dressed in costumes that complement you district," Kilian continues. I nod, I know that already most of the time we're dressed up like trees so it can get really annoying.
"So we were thinking of you wearing this," she says as a beautiful dress and tight rise from the table. The dress is so well crafted I can't help, but sigh in relief the pattern on the dress looks like a canopyy of leaves with small twinkling lights that could either by stars of fireflies, there are also slight shadows that look vaguely like birds taking wing. The tights are even better, it has the same designs as the trunk of a tree and are the exactly same color as real trees, small flowers bloom here and there. "I love it," I whisper.

sorry sorry sorry i am super late, ive been busy writing my story's so i didnt pay attention. ill write mine now!
it was a normal day, only it wasen't..
it was the reaping and i new someone was going to be sent to the reaping, only who i don't know.
i see my freand michaela and say "hi michaela"
"hi" she says back "come on we are going to be late"
"sorry i was getting ready" i said "lets just run there and hope we are not late"
we ran there and we got to the reaping, both of us in the 14 year old place, we were as close as we could get to one anouther.
Effie starts blaabbering on about the hunegr agems and playes that stupid video
fianlly she got to the reaping and she siad "as always lady's first"
she drew a name i didn't pay attention, cause really didn't care for the hunger games, i wanted no part of its sick twiated rules.
then the worst thing i could think of happened
"Charter hold" effie said
"oh great" i though "i have a sister who can't help me, no freand to save me, and now i am being sent to the hunger games to be put to death"
"i really don't see the point of these games, they kill 23 of us each year even though our population is dwindeling" i though "it makes no sense"
as i walk up i wonder "mabey if i try at somthing for once i might make it"
"the carrers train there hole lives and i am going to wina s a unexperianced 14 year old?" i though "well better try then to not try at all i guess.

i went to the trian, said godbye to my mom, my dad, and my big sister.
then michala came in and said "you better try"
"dont worry" i say "i'll try, i am sure i can wing it"
"you cant wing it" shouted michaela "you cant wing it, you have to try"
ever since michaela lost her brouther to the games she hasent been the same
"ok" i said "i won't lose"

me and the outher tribute headed to the training senter and the parade by the trian.
i really only talk to my mentor (whoes name i do not know same with district 12 girl)
we got to the parade and my stylist geroge decided to have our parade costume be a black suit that would do somthing he wouldnt tell me.
so district 1 and 2 and 3 went

then prezedent snow gives his boreing old speach and blablabla sacrifice blablabla 24 tributes 1 will live blablabla
we have all heard it before and i frankly don't care anymore what he says, i will probully die so what do i care?"
then again i might win, probubly not but i might.
i decide to act exited and mabey i can sneak into the carrers or somthing , mabey find a hidder and team up.
we are brought inside we are praised by pepale telling us how cool it was.
i didn't care but i acted like i did.
so we got to training and it turns out i have pretty good aim with throwing knives.
also i can sneak with stealth but the best thing here is the fact i am able to throw a sphere.
"i have a chance" i say "i can make it"

Helena's POV:
Mahin finally left us when she was wanted by Remi. That's when I finally snapped at Blake.
"Blake Armstrong! What were you thinking!" I screamed. He looked confused.
"So, you don't want to date me?" he solemnly asked with a smile. I started then hitting him with a couch pillow.
"We are *hit* going to die *hit* soon! But of * course I would * want to * date you!" I screamed at him, but then I saw what I had just did. He was making me so mad right now! I had liked him since Bran was born, the way he laughed and the way he smiled. He was the one to make me happy.
"Helena look, there's the Capitol!" Blake screamed. I was still hitting him, but when I noticed the capitol I stopped. Blake sat up and peered out the window. It looked spictacular.
"You ready to meet the other fellow tributes?" he asked. I slowly shook my head. Wait until Mahin trains us.

I am doing another POV.
I walked into the door which led to an office with Elizabeth sitting in a chair. the were to empty chairs to her right. i jumped into the one beside her before my fellow tribute did. i greeted her "hello Elizibeth how are you today. then she replied. "very nicn. so you must be Kris. but Kris what. i told her"Kris Mellark. Peeta is my grandpa. she hade an astonished look on her face. i knew she got asked out alot so i dressed nice to impress her. which might have actully worked. she was very nice and helpful with tips. so we went to talk about the hunger games. she told us to be fast and queit. to be fierce and nice. and most of all to not be a jerk. she was one year older than me but we were about the same size. then my fellow tribute was a little smaller. which could be her weakness or strength. depending on the terrain. we will be on. so for the rest of the day she told us tips. and how to survive. so now we have to get ready for the hunger games.
