This is my first journal entry. Well, I thought that I'd let you know, I'm an Ekaterina. I ride my bike alot. I play the flute. I read. I listen to music. I'm your typical teenager. fighting her way through middle school. There is one issue about my town. It's full of Vespers. Everywhere you look, there are signs of Vespers. Hidden Vs and symbols all over the place. to the untrained eye they look like surveying marks and spills of paint and graffitti and scratches an animal makes on a tree. However, these aren't any ordinary marks. These are entrances to Vesper hideouts. One day I plan to go inside of one. One day, I will.
Okay, so you know how I said I'd get into a Vesper hideout? Yea, I tried today and it didn't work out so well. I was about to enter a hollow tree that was in the local park. I thought .... no, I KNEW it was a Vesper hideout. The big V on it was kind of hard to miss. When, all of a sudden, a "park ranger" escorted me out. He said "I would disturb the wildlife". Yea, right. Like I didn't see the V tattoo on his right wrist. Some people in this town.....
Something freaky happened today. The janitor at school looked EXACTLY like the Vesper from yesterday. I caught him looking at me more than once at lunch. Something just isn't right.....
Okay, I think the Vesper is following me! I saw him today driving a car. He nearly ran me over! I'm starting to get worried.
You won't believe this. I was riding my bike home from school today. I heard a bike coming up really fast behind me. I thought it was one of the punks from my school racing one of his friends. I pulled over to the side so I wouldn't get hit. Then I heard it slowing down as it caught up. It was the Vesper. He looked at me with his evil glare, then dropped something into the basket of my bike. After that, He sped off and turned the corner. I was so scared that I made my bike go as fast as it could all the way home. When i got to my house, I left the bike in the driveway, ran into the house, slammed the door shut and locked it. I pulled out the note he dropped in the basket. It read:
"BEWARE THE VESPERS"
Girl on Fire

"Deep in the meadow, under the willow. A bed of Grass, a soft green pillow."
