Hey, does anyone on here write poetry?? I'm not the best story-writer because I can never make up my mind on what plot I want, but poetry is definetly my thing!! Are there any other people like me out there in the wide expanse of cyberspace?? If there are, I want to hear your poems!! Also, can you tell me if my poems are any good?? Here are a couple:
"Star"
A glittering star shines brightest
When it's time comes nigh
Showing all the world
That it's about to die
So in the final moments
Of your time with me
Should show the whole wide world
What we're doomed to be
"My Heart is Under the Floorboards"
My heart is under the floorboards
Where it can feel no pain
It will not feel the sunshine
Nor will it feel the rain
My heart is under the floorboards
I put it there myself
'Tis better that it stay there now
Than result on someone's trophy shelf
My heart is under the floorboards
It stays there, stiff and stale
For if I wore it on my sleeve
T'wouldn't live to tell the tale
My heart is under the floorboards
Waiting for the one
Who cares enough to rescue it
And show it to the sun

My Poem
Here’s a sonnet I wrote in my Language Arts class a couple months ago:
Made with a light brown wood, that fine piece there,
Brass handles held to each of the three drawers,
Piled atop were things placed without care,
What could be hidden at their very cores?
Paints and brushes and pencils are in it,
Notebooks and paper and books that are seen,
All colors of paints in this one art kit,
Wait to show off with their colorful sheen,
Lying on top are many more things too,
A picture of two sisters smiling,
But who could that smile belong to, who?
The stories that are told and still telling,
The woodwork that sits right next to the bed,
Lying so near to the kid’s sleeping head.

"Friends"
It doesen't matter what you wear
Or even how you style your hair
For you my friend always care
And when I'm feeling down
You come over without a frown
And cheer me up like a clown
You are always caring
Sometimes even daring
And you never start comparing
You may soar like a dove
Higher than the clouds above
Carrying my love
So what did you think?

Okay. Here's a poem I'm gonna write on the top of my head! And as I write this part I still don't know what I'm gonna write about! Here goes nothin...
Sweet as honey,
Smooth as ice,
Flowing and endless,
Sweetness and spice.
Trouble on the right,
From the base on the left,
The two parts together,
They are both a cleft.
From hard to soft,
From left to right,
From deep to high,
From day to night.
The glories it holds,
Greater than kings',
Now and again,
What joy it brings.
Yay! I did it in... 28 minutes! Can anyone guess what it's about?

@BearDeciphering2: Yes, I'd LOVE to hear some more!! Don't be embarrassed because you think that sharing a new poem is scary, I write lots of experimental poems. They don't all turn out perfectly. Needless to say, I end up with lots of crumpled paper balls in my wastebasket... All that to say, PLEASE POST MORE!

This is a poem based off one of my experiences.
When I saw you with her
When I saw you
with her,
a little part of me
cried.
I used to think
that maybe
something might
just happen,
no matter of
my parents rules.
But then I saw you
with her,
and a little part of me
cried.
And now I feel guilty
for thinking of what it would be like
if you smiled at me,
or even noticed me.
When you dance with her
you seem
happy.
I still wish you would
notice me,
but
if you're happy
than maybe I can be happy
too.
What do you think
