I just got out of school on Friday. I've been swimming in my pool alot. Sorry about the wait, but I had to catch up on other stuff.
Jessica's POV
Anna Walked in and I waited for several minutes before she came back out, all the while trying to look calm and keeping the panic inside, not out in front of everyone. Thankfully she came out quick.
"Don’t lie but don’t tell the whole truth either. That’s what I did and he didn’t seem suspicious. Good luck.” Anna whispered in my ear. I nodded, and I walked in the room.
I sat down next to the lie dector, and faced the FBI agent. Looking at his name tag, I saw that he was a Kabra. Great.
"So, where were you this afternoon, Jessica?" he asked.
"I was with Anna and Gill."
"Doing what?"
"Oh, just messing around. Having fun." Joe looked satisfiyed enough with this answer.
"And what were you doing in the halls, running around with that monkey?" he asked finally.
"Gill got loose and I had to chase him back." I answered. "I had no idea how fast monkeys could run." Joe stared at me, and I stared back, and he finally dismissed me, and everyone else.
Once we got back to our rooms, Anna and I shut the door and locked it carefully, then we shared our experinces with eachother.
"Pretty similar answers." Anna observed. " What if they ask Gill? He can write you know."
" Yeah," I replied. "But they don't have to know that." Anna nodded, and then there was a bang on the door. We both jumped about 5 feet.
" Poison test tomorow!" I could hear our teacher shout. " Study or risk trying one if you fail!" I glanced at Anna.
"If we fail we have to drink poison?"
"Guess so."
"And tomorow will be an update on Ms. Jackson!" He also yelled, his voice ringing in my ears.

There were no tour guides around to answer our question, and the other Cahills didn’t seem to know either. It was starting to remind me of Hogwarts. At least the doors didn’t talk and pretend to be walls here (but you never know). That only left the air-conditioning ducts. I figured the Theatre was going to be pretty big, so with the ducts we’d have a better chance of finding the Theatre, even if it meant getting dirty.
“The other Cahills probably found the map in the elevators,” I commented as a beetle landed on my shoulder.
“Wait,” Gabby said. “They have a map in the elevators?”
“No,” I sighed, “But I wish they did.”
“Well, this isn’t your average public library.”
“Actually, the public library I go to is above average…except that the books I want to borrow are never there.” We crawled the rest of the way in silence, even though I was jumping with excitement. Gabby! Gabby was at the Toronto Sub-Headquarters! It was sort of awkward, though, she was five years older than I was.
“That must be the Theatre,” I said, pointing. “Gosh, it’s big.” It was, with a huge black wooden stage and gold curtains. The Cahill family crest was hanging on the wall above it, polished and gleaming. The lights were dim and Cahills were settled in dark blue velvet seats, waiting for the Assembly to begin. It gave the impression of nighttime even though it wasn’t even noon yet.
“I want a balcony seat,” Gabby whispered. Yep, there were balcony seats…and draped with silk ribbons they were.
“You sure?” I hissed. “Why not get the Box?”
“The Box?”
“Yep. It’s got the best view.” Not to mention protected by sensors and cameras. But hey, what can stop a Cahill? “You’re getting in trouble on our first day here?” Gabby said dubiously.
“Trouble is my middle name. Actually, it’s mischief, but same thing, right?”
“And pranks.”
“And pranks,” I confirmed. “We should be able to do some good ones here.” We stopped at the edge of a large vent.
The Box was closer to the stage and slightly raised, so we need to crawl forward. If only there was a separate duct going north. But they only circled around the Theatre. Unless… Unless there was a vent going directly into the Box. I looked at Gabby. “Do you have a telescope?”
“I think,” she replied, digging in her pocket and taking out a large, sleek pen. Built into the handle was an extendable telescope. I took it and peered into the Box…yup, there was a vent set into one of the walls. I wasn’t really good at orienteering, so I explained to Gabby my idea and she figured it out. Five minutes later, we were past all the cameras (don’t ask why there were cameras) and inside the box. I started to relax until I found out there were…quelle surprise…security guards!
“Why the heck are there security guards?” I hissed. “Unless the Mona Lisa happens to be hidden in here, there’s no reason why they need Tasers!”
“Maybe someone really important is supposed to sit in here,” Gabby suggested from the plush sofa. She dug into her bowl of ice cream. “Oh, yeah…maybe,” I said. “Sometimes I overlook really obvious stuff.” Then something sunk in. “Where’d you get the ice cream?” I nearly shrieked, starting to hyperventilate.
“Calm down!” Gabby hissed. “The guards will hear us. The ice cream—it’s over there.” She pointed over to a small marble shelf set against an entire wall, laden with drinks and snacks.
“Wow, thanks,” I said, helping myself to an ice cream sundae. “And also, the Box is soundproof.”
Just then, the lights darkened and the curtains twitched, separating by about three centimetres. A hidden voice boomed from invisible speakers, “Welcome, Cahills, to the Toronto Sub-Headquarters of the College of Cahill Unity and Excellence!” I jerked my head to the stage. Nothing, no one. It was still shrouded in dark gold curtains. The Cahills who were seated immediately quieted. The hidden voice continued. “Here we have around twenty Cahills from around the world, all from the four branches.” It paused. “And maybe—maybe—there are some Madrigals among you.”
“I am,” I whispered.
“Me too,” Gabby added.
“High ranking or low ranking, Lucian or Janus, Tomas or Ekat, will you be able to prove yourself among fellow and rival Cahills? Will you be able to prove yourself here, at the College of Cahill Unity and Excellence?” If the voice was attached to a head, the eyes would probably be giving everyone the hawk-stare.
No one applauded.
The voice continued, “CommanderLucian12 will now be introducing the rules and expectations. Also, we have a surprise guest today…”
“Oh,” Gabby said. “I think the surprise guest is supposed to sit in here.”
“What do we do?” I panicked.
“No idea. We could…um…hide under the sofa,” she suggested.
Then we both shut up, because the curtains twitched again and they separated, revealing—oh la la—another pair of curtains, this time deep red. They separated to reveal dark blue curtains, which in turn revealed green curtains, which swept aside to show a pair of black curtains. One for each branch, I was getting it now. The black curtains, instead of separating, just swept backwards and dissolved into the back wall.
All of a sudden the lights came back on and revealed windows set high into the walls, shining sunlight into the room. A guy [description censored for security reasons], was standing behind a microphone.

“Welcome,” he said to generous applause. “Before we begin, I’d like everyone to be honest with me. Remember, you’re among Cahills. Now, I’d like to ask everyone a few questions. First, who here is a true mischief maker?” He put emphasis on true. About three people rasied their hands. We would have except we were in the Box.
“Now among you, how many of you have ever gotten caught?” Three hands up.
“Who here considers themselves a mischief maker?” Majority of the hands went up.
“Excellent. I’d like to remind you that serious mischief and disruptiveness of workings at the College are forbidden—which will not stop some of you, I know. That’s why I’ve increased the security and punishment. For those of you who decide to go ahead with it anyway—well, consider it extra training.
“Class attendance is mandatory and punctuality is vital. We do not have detention here, but worse. If you are unable to attend a class, you need to alert us ahead of time and give a good reason. Cheating is strictly forbidden. Here at the College we believe in learning by good memory, not by taking endless notes, which you are welcome to do on some subjects, but on most, discouraged. Most things will be repeated only once, so pay good attention.
“Now, you’ve all chosen your courses, but I’d like to remind everyone about a mandatory class: Art of Survival and Miscellaneous, or ASM, which takes place as the last class of the day. It’s for every single Cahill and will be run by different teachers. We also have extra-curricular activities and clubs here, and there’s a club starting tomorrow. The C.C.S., or Code Cracking Society (sorry CCS guys), is open to all members who might be interested in joining.
“I would also like to inform those of you who have taken Disguising and Impostering both that they will be taught combined. To make up for this missing class, we’ve added Computer Hacking to the program. Sorry for informing you so late.
“Because of the Assembly there’s been a change in the schedule, and your ASM classes won’t start until tomorrow. Now I have a little presentation to show you…”
Gabby and I were not prepared for what happened next. Two people in all black uniforms burst into the Box, holding sharp daggers and shuriken in their hands. One of them had a feathered bow strung across his shoulder and a quiver of red-plumed arrows hung from his back.
I’d been relaxing onto the sofa, so I jumped about a foot in the air and spilled my melting sundae on the floor. The “ninjas” wisely sidestepped the puddle and kept going. Now I was really mad that the Box was soundproof. No one could hear us!
Gabby was more resourceful. She took her silver spoon and chucked it at “Ninja 1”’s head. It hit his nose and he flinched, but then caught it with his hand and chucked it at one of the security cameras. The protective glass instantly shattered. “Ninja 2” caught it as it fell and tossed it at the other camera.
I gulped. We were in big trouble. One glance at the stage showed “Poisonous” engaged in a PowerPoint presentation. No help there…I quickly took a napkin, squeezed chocolate syrup all over it and slammed it right into Ninja 1’s eyes. Before he could react, Gabby was pushing another one into his mouth. One ninja down.
The other one growled and leapt at us, holding his dagger out in front of him. Instinctively, I ducked and the dagger stuck in the wall of the Box. Ninja 2 growled, took his bow and nocked an arrow, and shot at us. I ducked, instinctively, but not fast enough. It grazed my hand.
I rolled behind Ninja 2, and stole a few ninja stars from his pouch. Call me a pickpocket, but my life was endangered here…I leapt in front of him and threw three ninja stars, aiming for his stomach. He dodged all three, lightning fast. Now I was in trouble. Just then, the door to the Box burst open again. We all froze. Poisonous was standing there, scowling.
“Just what do you think you’re doing?”
Jessica: thanks! Do you and Anna wanna meet with me, sometime in class?

Anna Cahill’s POV
Jessica and I spent the rest of the afternoon studying for the poison test. We didn’t want to take the risk of failing. We might be fed poison if we failed.
The next day we took the test and it seemed pretty easy. First we did the writing portion which wasn’t hard. The hard part was actually making the poison. We only had an hour to make it and I spilt my poison a lot of time. I finally made just a regular poison that teachers call “ordinary”. The teacher was displeased by my lack of creativity.
We went through all our other classes. We would find out our scores and news about Ms. Jackson after classes finish.
The day went by so fast. Athletics class was fun but I couldn’t do my best because I was worried about the update about Ms. Jackson. This whole incident made me paranoid because I keep on thinking that we’ll get caught.
After classes were done we went to the common room.
“I can’t believe all the homework we have!” Jessica complained. “Especially the poison homework, we just took a test!”
“Yeah, I wish they can give us a break with the loads of homework,” I replied. “How do you think you did on the test?”
“I think I did horrible on the poison making part and good on the written part. I hope they don’t feed us our own poison,” she said. “You?”
“Same here. The teacher said I had no creativity. How can you be creative with poison? Either way they harm you.”
We started to work on our homework and more students started to arrive. The FBI agent came inside the common room and everyone stopped what they were doing.
He walked around the room and said, “I have some good news.” He didn’t seem happy at all.
“This case will no longer be discussed. We found out that Ms. Jackson just had something to do with allergies. No one is guilty and she’ll be returning next week.” He said.
“Where is she now?” one student asked.
“At the hospital,” he replied. “She’s hallucinating at the moment and the doctors told me that she’s randomly yelling and wants to sue the school.”
He asked if anyone had any more questions and when no one had any he left. Jessica and I rushed to our room to speak in private.
“Doesn’t it seem strange that he’s disappointed?” I asked.
“Well, he’s a Kabra after all. I bet Isabel put him here hoping to find some information. He’s probably sad that he didn’t find anything or because he didn’t get to arrest anyone. At least were done with this problem,” she replied.
“Yeah, thank goodness. I was worried that they’d find the truth.” I said.
We heard our poison teacher yelling something about poison results and we rushed to the common room. Our poison teacher is middle aged, has short brown hair and brown eyes. She’s always cranky and can be mean at times. Her name is Ms. Tyler.
“Students, I have your test results. Over all you guys did okay. I’ll be speaking to each of your privately to discuss your grades. Anna you first.” She said.
I walked with her to the same room we were questioned in. She took out my test I scored an 88% on the written portion. I sighed at least I did okay on that test.
“Your written portion would’ve been perfect if it wasn’t for all your spelling mistakes. Plus you have to analyze more. You need to work on that,” she said in a dull voice.
She then took out a rubric with the grade for my poison making. I looked at it and I got a 79%. Well, at least I didn’t fail.
“Lack of creativity, young lady,” she said. “If you want to do well you must add more things and make a unique poison. You’re lucky I was nice enough to not fail you. But this is your last warning. Next time you’ll fail. Your welcome.”
“Thank you,” I said.
I left the room and she then called Jessica to come in. I wondered what she got on the test.
Jessica and I spent the rest of the afternoon studying for the poison test. We didn’t want to take the risk of failing. We might be fed poison if we failed.
The next day we took the test and it seemed pretty easy. First we did the writing portion which wasn’t hard. The hard part was actually making the poison. We only had an hour to make it and I spilt my poison a lot of time. I finally made just a regular poison that teachers call “ordinary”. The teacher was displeased by my lack of creativity.
We went through all our other classes. We would find out our scores and news about Ms. Jackson after classes finish.
The day went by so fast. Athletics class was fun but I couldn’t do my best because I was worried about the update about Ms. Jackson. This whole incident made me paranoid because I keep on thinking that we’ll get caught.
After classes were done we went to the common room.
“I can’t believe all the homework we have!” Jessica complained. “Especially the poison homework, we just took a test!”
“Yeah, I wish they can give us a break with the loads of homework,” I replied. “How do you think you did on the test?”
“I think I did horrible on the poison making part and good on the written part. I hope they don’t feed us our own poison,” she said. “You?”
“Same here. The teacher said I had no creativity. How can you be creative with poison? Either way they harm you.”
We started to work on our homework and more students started to arrive. The FBI agent came inside the common room and everyone stopped what they were doing.
He walked around the room and said, “I have some good news.” He didn’t seem happy at all.
“This case will no longer be discussed. We found out that Ms. Jackson just had something to do with allergies. No one is guilty and she’ll be returning next week.” He said.
“Where is she now?” one student asked.
“At the hospital,” he replied. “She’s hallucinating at the moment and the doctors told me that she’s randomly yelling and wants to sue the school.”
He asked if anyone had any more questions and when no one had any he left. Jessica and I rushed to our room to speak in private.
“Doesn’t it seem strange that he’s disappointed?” I asked.
“Well, he’s a Kabra after all. I bet Isabel put him here hoping to find some information. He’s probably sad that he didn’t find anything or because he didn’t get to arrest anyone. At least were done with this problem,” she replied.
“Yeah, thank goodness. I was worried that they’d find the truth.” I said.
We heard our poison teacher yelling something about poison results and we rushed to the common room. Our poison teacher is middle aged, has short brown hair and brown eyes. She’s always cranky and can be mean at times. Her name is Ms. Tyler.
“Students, I have your test results. Over all you guys did okay. I’ll be speaking to each of your privately to discuss your grades. Anna you first.” She said.
I walked with her to the same room we were questioned in. She took out my test I scored an 88% on the written portion. I sighed at least I did okay on that test.
“Your written portion would’ve been perfect if it wasn’t for all your spelling mistakes. Plus you have to analyze more. You need to work on that,” she said in a dull voice.
She then took out a rubric with the grade for my poison making. I looked at it and I got a 79%. Well, at least I didn’t fail.
“Lack of creativity, young lady,” she said. “If you want to do well you must add more things and make a unique poison. You’re lucky I was nice enough to not fail you. But this is your last warning. Next time you’ll fail. Your welcome.”
“Thank you,” I said.
I left the room and she then called Jessica to come in. I wondered what she got on the test.

Hi! I finally have some more POVs. I'll post them one at a time though.
Well, here goes nothing......
POV 1
When I finally got to the LUCCE sub-headquaters in Baltimore, I checked in at the Lucian-Madrigal Check-in center. The woman with the koala on her shoulder smiled and handed me a thick packet. "Do I have to read ALL of this?" I asked. The woman nodded with a sympathetic look on her face. "Okay.....when do I have to read it by?" I asked. The woman shrugged and turned back to her computer. So then I took a closer look at the packet and noticed that it had all of my MB info on it, including my ranks. 'Hmmm..... must have something to do with the file I sent in' I thought to myself. As I hustled down the hallway of my dorm, I flipped through the packet. It turns out that the packet had all the info about a special program that I qualified for. As my golden retriver sprinted ahead, excited with his new surroundings, I found my room and flopped down on to my nice , supporting, Tempur-Pedic bed. That's when I noticed another big packet sitting on my night stand. 'Oh no. Not again.' I thought groaning.

As Anna walked out, I heard my name called. I started walking towards Ms. Tyler, trying to catch Anna's eye. She gave me a thumbs up as I walked into the questioning room.
"You got a 90% on your writing portion. You forgot the word "the" in question 34, and you answered questions 1, 26, and 40 wrong." Ms. Tyler started.
"So I get points taken off for a grammar mistake?" I challenged.
"Grammar is important in the poison business. You can make a sleeping posion deadly if you write Liters instead of millileters. Or add an "s" to venom. Understand?" she snapped.
"Yes ma'am." I muttered.
"As for the posion. You flunked that."
"WHAT?!" I shouted, bewildered. " How did I fail?"
"There was no venom in your so-called posion. All it was was liqufied food. How do you call that a posion?"
"It's a stomach posion. Slow acting. Give it a couple hours and the person who drinks it will spend the night next to the toliet throwing up!" I explained. "You said to be creative."
"With posion!"
I sighed. This wasn't going well at all.
"So I have to drink my posion?" I asked
"And write 400 lines of "I will brew proper posion." during the detention time. Understand?"
"Yes." I grumbled.
After that little chat, I left and all the others got in to hear about their grades. Alot came back relieved, one or two looking terrifiyed.
"What I don't get," I spoke to Anna as we finished up homework for the night. "Is why Ms. Jackson is hallucinating if it was allergies."
"Life threatning?" she suggested. I shrugged.
"I guess."

Poisonous took in the situation in the Box with a sweep of his eyes. He barely glanced at the “Ninjas”. “You understand that you’re not allowed to be here?”
“But—“ I stammered. I glanced at gabby. Her eyes said, you got us into this, so you’re getting us out. “What about them?” I asked bluntly, pointing at the ninjas. “They’re not supposed to be here. They nearly killed us.”
“Did you hear my speech about rule-breaking?”
“Yes, sir,” gabby and I chorused.
“So obviously it hasn’t sunk in. I’m sorry that your school year starts off like this. Your punishment will be decided. Please see me after the assembly. As for the ninjas, they are the special guests. Do you understand? They belong here, not you.”
“First,” I said, looking him in the eye, “we didn’t break any rule. We used the air ducts to find our way to the Theatre and ended up here. We weren’t aware of breaking anything; and anyway, you only started your speech after we found our way here.” Poisonous didn’t move. “Second, if they are the ‘surprise guests’, why did they try to kill us? They should be charged for attempted murder. Third, can we see who the ninjas are?”
Poisonous and gabby both looked at me. “To match those,” he said coldly, “First: why did you not move out of the Box when I mentioned rule breaking and the surprise guest? Second: they obviously thought you were—trained Vesper assassins.” His voice dripped with contempt. “Third: why do you wish to know?”
“To match those,” I said, “First: like I said, we didn’t know being here was against the rules, and we didn’t know the surprise guests were supposed to sit here. Second: we’d like to know if the ninjas are—trained Vesper assassins.” I matched his contempt. “After all, what do you have to hide?”
“Nothing,” he decided. “I will let you go—this once. However, I will be monitoring the detention lists.” He smirked at us. “As for the ninjas, they are just that—ninjas. Goodbye.”
He left the room.
“Cheerful chap,” gabby muttered. “What a way to start our year!”
“As a matter of fact I think it’s all right.” She looked at me quizzically.
I pointed at myself and grinned. “Prankster, right? Anyway, we’ll see just how bad it is soon. Come on. Classes start in five minutes."
Jessica and Anna: what classes did you sign up for? I signed up for poisoning, disguising, impostering, esponiage, self-defense, languages and athletics.

Anna: thanks! I worked hard on it! :) If you're a Madrigal, you unlock a lot of new features for your card and the flame is one of them. You can find it in the Weapons section. I pulled up a Mockingjay on google images and then it was just trial and error :)
